The boys attempt to survive a full episode without Stat Boy and immediately replace him with a morally questionable AI called “StatGPT,” a machine apparently powered by deforestation, fake confidence, and Gary Busey filmography analysis. What begins as Eagles draft talk quickly devolves into an emergency summit on the Mount Rushmore of “successful ugly actors,” where Willem Dafoe, Steve Buscemi, Danny Trejo, and Gary Busey battle for facial supremacy while Clint Howard lurks in the shadows like a sleep paralysis demon. Meanwhile, Panda Dan delivers a full Kentucky Derby postmortem involving horse genealogy, “bad prep races,” gambling regret, and a horse named Great White becoming an accidental animal-rights icon after bucking its jockey like it had read a PETA pamphlet. The podcast then achieves true sports-radio transcendence with a live in-game call from the Clown Brothers at the Flyers playoff game, featuring bathroom-line reporting, unsynchronized “Let’s Go Flyers” chants, and pizza reviews from Section 206. Also discussed: Joel Embiid’s civic heroism, Broad Street Run bib black markets, whether the Knicks are finally ending Turtle’s 20-year “Lifetime Grand Slam” prophecy, and why Rod Brind’Amour’s face appears to be eroding like an ancient marble statue. Somehow, despite all this chaos, the vibes remain high

Welcome everyone to the twenty-third inaugural episode of the Set Hike podcast. I'm your host, Dr. Tat, and with me as always, Panda Dan. Turtle. Statboy?
SPEAKER_07We lost that boy. Where's Stat Boy? Where's Stat Boy? He's at that he's at that conference. He's at a Stat Boy conference. Oh, he's at the Stat Boy conference.
SPEAKER_01The Dallas Cowboy thing calls boy. Yeah, the Cowboys.
SPEAKER_06Well, we've lost a large amount of screens. We are now going to have to employ, you know, RD actually. I talked to them about Statboy's imminent absence. And they told me that there's a website I can use called StatGPT that I think we should employ over the course of this podcast. What do you think?
SPEAKER_07Yeah, StatGPT. That was one of the I think our RD step created that, right? Yeah, yes. Yeah. Now there's an in-house software.
SPEAKER_06I mean, some will say, you know, why did you cut down two-thirds of the Amazonian rainforest to feed this machine? And others would say, uh, I kind of want to know, you know, what size pants Lawrence Taylor wore in 1988. You know, that's how I feel about it. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Jim, I I personally am against that. I I like the the fact there is no fact check, and then we could just say whatever we want, put it out in the ether, and no one can tell us you know if it's right or wrong.
SPEAKER_06I see. And there's no better wrong than confidently wrong. Exactly. And that's I can guarantee that's the best way to behave, right? Think until you make it. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01There's no there's no one here to tell us we're wrong.
SPEAKER_06I I think uh we're living in a new world. Yeah. It's it's a whole new world.
SPEAKER_01Jim, did you see that we landed on Mars yesterday?
SPEAKER_06We we landed on Mars? Who's we?
SPEAKER_01Me and Dan. We went to Mars yesterday.
SPEAKER_06You went to Mars what? Like the chocolate factory? No, no, the the planet, the planet. Planet Mars.
SPEAKER_01Uh were any psychedelics involved with this landing? No, no. Jeff Bezos loaned us a rocket. We went up there, collected some rocks, and uh came home. It was a nice afternoon, right, Dan?
SPEAKER_06Yeah, sure. I'm gonna check with Staff Boy.
SPEAKER_07How long does it take to get to Mars?
SPEAKER_01There's nowhere to take us.
SPEAKER_07No. I'd like to welcome back Turtle, too. I mean, it's been it's been a while since we've had him. I I know a few of the episodes Turtle's been here. We've had technical difficulties. So he was here for draft night, which was a great night that no one got to listen to except us, but but yeah, Turtle's an honored guest and listener of the Sed Ike podcast, and we're honored to have him.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, we didn't get a chance uh because it's now into the you know annals of history. Yeah. What your thoughts were on the draft. I mean, it was exciting, huh?
SPEAKER_01I was very excited that we ended up and we got our offensive lineman, and then Malik Neighbors came out and said he was against him, we didn't need it. And I'm like, I don't know.
SPEAKER_06He also was upset, I think, for what? Sonny was it Sonny Styles? He was like, Oh god, I have to go up against this guy now. It sounds rough.
SPEAKER_01Which is like, you know, someone in the Giants comms department probably should have seen this coming when they agreed to let him like host a you know draft a podcast.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. I I thought, to be honest with you, that the NFC East as a whole got really better in this draft. And I I begrudgingly think we might have been the fourth of four. And the truth is they had the other teams had much more draft capital, right?
SPEAKER_01Jim, I I saw this today and I thought of you, and I want I want to ask what you think of this. Matt Matthew Barry just came out with his 2026 dynasty uh fantasy football rankings for super flex leagues. And we are a super flex league.
SPEAKER_06We are a super flex league, that's correct.
SPEAKER_01And you know, number one is love, two is Tyson. Love always three is all three is is Tate, four is Mendoza, five is lemon.
SPEAKER_06Five is lemon for superflex? Superflex.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Boy, I don't know about that.
SPEAKER_01Matthew Barry has high hopes for him.
SPEAKER_06Matthew Barry has high hopes for him. What do you think, Panda?
SPEAKER_07Yeah, yeah. I'm about yeah, nothing's changed since last week with Mikai Lemon. We'll see. You know, we got yeah. I'm I'm excited for the Eagles schedule release as a you know, I I I mean, obviously that's big. So yeah, I want that that'll come in mid-May, they said. Oh, and that's exciting for everyone.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, that is exciting for everyone. And it's it's your classic like sports talk radio, and you go through it. And the first time you go through the schedule, I always find myself I'm like, win, win, win, win, win. And then it's like at Dallas, you're like loss. And then win, win. And I always end up starting, I think, 14 or 15 and two, and you know, then reality sets in. But you know, the way Ciriani coaches, it's usually we're we are front runner, like we we get out the gates fast, and then we usually have some issues in the kind of I'd say back nine to last third of the season.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I really gotta say, you really gotta give the NFL credit for just invading your entire calendar year with like little moments like that. Because they'll announce like, hey, these are the teams that you'll be playing next year, and then like a couple months later, they're like, are now these are the exact dates of when you're gonna be playing them. And everybody's always like excited and talking about it, they're just talking about the NFL all year round.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. And so, you know I see you playing with Stat GPT.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, well, you know, right now, and again, I think because we're using the beta version of Stat GPT, yeah, it gives me the answers much faster and in a far less, I'll call it annoying way, as our our former predecessor would say. So six to nine months for you guys to have gone to Mars and back, that's if you use the home and planetary curve, is what I read.
SPEAKER_07One time Andrew in Denver, he sent me an Instagram link or something, and it was it was a political guy. It was not to get political, but it was the Boris Johnson from uh UK. Oh nice. He kept saying chat GP chat GPT like super quickly, yeah, and it kept sounding like he was saying chat chippy tea.
SPEAKER_06Chat Chippy Chat GPT.
SPEAKER_07And it was so funny. He's like, we're gonna use Chat Chippy T.
SPEAKER_06I think he's got all-time blonde hair. He, I mean, he basically, I think he's basically Gary Bucey's lost British cousin. I think that we can establish that. Now, Turtle, give me your top three Gary Bucey roles. Great question. Do you know I know three Gary Bucy roles?
SPEAKER_01He was in speed, wasn't he?
SPEAKER_07Gary Bucey was in uh StatGPT. He was here right now. Let me name a few. So he was in uh oh, you know what? I got him confused with someone, but he was in well, he was definitely in Black Sheep, remember? Yep, yep. I have that here. Stat GPT is telling me that. Yeah, what was the name in that? Sarn? Like uh in which one in Black Sheep. I will find Sarge and Drake Savage. So hold on, Stat GPT.
SPEAKER_06Sometimes and listen, you know, when I'm working with StatGPT, sometimes it gets a little, you know, it gets a little fired up here. So hold on, let me get it going here.
SPEAKER_07I got him kind of confused with Nick Nolte. Yes in uh blue chips. Yeah, that's that's exactly right. They kind of come from the same breed.
SPEAKER_06So Gary Bucey appeared in Black Sheep as Steve Dodds, the aggressive and scheming campaign rival, the governor candidate played by Tim Matheson, known from Animal House as you as you know, the I think he was uh Otter. But my favorite Gary Busey role was Point Break. Did you ever see Point Break? Yeah, Panda. Turtle, have you seen Point Break? A long time ago. So we're talking about so Point Break is early Keanu Reeves. And we here at said hike we're a Keanu Reeves podcast. I think I think we've established that right. We'll definitely have him on at some point, and we have to decide if we want to just go through the matrix, speed, you know, I don't know where he fits. But he and Gary Busey, it's it was right in that that timeline in American cinema that was ripe with buddy cop movies, right? And so Keanu Reeves plays an undercover cop with Gary Busey. And I I forget the name of what's the name of Keanu Reeves. Hold on, I'm gonna ask stat GPT. It's really helpful here. So much better than Chat GPT. I know. Well, you know, I think Boris Johnson had it right, and it looks like yeah, so he played Johnny Utah, Keanu Reeves, and then Busey played Angelo Pappas. And I I'm pretty sure we played basketball with Angelo Pappas. I think that actually was a real person at Aeronamic Swim Club back in the day. Shout out. Yeah. But he used to have the he had this famous line in it, and he would say, because they were going to get something to eat, and he'd be he went up and he'd be like, he'd be like, Utah, get me two, Utah. But he's just referring to like hot dog. Oh yeah. So, you know, I think that's what we want kind of espouse. But any any other roles that you feel good about with Gary Busey?
SPEAKER_01I personally liked his his cameos and entourage.
SPEAKER_06He does have great ones of those.
SPEAKER_01And and so I've just brought his IMDB. Like most of his roles are like get he played Gary Busey. Like he's playing himself and like as in cameos and different things all the time.
SPEAKER_06And Panda, he actually had his own TV show, and I I don't know what what Gary Bucey's 80s were, but they certainly were a blur, and I'm sure it involved, you know, substances that probably sped up his uh mindfulness, we'll say. And you know, he might have enjoyed the original Coca-Cola, if you know what I mean. Although I'm looking at a turtle right now and he's he's brandishing a nice Coca-Cola with the original taste.
SPEAKER_07But yeah, he was in uh rookie of the year as well. Remember? Yeah, he was the he was the slugger, right? He was like the no no is he the coach or was he like the other pitcher? He was the other pitcher that kind of like was the coach to like he was like a coach-like figure.
SPEAKER_06He's like one of those all-time actors, like with the they just have this face that is just unavoidably rememberable. Like you memorable, right? You you will not forget, like as soon as you see Gary Busey's face, your retinas will never forget what Gary Bucey's face is. Kind of like Willem Dafoe, right? He's an all-time set hike podcast. We said Steve Buscemi a few episodes ago. So, like, we should just real quick, humor me, if you will. I'm gonna go on a little tangent, but what are the all-time, I'll say, successful, ugly face celebrity guys, right? The Mount Rushmore. I think pretty sure we're gonna etch Gary Bucey's face upon that. Gary Bucey, oh sorry, Steve Buscemi is in the is in the George Washington. Buscemi is the Washington role because anytime that Buscemi has a romantic interest, I lose it becomes a total fiction to me, right? I mean, it now he does a great job in the Adam Sandler cinema world, right? As he always has the foil and all those.
SPEAKER_01But also as a serious actor, too. He has a hell of a range. Now, did you watch the Atlantic City one?
SPEAKER_06You know what I'm talking about the HBO show? Boardwalk Empire. Boardwalk Empire. That was a pretty good idea. I think he plays like a badass in that. Yeah, exactly. So you got you got Buscemi, I agree, would be in that. Now, I I think I'm giving Bucy the Roosevelt, right? I I like kind of like him facing the other way. Does the Sice Alone, Svester Sallone, does he make that? You bite your tongue. Sliced alone. Rocky Balbone. Rocky Balbone. He's a beautiful man. I I I shuddered at that. I mean, that's your New York bias coming out. Please, please check your privilege. We'll edit that out. We'll edit it that out. So I think we've got Buscemi, Busey. Would you put Defoe on there? I mean, I don't necessarily William Defoe and you think Dafoe? And then who's our fourth? Is the question. Let me ask Stat GPT. Let's see. I'll put what do I put? Like Mount Rushmore. Because Stat Boy, I don't even know if he would. He probably doesn't even know how to spell Mount Rushmore. So I'm gonna take Rush more than Rushmore of ugly male actors. Male actors. Let's see how many they get. I wonder if I needed to be. Alright, we'll see. Right now. Yeah, it's boy. Oh, look at it. Oh man. It's like all the guys. So StatGPT came out and said, that's subjective, and public figures appearances can easily turn into mean-spirited pylons. Alright. Enough. I will say Stat GPT is a little bit sanctimonious for me. I think you guys would agree. Here's the one possible lineup Willem Dafoe, Steve Buscemi, Gary Busey, and Danny Trejo. I'll tell you what, I think we locked that in. I think Stat GPT.
SPEAKER_08So we literally just looked at that. It literally matched like what we said.
SPEAKER_06I'm pretty sure there's a microphone attached to Stat GPT, and it's simply just monkey, you know, parrots exactly what we're doing. I don't know.
SPEAKER_01I don't know Danny Trejo being uh an ugly. He's got like that like some scars and like leathery's face thing, but I wouldn't call him ugly.
SPEAKER_06I've got I've got two fun facts about Danny Trejo, real quick. Mrs. Tat, in a former job of hers, interviewed Danny Trejo. Absolute lovely guy, she tells me. And one of the things about Danny Trejo, in all of the movies that he plays, you'll notice he typically does play kind of the villain or at least henchman or you know, role. Every time he plays that role, he demands that that person see like gets punished during b due to their evil deeds. So like every time he plays a bad guy, that guy either gets killed or incarcerated or a combination of that. So that's like Danny Treos all-time. Well, he he was in jail himself. He was, yeah. And and here are some uh runners up real quick.
SPEAKER_07He's the same age as Gary Busey, too. They're both 81. Yeah, there you go.
SPEAKER_01Wow, that's they're a lot older than I thought. I didn't act in Treos 81.
SPEAKER_06So the backup, here's our backup real quick. Our backup Mount Rushmore is Christopher Walkman, Walk in, excuse me. Ron Pearlman. Yeah, I agree. Ron Pearlman's just like a bigger head Mickey or a bigger version of Gary Bucy. It's almost like if you took like a golf or a uh garden hose and just attached it to Gary Bucey's face and filled it up, you would make Oh yeah, yeah. It would make Ron Perlman. Yeah. Mickey Rourke and Clint Howard, who I'm not familiar with. Pulling up a picture here. Oh, Clint, oh boy, he's got a face for radio.
SPEAKER_08It's funny when you don't know what these guys look like.
SPEAKER_06Then you're like, oh so I I mean, I do we even need to have Statboy come back, Dan? Yeah. I mean, at this point, I it's already done more.
SPEAKER_07I kind of miss him though. Like I did like, you know, he's he's got good presence.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, yeah. That guy. That guy. That guy's like that man. He's vying for Trey's spot. I'll be honest with you. I think he is. He's like the first, he's the first alternate.
SPEAKER_07He's like the sixth man.
SPEAKER_06In this case, the fifth man. He's like the designated face, you know, like the DF to go right on there if they ever added up. He's like ready and waiting. He's ready, willing, and able. Yeah. So let's let's talk about it.
SPEAKER_07I would like to just say congrats to all Broad Street runners and our guest last week. Joy Joy did great. Yeah, she crushed it. She uh had like a double-digit increase, you know, improvement in her time from last year. So significant improvement. She crushed it. I think she was like near the front of the you know, she she was awesome. One of the front of the women in the race.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, as you predicted.
SPEAKER_07And yeah, she did awesome. Yeah. Yeah, she was happy. And she's already excited for I think next year and maybe maybe maybe other runs coming up. Yeah. Like she might do a half marathon. She's like looking. So we'll probably have her own again, yeah.
SPEAKER_06But yeah, great job, Julie. Yeah, she I I told her. Apparently, she was listening to this song the entire time, which is one of my favorites, The Distance by Cake. Do you listen to this when you run?
SPEAKER_07I no. My brother used to listen to Cake. Yeah, they're a good band. Pretty good band. Anyway, I don't want to go. Yeah, it was good. I actually went down there. I saw uh Slayer too. Slayer was at the end.
SPEAKER_06Slay was in Philly, huh?
SPEAKER_07Yeah, yeah. So I was at X. Fantastic. Now it's called Stateside Live. It used to be called X Fenty Live. Yeah, I don't like that. I don't what's Stateside? Is that another liquor brand? Yeah, it is uh That's a Seltzer thing. All the seltzer people are gonna I always get confused. Stateside and surf side and yeah, it seems like there's a lot of sides. Yeah, they're all sided. But uh but yeah, it was a great day.
SPEAKER_01Was she a legit runner or was she a scab runner?
SPEAKER_07Who's that?
SPEAKER_01Julia. Did she have a bib or did she just run the train?
SPEAKER_07She was all signed up. Yeah, she crushed it.
SPEAKER_06No, she seems legitimate because you know, actually we know Turtle is a part of the municipal group, and uh if I'm glad you answered that question correctly, Panda, because you could have had her incarcerated.
SPEAKER_01Apparently, apparently it's a big thing of people just running bibless.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, could you imagine running Biblis? Well then they sell they sell a lot too.
SPEAKER_07Like a lot of like that becomes like a hot commodity, like bibs, like if because there's people that don't make the lottery want to you know want to buy an article on the acquired. It's a car market in Philadelphia.
SPEAKER_01Article on the acquire this week that apparently dates back even to the original one, where the guy who came in second in the first race, like was just running the course, didn't have a bib. And so he couldn't be like officially recognized uh the second race.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, I'd be interested to see how many people have actually ever done like a subway trick and tried to cheat their way through it. Yeah. Because it's been going on probably what, 50 years? I mean, you know, you'll have to see.
SPEAKER_011980, I think was the first one. Oh, really? Well, okay, we're approaching it.
SPEAKER_07It's in the 80s, and it's about 40,000 runners. I know we were talking about that last week. And internal, you live, I mean we won't disclose where you live, but we you do live in Philadelphia. So were you impacted at all by the Broad Street?
SPEAKER_01Oh, whenever the bar she run happens, I just like you leave town. Get extra food and pack down for the day. Yeah. Because I'm not going anywhere.
SPEAKER_06So so she ended up, Julia ended up kind of was it a PB for her? Yeah. PR, right? What's a PB? Oh, I go personal best.
SPEAKER_07Uh although you're saying PB? Personal record.
SPEAKER_06Is it is it personal record or personal best?
SPEAKER_07I don't know. I think either one works.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, it was. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06It was her PB or uh do you want me to call it PR or PB?
SPEAKER_07We'll do it.
SPEAKER_06PB is a little confusing because it could have been her peanut butter, and you know, I don't know if she's she I don't know if she makes her own peanut butter, but yeah. But yeah, she crossed 1980 was the first year, and guess how many runners there were? I well, you got Dan just read it, but 20,000? 1,500 runners the first year.
SPEAKER_01Oh wow.
SPEAKER_06Dan, I feel like you'd have a chance in the 1,580, right? Those those guys, I mean in 1980, people really that was like right around when the run craze started. You know what's cool? Yeah, sorry.
SPEAKER_01In the in choir article, they were saying apparently the guys were like smoking at the uh the starting line. And they were like, hey, you put those out. We don't need them in the pictures.
SPEAKER_07That's fantastic. It's cool. The Broad Street Run, I know it it has results. Like you could still look up, like if you ran it like 10 years ago, you could go to the website and look it up.
SPEAKER_06So I I'm gonna look up. The guy did it because I was just like, hold on, let's let's look up your results here. How do you think you did do you remember a year you did?
SPEAKER_07I see if you just type my name in, yeah, it'll uh all right. Broad street band. I mean I judged it. And the good thing is I improved every year, but that's not why I mentioned this. I mentioned this for everyone else, like if they like want to look it up. It's cool that credit to the Broad Street run folks that they you know they they keep that whole database of results. I don't know back to what year, but but at least back to like 2014 or so.
SPEAKER_06You know what? That's kind of cool. I really like that. Yeah, yeah. It looks like you're probably in there too, I think there's a good chance. Yeah, that's if I use my own bib, and I'm not willing to disclose whether or not I did at the risk of one of our podcast listeners slash hosts right now would incarcerate me.
SPEAKER_07Just a little nervous about that, yeah, to be honest. But yeah, so that was that.
SPEAKER_06And then uh So if if I'm willing, can we go to the Equine race that happened this weekend? What do we think about the Triple Crown? Tell me about your experience. Uh where'd you watch it? Did you watch it?
SPEAKER_07Yeah. So I was at a yeah, it was a fun day. Actually, I went to Holy Communion event for a cousin, which was very nice. Actually, pretty close to where you live. Doctic Tat. I heard it was fun. Yeah, yeah. It was great. And yeah, so we did like a pool, like my yeah, not to get personal, but my my dad did like a Kentucky Derby pool for like everyone at the party. So it was cool to how many mint jobs did he have? I'm not sure. Yeah, he was probably about halfway. Yeah, yeah, it was good. Uh yeah, so then yeah, we I watched it with with him and with my family, you know, with my brother too. And yeah, it was fun, it was fun. It was a surprise. I'm I'm sad I'm sorry to anyone that took my gambling advice last week. Like that would be me. Didn't quite work out.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, uh, I I would point out, Dan, that you know, Renegade that you were watching but not betting on, yeah, was the the pl you know was the place horse.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, it was and arguably would have won had Golden Tempo, which your son picked, right? So Dr. Tent. So young Tat ended up credit to him. Let me let me paint the picture. It was Saturday evening and we were enjoying a meal. Actually, we were making pizza with with my in-laws, it was fantastic. And you know, we messed up the first two and a half out of the three, but uh you know, when you when you're feeding family, they they have to like begrudgingly accept eating said dough or otherwise. I mean, it would have appalled Turtle. Turtle would have left the left the facility in disgust. It was rough, but needless to say, the after we kind of you know pinched our noses and forced the food down, we're getting ready for the event. And we told uh of course I took your advice and I put more money than I'm comfortable to say on those horses, thinking I was, you know, ready to book out a vacation to, you know, the Caribbean. Maybe the Caribbean or somewhere somewhere where, you know, I could probably cash out without significant tax burden, turtle. Yeah. And we decided Tommy Tommy wanted to get into it. So We said, hey, just pick a horse. And so he looks at the thing and he picks great white. And so, you know, to me, I'm like, yeah, you know, it's cool. It is a cool huge horse. Yeah, great white. Huge horse horse in there. And and and little tat enjoys animals. Yeah. We've talked about this. Yep. Tigers. Tigers. And if there was one that was Jamar Chase or Justin Jefferson, the horse, or anything tiger, that would have been picked.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_06That wasn't an option. So he chose, I think the only I want to say that was the only true, like just animal named horse in the field. So he picks Great White. And so we're watching, right? I I actually enjoy watching the posting, like when they get into their spots.
SPEAKER_07What is that called? Is that called posting or well? They call it the post parade. Yeah, it's a whole thing. So they they walk around in the paddock in the beginning. So even if you go to any racetrack, it's always they and turtle news this. They hang out. You can see them get saddled at the paddock and they walk around a little bit. The paddock's just like a nice thing. So they're just getting the vibes, like building up their energy either way.
SPEAKER_06I have no idea why I'm here in their walking circle. I hope I don't have to run around and get struck multiple times today.
SPEAKER_01And if you're in Belmont, you have a whole bunch of like Jamaicans yelling at you whether or not you're gonna do good or not.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, yeah. So then it's always a big deal who says riders up in this case. This year it was Pat Day, who's like a historic jockey, but that they usually have like a celebrity do riders up. I saw that. It's kind of like in the Scar when they say Start Your Edge. Start your end. It's kind of like that. Ceremonial. Nice. And then they play a song, like I think my old Kentucky home or something like that. Yep, yep. So that's like a big but then it's called the post parade to answer your question. They do the post parade, that's where they show them on the track and show their stats and everything. And then Yeah, and then they just go into the at the end of the post parade is when they go into the gate.
SPEAKER_06So then we're watching and we're going and suddenly I'm seeing text because we're actively, the Zulu thread is actively texting at this time. And we're going through it. I see one from you actually, because I I hadn't been watching or I was doing something else, and you were like, Great white shouldn't go. And I was like, What? And then they show the reef. Great white like reared up, reared up and just bumped his jockey. He was okay, thank you. So can you imagine if you're the jockey? I mean, first off, I would like to acknowledge, based on my opinion of how much animal cruelty is involved in the triple crown, that Great White's the true winner, right? I mean, he bucked the guy off and he said, I'm not running for nobody. I mean, he just he just completely should win money for that, but his bet was voided.
SPEAKER_07Yeah. And so I'm not getting abused. I'm gonna abuse the human.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, I mean, I I frankly I applaud Great White and I would like to get him on the podcast someday because I think horses' rights took a huge step in the right direction. Some would some would call him, you know, the the beginning of the horse's civil rights movement, and I'm looking forward to it. But I digress. So he got scratched, so that's the term he he's not running. Yeah. So he got scratched, and I'm sure he went to some sort of torture chamber, and the jockey got his revenge. But regardless, Little Tat is now So then you asked, you immediately asked.
SPEAKER_07And I said I said How did he re- Now was he angry that he was surprisingly not faced? I mean, I think he was like this. I knew this could happen.
SPEAKER_06Now now did he immediately go golden tempo? He did not immediately, but little tat he comes from a line of gamblers. A lot of gamblers, a lot of you know illicit type of ways to make money, but mainly gambling. And he just looked at the field and he said, Oh, okay, I'll I'll take golden tempo.
SPEAKER_07And he just picked I and I and you said that before. There were, you know, we have the text, we have it in written for it.
SPEAKER_06For the life of me, I had no idea for it, Tommy. And I don't know why you would pick that, but you actually gave up a thumbs up emoji, I do recall. So you you supported it. But I think I think you were just humoring us, to be honest with you, Panda.
SPEAKER_01I will be honest, probably I actually had uh Golden Tempo as a show. I put a show better. You got a show bet on him?
SPEAKER_06Yeah, and that probably helped your cause. But so anyway, long story short, yeah, he just fires he fires a fin Golden Tempo's way. We get the bet in in time, and we're off. And we're watching the race. And I'll be honest with you, this was the first year I had, you know, because this is the first year of the said hike podcast. Yeah. During the 22nd inaugural episode. And I'm looking and I'm like, all right, well, uh, Patente was nowhere to be found. And so it was really tough for most of the race.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, a couple, I think finished twelfth.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, there you go.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, two of my horses were in good shape. And like they were right top four. And then not to, you know, but then and that one horse six speed or something. He was like flying at the beginning.
SPEAKER_01You know, he was like, Renegade got pushed like to the to the side.
SPEAKER_06He got bullied pretty good.
SPEAKER_01Well, that's why they don't you don't want to have the the the one the one post because that's basically the whole world just comes down on you.
SPEAKER_07Yep, yep, yeah. So, you know, from from last golden temper. I mean, that was amazing.
SPEAKER_06I mean, yeah, the run he made. I mean, when you watch it, I I can't rem I mean for you, where does this rank in terms of like come from behind horse victories?
SPEAKER_07Like Mind That Birds. That's the one I was just gonna say, Mind That Bird. It's all these long shots somehow. I think Rich Strike was a huge long shot.
SPEAKER_06Didn't the guy who beat Smarty Jones we talked about come from behind a fair amount? Yeah, Birdstone. Birdstone, which is yeah, yeah, Mind That Bird Sire. True. Yep, yep, good stuff. You know, that's kind of cool. I hope that all those horses have bird name in them. That would be cool.
SPEAKER_01I'll a big birdstone. If I see Burnstone Birdstone, as that's one of the ones I really like.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, great horse and great sire.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_07The thing about Golden Temple, because I always look back, I'm like, what did I miss with this horse? And he the one thing again, he had every he had great pedigree, great, so he has Bernardini on his mother's side, he had Carlin on his father. So they're both preakness winners, both great horses. Really? Great pedigree. Good workouts, like very good, sharp workouts, like not the you know, like as good as anyone in the race. He ran his prep race was the Louisiana Derby, which is a week prep race. Like and I I still remember I told my dad before the derby a few weeks before the derby, or about a month, like because we watched the prep races, like we, you know, we monitor them. I mean, and I was like, I was like, this is like then we were like, oh, today's the Louisiana Derby, like who cares? Like that you just throw that in the trash, like whoever wins that.
SPEAKER_06Throw that in the trash.
SPEAKER_07Like came in third. He came in third. By that I mean like, yeah, they rarely win. And then like win the derby. Like it's just like a bad prep race. And then he came in third in the Louisiana Derby. Did you did you watch he lost to two horses in the Derby? He lost to Emerging Market and Pablonian. So I was just like, if this course can't win the Louisiana Derby, which we don't even care about, and then he lost to Emerging Market, who I actually liked because I liked his other stuff. But but yeah, that was the you know, like I that's the kicker.
SPEAKER_01Dan, did you actually watch Louisiana Derby? I didn't, no. I I what the reason why I put a showbit on Golden Temple is because I watched it. He basically was just He was coming up at the end. Well, he just didn't think he was in last, but he like just was just weaving through he must he must have ran an extra like furlong and a half, just move it along the track, yeah, and like it's like all right, well, if he could you know just not do that, he maybe like so he's he's not a loser, he just runs out of time.
SPEAKER_06He yeah, yeah, he's a closer, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it it was it was a he like his jockey just had him just take the weirdest trip for that in that race, and it was like, all right.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, now I heard that Golden Tempo is not gonna race in the Preakness. Is that accurate? That's yeah.
SPEAKER_07So a few other yeah, with Golden Tempo. So it was the first female trainer to win the Kentucky Derby. So congrats. You know, that's awesome for women. Oh yeah, women horse, you know, women in horse racing. That was a great accomplishment. And also an interesting thing was to the two brothers, or the Ortiz brothers, Irad and Jose, they both finished one, two in the in the derby. So two brothers finished first. Really? Yeah. And one of those brothers, I forget if it was the one that won or the second. He he won the Kentucky Yokes the day before, which we talked about.
SPEAKER_06That's huge. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's a lot of quick emphasis. He did the Oat Oats. Yeah, what's this? What are the brothers' names?
SPEAKER_07Ortiz is the last name. Jose and Irad. And they're both very well known, you know, great jockeys around the club around the year. Much respect. And yeah, so they didn't, they're not running in the preakness, which I think in last week's episode, because I always you know re-listen to our episodes all the time because they're so amazing. And I think I mentioned Mystic Dan, but it was actually he wasn't the one that ran skipped the Preakness. It was Sovereignty last year. He skipped the Preakness, and then he actually went on to win the Belmont. So I think so. Yeah, I mean, I think that's what that's what they plan to do here with Golden Tempo, I think, run the Belmont. But I think Renegades run into Belmont. So yeah, it's tough, you know. Did they announce the the Preakness field yet? Nah no, that'll be like next week.
SPEAKER_01So I w I wonder if the Puma is gonna be because he he he was what he was uh one of the favorite horses in in the in Kentucky and he scratched. I wonder if he's gonna come in for the preakness and just do we do we playing the weaker field.
SPEAKER_06Do we are we concerned for those that enjoy horse racing, the two of you? Are we concerned that having two years in a row where the triple crown is not attempted? I mean, what are we what are we doing here? Is the triple crown it's not good for yeah. I mean someone like Great White and me would say, you know, we're headed in the right direction. But tell me like, you know, if you take it out of the even contention, it it kind of steals a little bit of the thunder, huh?
SPEAKER_01Well, Jim, I'll I'll go one step further. Uh I it the fact that too that they're skipping the preakness, the track in Baltimore is really uh in the need of repair. And uh the preakness is is is the is is the big draw. So uh with the Kentucky Derby horse skipping the preakness, it's causing less people to attend the preakness. And it's the preakness is hurting her. Pimlico might close.
SPEAKER_06Now I'm assuming the preakness is a well-respected is hosted in a city that has a lot of respect and a place that many of us would like to support, right? Uh where where's the preakness? Baltimore. Baltimore. The land of Max Crosby. I got yeah. So, you know, perhaps perhaps Golden Tempo is a Max Crosby fan, and perhaps this is the vengeance that they seek. I hope Great White gets a spot just to do the same thing he's gonna do again. You know, I you know what? Great White should be in the WWE. He could be go for like the hardcore title.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, it's like Mick Foley.
SPEAKER_06Like horse wrestling, you know what I mean? Yeah, yeah. Because I think that would be just as humane as the racing.
SPEAKER_01One more thing before we get off this thing. I think the biggest story though was the number three horse, was it O'Celly or how you pronounce the name?
SPEAKER_07Oh, yeah, he came in third. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and and that right there is what made like he was an alternate.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, for one of the I think you would win.
SPEAKER_06He never even won a race. Like he never won a race. If you got the what the superfecta, you won like almost a hundred grand ninety thousand.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, and and like about yeah, it was either one dollar or something.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, one dollar, and like the if you but if you have the fifty cent trifecta, it's like fifty eight hundred dollars.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, yeah. Yeah, that's pretty good.
SPEAKER_07That's a pretty good return.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Because that horse was was 70 to 1.
SPEAKER_07Yeah. So it's exciting. Yeah. Exciting time of year. We got sixers, flyers. I think we got flyers game on right now.
SPEAKER_06I think there's a flyers game on right now, and what we're gonna have to do is one of our listeners at the end of the yeah. We're gonna have to see if anyone can help us out. Yeah, well, you know, we're right now, we're kind of we're testing the waters. We're gonna ignite ignite my wi-fi. Yeah. Hello. And here we are. Yeah, this is the hockey clown. You are live to air on the set hike podcast, and where are you right now? Uh I am in the Xfinity mobile arena.
SPEAKER_05I believe it's Bobin. Let me first almost say it's an honor to be on the Set Hike podcast.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, welcome.
SPEAKER_06Well, the honor is all yours for sure. Um, and we are so very excited to this is you are actually breaking ground. You are the pioneer of the first live game broadcast, and you're on scene at uh the Core State Center, formerly known as the F. I believe the FU Center was my favorite, First Union. Um, how's it going?
SPEAKER_05Yeah, uh yeah, vibes are mixed right now. Tough first period, tough first period. Uh refs gotta get their heads out of their buttons and the vibes are playing well. Student pucks on neck. We got a lot of advice in section 206. A lot of a lot of shout out to I feel like we're starting to get some momentum down 100. Yeah, we really need the title needs to stop, right? Yeah, starting to buy the game.
SPEAKER_06All right, well, I appreciate the positive advice.
SPEAKER_05A lot of hot is still to play. A lot of hot is still to play, boys. How are you guys doing?
SPEAKER_06That's what the Canadian folks always say. And what I would like to know what the meat pie selection is currently at the game.
SPEAKER_05Oh, no, no meat pies. I know. No meat pies? Yeah. Standing in the in a much long line of for the bathroom right now. Oh, nice.
SPEAKER_08Yeah.
SPEAKER_07Um everyone in the bathroom, right? Wondering what's going on right now. Yeah, what's the wardrobe tonight? Do you do you got a nice flyers jersey on or what's yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_05You know, yeah. I'm rocking a uh third and enrolled Eric Lindros jersey. Wow.
SPEAKER_01Eric Lindros.
SPEAKER_05Buying an extra large when I was six years old.
SPEAKER_01Um Planned ahead.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, still fits. And my my brother Archie, he's currently wearing a John Leclerc jersey. So yeah, we're doing well. Vibes. Clown, what uh Legion of Doom, right?
SPEAKER_06I tell you, I mean, uh we're looking at the replays here, and we're talking, I mean, it's a game, as as everyone says, hockey is a game of inches, and boy, uh it is like that one shot that they blocked like with the defensive.
SPEAKER_05He like knocked it out of the air at the same time.
SPEAKER_06I mean, it was a turtle hair follicle away, Pete. Uh, clown. I tell you, it was close. I mean, it's I mean, uh and the only thing that I find during this series, and and get give me your thoughts on this, Clown. Rod Brindemore's face, is it getting uglier as the games go on? I mean, his as his I think his nose is broken four times since he started.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, you know, Rod the Bod is like a cheesy work of art, like right? He's like made out of stone. So he's if the stone was it's ignited with dynamite.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, like the like like the rain in the water, slowly like you know, rearing away stone face and just rod the bod.
SPEAKER_01Are you casting Gary Busey to play him in the movie?
SPEAKER_06Yeah, would you have Busey as your rod Brindamore Biopic if we dyed his hair black?
SPEAKER_05Say that again. Sorry.
SPEAKER_06So so we're we're thinking if if we did a Rod Brindamore Biopic, would you have Gary Busey if we get some de-aging to play Rod Brindemore?
SPEAKER_07Or you could add Boucemi or Willem Defoe as well. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_05Oh well, I do like Willem Defoe.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, here's the biggest one. Oh, we got oh my god. We have this, guys. We are so very blessed. We now have it is it is the brothers. James, the clown brothers brothers. March, you are live to air on the Seth podcast. It is such a privilege to talk to you, and I'm so glad we have the better brother on.
SPEAKER_04What cologne are you guys we're hearing from? Behind section 206 of the Wells Fargo Center, or formerly known as the Wells.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, yeah, the first Union Center. It's my favorite.
SPEAKER_04Yes, yeah. How are you guys?
SPEAKER_06Oh, we're doing well. You know, we're watching the game. We're we're kind of talking about our favorite ugly celebrities on Mount Rushmores, and you know, we wanted to chat with you guys, you know.
SPEAKER_04Oh, yes, yeah. Sounds topical.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, very much so. I'll tell you, uh it it I don't know if you guys from 206 could see, but there I mean, I think one hit the crossbar. You probably heard that one, and I I tell you, the these canes are fast, but I'm being told vibes are still high there from your brother who's probably currently urinating.
SPEAKER_04Vibes are high. We had yeah, one off the crossbar. See, like one was about to cross the goal line and the defender sweeped it out.
SPEAKER_06It was close.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, yeah. I mean, we're we have chances, we gotta let the rest get out of the way, let the guys play, and I feel good. I feel good. I think we're gonna come out in the second and be roaring and hopefully keep the pressure on.
SPEAKER_06What's your favorite chant when you're at the Flyers game, Arch?
SPEAKER_04Oh, the classic let's go flyer.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_04And Gritty leading the way with the drum. Yeah, it's there's a tough beats.
SPEAKER_06And and how's how's gritty look tonight? Is he is he feeling good?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, he looks alright from the distance. I haven't seen him up close yet in flesh. But yeah, he seems like he's he's got some tricks up his sleeve, ready to see what he's got going. But I I will say the let's go flyers chant, we need a little bit more synchronization. Yeah. It's been a little bit all over the place. I don't know if you can hear it on TV.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, it was kind of like row, row, row your boat. I was seeing a lot of let's flyers go. And I we don't know if are we letting the flyers go or are we telling them to go let's fly or it got a little confusing.
SPEAKER_04It's pretty confusing for a slip set. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_06Well, you know, it is three words, so we should stick with two, you know. Or actually, my favorite tier is skate. I'm one of those guys who just yells skate, skate, skate, and it's like, you know, it's like telling fish to swim, swim. But I enjoy it. Are there are there men?
SPEAKER_04Do something's being thrown out, also. That's one that's that's a uh thick one in our section right now.
SPEAKER_06Any any particular concession of value there, Arch? Uh anything we're eating, we we're big meat pie guys.
SPEAKER_04I'll say my brother and I came, like I came right from work and and swim lessons with my daughters. We got some pizza upon arrival, and it was actually like a eight out of ten.
SPEAKER_07Oh is it Lorenzo's or what's the what what pizza? Is it Lorenzo's or what I forget what pizza place is?
SPEAKER_04It's like a it's called Couses, it's like a Lorenzo's imposter pizza, but it's pretty good. I would actually rate it higher than Lorenzo's.
SPEAKER_07Nice. Fantastic. Many uh Carolina fans there, or are they staying away?
SPEAKER_04Hey, I'll say that again. I couldn't hear you.
SPEAKER_07Many uh Carolina hurricanes fans walking around?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, we got I've seen about like three or four total. One is in our row, and he's getting a lot of loss. A lot of loss.
SPEAKER_06Uh yeah, I can imagine.
SPEAKER_04They seem more like a tropical storm fan rather than a hurricane. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_06I understand the vibe. And and the truth is when you try to badmouth Carolina, I mean, it's hard to do because it's like, you know, it's like trying to badmouth. James Taylor. You know, James Taylor. Oh yeah, there you go. Yeah. What are your thoughts on James Taylor? That came out of left field there. All right, that's it.
SPEAKER_04I haven't given it much thought.
SPEAKER_06I'll tell you what. All right, great song. Well, we want you to guys, you we want you guys to get back. I'll give you I'll give you back to Pete real quick before I uh before I let you guys go. All right. Arch, it's a pleasure and privilege, sir. Always, always a pleasure.
SPEAKER_08Let Flyer go. Yeah, do something. All right, do something. Yeah, thank you. This was this is a historic call.
SPEAKER_06At the game, we the clown brothers. I mean, my god, we are just so very blessed. What a moment.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, and first and foremost, I'm sure you guys have already had an entire segment of happy Mother's Day to all of our Seth Mothers fans out there.
SPEAKER_07Oh yeah, so so time. What a gentleman.
SPEAKER_05Top four moms of all time, very nugent, candidates, mom. Just gonna dox multiple moms right now, folks. You guys let it that out.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, but uh yeah, yeah. Hey, that's very kind of you.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, happy Mother's Day. Let's let the flyers go. Let's go. Enjoy the pizza. Tell them to skate, tell them to skate, Paige. Thanks, guys. Yep, yeah. Take care, clowns. Godspeed, and there you go, folks. It's it's just a beautiful thing. And so, you know, from my standpoint, we have uh, you know, we just have to honor this is our first group that uh, and I think we know what we're talking about here. Do you know the song? Stat GPT actually put this on, but it's our it's our group for uh for this.
SPEAKER_07Uh do you know the song? What the heck? What the heck's Doctor attack cooking up here?
SPEAKER_06This is Archie and Clown.
SPEAKER_07This is kind of beautiful. Right here.
SPEAKER_08Send in the clown. Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_06So anyway, I'll tell you what. That was great. That was fantastic. Well done. RG and Pete. You know, that that I hope that this podcast gets recorded because that would be a really fun thing. And actually, I will say that the uh this is we do leave an explicit part to our podcast, but I'm gonna just call him the clown. The clown is actually extremely critical of the RD department for good reason. You know, I think he values these these podcasts highly. So we hopefully we don't disappoint. But boy, what a bonus. We even got the arch clown. Um yeah, I did not I did not think we were gonna get both. The vibes seem high, although I mean yeah, so they're down one nothing at the moment.
SPEAKER_07It's end of the first period, so we'll see how that all works out. I do have a flag outside my house right now. I saw that. That was actually pretty cool. It was nice. You chose an orange color, which is interesting. Yeah, I have a flyers flag and a sixers flag. So you swap it up. I just swapped them every day.
SPEAKER_06Can I ask Stat GPT who's gonna win the Flyers game? Who will win the Flyers game? Do you think it'll so for our listeners? Yeah, so we uh let's see. Stat GPT, let's see who will win. The Flyers game. And right now, it says, oh my God. The smart money is on the Carolina Hurricanes over the Philadelphia Flyers tonight. So hurricanes win a close one, something like three to two. Boy, it's the stat GPT even predicts. I definitely think Statboy would not make that prediction.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, exactly. It's so much better.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_07Yeah. Carolina's up two-nothing in the series right now. The Sixers are down two-nothing in the series to the New York Knicks, which is actually turns out to be Turtles basketball teams.
SPEAKER_06I didn't know if we were going to get to this uncomfortable part of the podcast, but I you know what? Let's rip the band-aid. How do we feel about how what's going on here? Uh, you know what? I'm going to give the floor to you first.
SPEAKER_01I think the Knicks, I've been saying this my entire life. This is the year. The Knicks are going to win the championship. We were close a couple years ago. This is going to be it. It's going to give me my lifetime grand slam.
SPEAKER_06And for all the Seth podcast listeners, this has been part of Turtles, uh I'll call it Turtles Triumphs. And he has been pushing this mantra, uh God, a decade now? Because I'm trying to think. When did when did you get the third of the four? And and for for the for the listeners, lifetime, what did you call it? Lifetime Grand Slam? Yeah. The Lifetime Grand Slam is when all four of your favorite sports teams from the four major teams win a championship. So the latest was what, the Giants?
SPEAKER_01No, the latest. No, Giants won in 93, Rangers won in 94.
SPEAKER_06And Yankees was 01. Okay.
SPEAKER_01200 1996. Oh, they lost in 01? They won in 96, 98, 99, 2000. They did lose them. They actually lost in 01 to the diamondbacks?
SPEAKER_06Yeah. Oh, okay. Yeah. So man, do you you think this is the year? Uh hopefully. It's been waiting for, you know, 20 years. And and if if you were to procure, and let's say, you know, you bet on O Selly and you got that $90, some thousand dollars and you put that in to courtside seats, who would you like to sit next to in terms of Knicks fans?
SPEAKER_01Oh, Knicks fans?
SPEAKER_06Yeah, like who would you want next to you to the right and left of all the Knicks fans that have been shown on? There's a lot. Yeah.
SPEAKER_07So like that just like said Timothy Chameley's been in like everything. Ben Stiller is a huge Knicks fan. Tracy Morgan. Tracy Morgan's great. Tracy Morgan. Spike Lee. Yeah, Spike Lee. He's like the classic.
SPEAKER_01I think yeah, you have to. Howard Stern. Like if you're the right and left, I think you have to go Spike Lee with one of your two seats.
SPEAKER_06I to I couldn't agree more, right? That is the stall work. He's been there, what, probably four plus decades on the wood. Through some horrible, horrible teams. Horrible teams. Yeah. Horrible panda. So all right, I agree. Spike Lee on your right, and I'm I'm gonna give you a couple of different options here, care of stat GPT. You've got Spike Lee was the first one. That's the correct one. You've got Ben Stiller. Are you a Ben Stiller guy? Do like Ben Stiller.
SPEAKER_07The funny thing is, as you're looking at that list, there's still a picture of Clint Howard up.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_06I'm gonna keep it. Everyone do themselves a favor and Google Clint Howard. Is he literally and I think he is. And he was in uh gentle Ben, whatever that is. It looks like Clint Howard was a child next to a giant grizzly bear, is what they're showing me as well. But so you I don't know if Clint Howard is an option, but Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, Tracy Morgan, Larry David would probably be my choice. This guy, Timoth E. E. Chalamit. Oh, yeah, yeah. Who's that? Who's that? He's like that young actor who like he's uh he's the guy who plays the sandworm.
SPEAKER_07The girls listening, you're probably like Jim doesn't know.
SPEAKER_06John Stewart, no H, Mike, Michael J. Fox, Woody Allen, problematic, and 50 Cents Cent, excuse me. I think I'm going, and again, I'm not a Knicks fan, but I would go David Lee, just David and Spike Lee. Not David, not David Lee. David Lee is a famous drummer, but that's that's my combo. I know Chris Rock, Tracy Morgan, man. You're having laughs the whole time. Yeah, yeah, yeah. How about you?
SPEAKER_01I think I put that Michael J. Fox, too.
SPEAKER_06Michael J.
SPEAKER_07Foxx would be really cool.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_07But you know, I know Howard Stern, he's not on that list, but he goes to six years. Really? Uh, Knicks games, too. Interesting. But yeah, I don't know. That's a good list. I mean, a lot of funny guys on that list.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, a lot of funny guys on that list.
SPEAKER_07Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Pete Davidson's also a big uh Knicks fan.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, it seems like the SNL folks. I don't know why. Uh do they work around there or something?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, probably.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, something like that. Well, okay, but but to the actual series, I mean, how do you feel?
SPEAKER_07Yeah, I think I follow that. The whole NBA playoffs I follow very closely. I would say very closely. I I really like the NBA playoffs. Yeah, it's tough. I mean, the Yeah, it's tough with the Sixers right now. So they it was very exciting. They beat I mean, it's great that they beat Boston Celtics in the first round. So they were the seven seed Boston at number two. Got lucky that Tatum was out game seven. So that was that was Saturday night, right? That was That was Saturday night. So that was very exciting. I mean, everyone no one really thought they would do that, but they they beat the Celtics in a seven-game series. Embiid was playing lights out, you know. Game one, they got crushed against the Knicks. I think they had just tired legs. And then surprisingly, Embiid was out game two, and that came out of nowhere.
SPEAKER_01So that was that that was He was pretty hobbled at game seven against Boston. He was like limping around the last like couple minutes.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, so that was tough. Sixers played very strong game two, they almost pulled it out. They they got cold and at the end in that fourth quarter. It was uh they played great defense, they just went cold in the fourth quarter. A lot of Sixers fans right now are upset that you know the one of the reasons they lost game two was they had no they really didn't have much depth, like Maxie, Edgecombe, these guys are playing like every minute of the game, they got a little tired at the end. A lot of criticism of the Sixers was at the trade deadline when they traded Jared McCain to the Oklahoma City Thunder, and they didn't acquire anyone. So they were basically sellers at the trade deadline, like Darrell Morey, and like it doesn't help that they kind of did that to stay under the luxury tax. So like a lot of people question the owners' motives, why did they do that?
SPEAKER_06And if it's and who's the current owner of the Sixers?
SPEAKER_07Josh Harris. And he also owns the Clarendons, the Washington Clarendons and the New Jersey Devils.
SPEAKER_06So let that say deep breath. Problematic. I mean, that's yeah, Woody Allen next to you on the court. Problematic, yeah.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, so I mean, if if they had, you know, it's I mean, it's you can't ignore that fact. Like if they had Jared McCain in that game too, they may have won that game. You know, like it's a yeah, we'll never know. It's a hypothetical, but but you can, you know, I mean, Maxie is a great player, but yeah, can he play like every minute of the game and at a high level? Like that's a hard thing to ask. Hopefully Joel comes back for the Philly games, but but they kind of have to win game three, game four. Oh, I mean we'll see. They they did come back from 3-1 against the Celtics, so you know, could they do it again? They're they're an interesting team. They they're reason you know, they're they're tough.
SPEAKER_01I'll be interested to see the uh Sixers' strategy of only selling tickets to Philadelphia area uh I wanted to just bring that up to the game.
SPEAKER_07Yeah. I mean that's the thing, because yeah, it's like I think the cheapest ticket for game two is like 500 bucks in Madison Square Garden, and that's like in the nosebleeds. So yeah, they come down to Philly. You could probably get a lower level for what, 300 or something.
SPEAKER_01I I went to last time the Knicks played the Sixers in the playoffs, I went to that game, and it was it might as well have been Madison Square Garden South. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Let's go Knicks' chance.
SPEAKER_06And Bede and Bede called it Madison Square Garden East. And uh, I think he thinks that we play in the Atlantic Ocean, which is interesting.
SPEAKER_07And he also said he'll pay if you sell it to a New York person.
SPEAKER_06Like, I was wondering where I submit my ticket that I paid so that he can reimburse me. Do you think there's now actually, Panda, I don't know if we can disclose this, but you may or may not have involved financial evaluations and treatment for certain organizations similar to the Philadelphia 76ers. Uh, do you think that there's probably some easy way for us to get a hold of Joel Embiid's finances?
SPEAKER_07I mean, there's a salary's public information, right? But Joel's the man. I mean, I don't know if you recall. I mean, obviously, like I love Joel Embiid. He uh he did do something cool during COVID. I remember they were something was going on where they were going to cut salaries of game day staff or something. Yeah, he actually supported them. Yeah, and he joking aside, he's a good guy. Embiid like funded these like another reason to love Josh Harris, or you know, to not like Josh Harris. But like they Embiid like stepped in and funded like the people that the Sixers were gonna.
SPEAKER_06So it's it's so it's such a good point because he actually is a bit of like a true Philadelphian. When he was drafted, I recall myself and brother Tat were actually living in Philadelphia in Washington Square West general region. I don't want to fully dox where we were. You guys actually frequented the location. Oh, yeah. We would go there and then McGillens like pretty often. Right down the street was a basketball, uh, just a cut like a court, and and Joelle used to like come over there and play. It was, I mean, he was just there. Yeah, and this is like Jim, I was actually gonna bring this up too. Yeah, it's like super cool.
SPEAKER_07He used to just walk around. Yeah, like I saw him once at Codoba. I remember Joel move at Cadoba. And then I saw him at Red How Square.
SPEAKER_08How you doing?
SPEAKER_07He was walking his dog. He's a giant human being.
SPEAKER_08I was gonna say so it's now like he's blending in. Yeah, and he was wearing like six of his shorts.
SPEAKER_06So I mean he really he really establishes yeah who he is. It's like if you don't see the shorts, you're like, is that Joel and Bede? Okay, oh no, there's the shorts. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Now we here at the Sethike podcast, we enjoy matchups, right? And so I decided to look up now the Knicks. It's Knickerbockers. There we go. I turtle, and and do you know what a Knickerbocker is, Turtle? It's like an Irish thing or something. Incorrect. So that's okay. Stat GPT is here for us. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Well, you know, Stat Boy's not here. We it's we all want.
SPEAKER_06I I don't even know who Statboy is. I'm I I feel like we've This has been a great episode. I think we forged a new path.
SPEAKER_01I I think the acoustics in this room is better without all the screens. I think so.
SPEAKER_07The term Knickerbocker's game just at first. Hot dog. All right. I'll tell you the vibes are hype, yeah. The set height bumps.
SPEAKER_06Um the name comes from a fictional character, Diedrich Knickerbocker, in a satirical book from 1809, which became a nickname for New Yorkers. And it's actually a Dutch settler. That's right. So knickers are baggy knee-length pants, popular in the 19th and early 20th centuries. So it basically is kind of like a way to make fun of Dutch people and capris. Yeah, I'm sorry. So we need that actually. So you've got a matchup right now, Panda, of Dutch people in Capri pants against a 76er. And a 76er is just simply someone who was around in 1776. Yeah.
SPEAKER_07I actually don't think it'd be a pretty good fight, probably.
SPEAKER_06You know what's kind of funny is if actual back then people knew like the historical significance and they like called themselves 76ers, like that would be like us walking around being like, hey, we're a bunch of 26ers, you know, as as our American revolution comes underway.
SPEAKER_01But I digress. I think I think how the fight would go be like the venue. Like if it was in the mud, those baggy pants are really gonna weigh you down.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, so you got baggy knee length pants if it is in the mud, and then the 76er will have been around about the same amount of time, right? 1776, 1809. So you've got the Dutch dude against I'm assuming everybody in kind of the general Philadelphia area in 1776. That's a lot of British, British, a lot of uh, you know, Quaker. There's there's a there's a little sprinkle of Quakers there.
SPEAKER_07Was it the when we were talking about the origin of the cookie? Wasn't that Dutch?
SPEAKER_06That was Dutch too. Yeah, yeah. You know, there's this there's this kind of underlying you don't realize how Dutch America is until you start digging in deep. I mean, like pretty much I think the Dutch came up the Hudson and they're like, dude, this is this is great.
SPEAKER_01It is the the the Dutch had like all of New York for a while, and then like the British just showed up one day and be like, this is ours now.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, they see a bunch of like Clinton Howards walking around.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, I think every time I look at your laptop, I see.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, you can't get enough of Clinton Howard here. I you know I I I'm happy to put more pictures up. But you know, we probably could get him on the podcast.
SPEAKER_01He actually just uh his but his booking fee is probably like a hundred bucks.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, he he was in over 200 productions. He's 57 years old. Actually, he just turned 57 in April 20th. Yeah, shout out. Yeah. His birthday's 420. Yeah, there you go.
SPEAKER_07Yeah. But uh, if anyone, any of our listeners, if you ever know anyone or like are interested in being a guest on the Set Hike podcast, you know, feel free to reach out because we are we are expanding our horizons in that arena. And we actually have but you know, potentially some exciting guests coming up. So and thank you to anyone that's been a guest.
SPEAKER_06Do you think the 76er or the Knickerbocker wins in a in a battle? Let's call it, let's say that they're doing a duel, right?
SPEAKER_07Like, because that was the old school way to kind of figure things out. I would go 76er. I mean, it's because they're revolutionaries. Yeah, I don't know.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I figured 76er is probably going anywhere at a musket. But imagine the baggy pants Dutch guy is going to like a club. And I'm gonna look up real quick.
SPEAKER_06They're probably eating a lot of cookies, so they're kind of out of shape. Yeah, I I totally agree. And I'm just gonna look up Diedrich Knickerbacher, the uh the actual original. It's basically their SpongeBob SquarePants when you think about it. It's essentially that they they said it looks like he was a humorous old New Yorker persona, and it was a parody over serious historical writing. And yeah, that's that's about it. It's a literary joke. I'm gonna pull up a picture. Stat GPT's gonna hook us up here of Diedrich. So he's not a real person. He's like, again, like SpongeBob SquarePants. And it looks like he looks just like Clint Howard. It's it's uncanny. Oof.
SPEAKER_01He does actually just look.
SPEAKER_06He looks like a very, very old yeah. That one he looks a little rough around the edges. Here, yeah, I boy, he's I'll I'll tell you, he let me just tell you folks, I know this is an audio realm, but if I was showing you this picture, I'd I think we'd knock, I think we'd give Busey a run for his movie. Let me tell you that. So anyway, yeah, that's that's where we're at. So let's yeah let's put our let's put our feet to the fire real quick and predict who's gonna win the Knicks 76ers series, and we'll see who's right. I will buy a pair of Knickerbockers. Let's do a mare's bet right now. Me and Turtle in the Sethike podcast, you will get a pair of Knickerbockers if the Knicks win, and what are you gonna get from me? A musket?
SPEAKER_01Uh a tri-cor tri-corner hat.
SPEAKER_06Deal. It's a gentleman's handshake. There it is, folks. There you go. So I'm gonna say sixers and seven.
SPEAKER_07See, the thing is for me, it depends on the availability of uh Joel Embiid, you know? Yep.
SPEAKER_06Let's assume let's assume we don't know.
SPEAKER_07Uh I mean I'm gonna What do you think, Turtle? I'm gonna go Nixon five.
SPEAKER_06Nixon five, a gentleman's sweep. Boy, I'm gonna get I might get two pairs of Knickerbockers for him if that's the case. What's your favorite Knickerbocker color? Brown? Brown, brown's in right now. Very good. Maybe I'll find you a nice Sienna as well.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. I think that'll work out nicely. Yeah, because you want to have a backup pair. Yeah. Because it like you said, if they get muddy. Although if you pick brown, you're gonna be in good shape either way. Yeah, yeah, that's why you yeah.
SPEAKER_07I'll say I think if if Joelle plays, I'll say I'll go with Dr. Tatspick, sixes and seven. If Joel doesn't play, I'll go with four-one Knicks.
SPEAKER_06Okay. All right, well, we'll see, folks. I I think it's it's pretty exciting. Hopefully, MB plays.
SPEAKER_07Now I like the Knicks. You know, they got a lot of Villanova guys. They got Brunson. Uh, yeah, laid on what do you got, brother?
SPEAKER_01I have something here. I I wish to challenge uh Dan Dan the traveling man here to a travel competition. Uh uh who has attended more Major League Baseball Stadium, like active Major League Baseball Stadiums, me or you. I think I I think Dan might give me a run for my money.
SPEAKER_07I don't know. I I feel like you may have me beat, but we could we could how are we gonna figure this out?
SPEAKER_01I got I got I got the the standings right here.
SPEAKER_06We can go all right go right through them. Just fine see I'm gonna I'm gonna predict right now the over under total, right? I'll do the total over under between both of you is 22 places. Okay. So we're gonna go yeah yeah.
SPEAKER_01I'm gonna go over combined. It's combined, yeah. Yeah, I'm gonna go combined over.
SPEAKER_07I think it's I think that's probably close. Yeah, yeah. All right, let's see. And how about I will say there's one stadium that I did a a tour of, which I'll say which one, but I didn't go to a game there. So does that count?
SPEAKER_01You have to go to the game. Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_06Because I've been to I've been to that same one in the frigid cold. I actually recall that date. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_07Well, that's it's actually a different one than that. Oh wow, but yeah. Oh, I know I I know I know which one that is. Yeah, yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01All right. So the Yankees, New York Yankees, Yankees Stadium 2. Both of us have been there. Yeah, we've been there together. Okay. Two Tampa Del Race. I have. Have you?
SPEAKER_06No. Three.
SPEAKER_01Baltimore Orioles.
SPEAKER_06Yes.
SPEAKER_01I've been there as well. Five. Toronto Blue Jays. No. No, neither have I. Red Sox.
SPEAKER_07Yes.
SPEAKER_01Yes, I have as well.
SPEAKER_07Seven. That's my favorite one at Fenway Park. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Cleveland Guardians.
SPEAKER_07No.
SPEAKER_01No, neither have I. Detroit?
SPEAKER_07No.
SPEAKER_01White Sox?
SPEAKER_07No.
SPEAKER_01Kansas City Royals.
SPEAKER_07Nope.
SPEAKER_01I have. Minnesota Twins. Nope. I have. Nine. But now to just.
SPEAKER_07So what's the tally here right now?
SPEAKER_01So right now I I'm up six to three. Six or three? But I I I I think Dan has got more westerns.
SPEAKER_07Alright, but keep going.
SPEAKER_01The A's.
SPEAKER_07No.
SPEAKER_01No, neither. I don't even know where they play now. They play in like a stadium, like tiny like minor minor league ballpark in Sacramento.
SPEAKER_07They're going to Vegas? Vegas, yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Mariners. No. Neither by Texas Rangers. No. I have. Wow. Ten. So yeah, seven to three. Astros.
SPEAKER_07No.
SPEAKER_01Neither by Los Angeles Angels.
SPEAKER_07Yes. I forgot about that. Twelve? Yeah. Both of you are just damn.
SPEAKER_01Right now it is 11 between the two of us.
SPEAKER_07Stadium is weird because I tried to do a lap. I always like to do a lap around a stadium just like walk around. That I like, I was like, oh, this is great. You know, I'm at the Angels Stadium doing trying to do a lap. I was like in a good mood. And then there was just like a wall, and like I couldn't do a lap. That's awesome.
SPEAKER_08You couldn't do a circular lap.
SPEAKER_06I mean, that that immediately I was at every stadium in America, you should be able to do a lap in. I mean, that that's crazy.
SPEAKER_07I was like, come on. And meanwhile, like Mike Trout's on the field or Tommy, and I'm like, and you're just staring at a wall.
SPEAKER_01You're just looking at the wall the whole time. You're like, how am I going to scale this?
SPEAKER_07Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yep.
SPEAKER_01All right. Uh so now the NL East. Atlanta Braves.
SPEAKER_07No.
SPEAKER_01I just did the Braves. 12. The Washington Nationals, we were at the game together.
SPEAKER_0714. I forgot about that. Yep.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Phillies, each of us have been there.
SPEAKER_0716. It's getting close.
SPEAKER_01Miami Marlins?
SPEAKER_07No.
SPEAKER_01See, this is one I have been to Shea Stadium, but I have not been to City Field. Doesn't count. I know. It does not count. Dan, you've been to City Field.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, I've been to City Field. Okay, 17. Chicago Cubs. See, that's the one I did the tour of. Yeah. So I've been to a Chicago Cubs. So one first tat. Dr. Tat's on the board, baby. I'd love to go to a game. It's fantastic. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06You've done it totally? I have not. I want to go to the city. You guys, I would go there at the Wrigleyville tomorrow.
SPEAKER_07Yeah. Yeah, we'll plan a trip there. Yeah, tomorrow. Okay.
SPEAKER_01Cardinals, St. Louis.
SPEAKER_07No.
SPEAKER_01Nearby. Pittsburgh Pirates.
SPEAKER_07No. I heard it's a great stadium.
SPEAKER_01It's a cool, it's a really cool stadium. Sit on the third base side, and then you get like the city skyline as like you're viewing.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, the only problem is you're looking at Pittsburgh. Yeah. 20. That's 20 now.
SPEAKER_01Uh I have 18.
SPEAKER_06Oh, you have I thought you just said you had two that you just did. Or is that that got us to 18? Okay. No, Pittsburgh probably should have to 18. That's only helping me. All right, good.
SPEAKER_01Uh Milwaukee Brewers?
SPEAKER_07No.
SPEAKER_01Divine. Cincinnati Reds?
SPEAKER_07No.
SPEAKER_01Dodgers.
SPEAKER_07Yes. I like that state.
SPEAKER_06Did you do it as well, Tur? I have not. Okay, 19. Padres. Yes.
SPEAKER_01I have not.
SPEAKER_0620. You're making a comeback in a round.
SPEAKER_01Arizona Diamondbacks.
SPEAKER_07No. You're an Arizona guy. I ate pizza across the street from it.
SPEAKER_06I'll give you a half point. I thought you did go to the Arizona. I thought you did go to Arizona.
SPEAKER_07Great pizza place, which one of our listeners, Bob and Pete, actually both shout out. It's called uh I think it's called Pizzeria Bianco. I think it was on the too popular show. It was it was awesome. If you're ever in Phoenix, check it out.
SPEAKER_01I thought you went to dine there. I'd suppose it was. No, you you've been to that football stadium, right?
SPEAKER_07Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I know you've been to this one, Colorado Rockies.
SPEAKER_07Yeah. With uh Andrew.
SPEAKER_01Shout out. So now we're at uh something. I think we're at 22, right? Or 21. We're at 21. I'm up.
SPEAKER_07Colorado has something called Rocky Mountain Oysters. People can look up what those are. Yeah. It sounds delicious. It's weird.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I've had them. Yeah. So now I'm up 11 to 10.
unknownWow.
SPEAKER_06And it's 21, and we're going for the 27.
SPEAKER_01San Francisco Giants.
SPEAKER_06No.
SPEAKER_01I would like to get a boo. I have not, but I won 11 to 10.
SPEAKER_06And I won under. Yes. Booyah. Fantastic. All right. And Dan Dan loses. That's great. That's great for all of us. Let's let's that was fun.
SPEAKER_07Let's switch gears. I'm sure our listeners love that too. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06I mean, that's that's your that's your sports talk radio in a nutshell. Now, let's switch gears real quick. Do we have any sound offs or anything we can throw out there?
SPEAKER_08Yeah, we do have some stuff.
SPEAKER_06So any any bag of mail we can uh unleash? Yeah, we have mail from a couple weeks ago.
SPEAKER_07Let me see if it's still relevant because I I know a few of our listeners. They're like, are the you They're probably asking about Golden Tempo.
SPEAKER_01Does he think he has gonna show?
SPEAKER_07Yeah. So just Matt. You remember just Matt? I remember just Matt. Yeah, yeah. Just the same. Then he said. So this was from a few weeks ago. So he said, congrats on your new ride and your fam new family editions. Oh, thank you.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, they're still both are still around.
SPEAKER_07It's good. He said he said what's going on with the Phillies. Nothing seems to be going right.
SPEAKER_06I think we'll tell him that they're going to change manager soon. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, so he basically asked like if they're turning them around. So we did that. Don Mattingley's doing a great job. So he's he's prescient there. Yep. And then he said this one is interesting. So he said also with the ABS system, the new you know, the new ABS system. Oh, I love that. I love it. New controversy. He said historically athletes would always lie on their stat sheet and say they were a bit taller or a bit heavier. Now that the ABS goes off a batter's height and measurement, some players have magically shrunk by a few inches this offseason. Yeah. I didn't know. Any thoughts on that?
SPEAKER_01I didn't know that, but I do know that there they actually have to go in and get like laser measured during spring training.
SPEAKER_06And I guess that's is that how the ABS then works? Is that it it has that and then it will just plug that person in onto the field?
SPEAKER_01Yeah. So like everybody, like everybody has their strike zone like laser.
SPEAKER_06But from my correct me if I'm wrong, but is it not nipples to knees essentially is the strike zone? Yeah. So if you're let's say you're 6'4, but you squat down really tight when you're when you're about to swing the bat, wouldn't your strike zone be shorter, that distance?
SPEAKER_01I think they take that into account. Like what if I'm measuring?
SPEAKER_06What if I took my at bat and I was just kneeling? Like, would I not would my strike zone go down? I don't know.
SPEAKER_07I I I think they take that into account in during the uh I'm thinking of like odd job that James Bond. Well, yeah, no, no.
SPEAKER_06I understand like if you go to golden, I understand if you are shorter you have a shorter strike zone. But what if a tall like what if Joel Embiid like kind of does a crunch and holds the bat up? Does he doesn't does the strike zone shorten? Because he's it it's physically shortened.
SPEAKER_01I think that would severely hit impact his ability to like swing at the ball though.
SPEAKER_06I'm I'm just I'm just putting it out there. So you think the robots are just doing the Yeah, the robots are taking care of that. So they just they just have it with whatever your normal batting stance is. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Uh have you been to uh a game yet with the new ABS system? I have.
SPEAKER_06I have. It's very fun. It's extremely fun. Yeah, I have to.
SPEAKER_01The guy with the Sunday package has yet to be to a game. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_06Well, you know, Panda Dan's a busy man. Uh we're lucky we even got him on the podcast tonight.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, yeah. We do have a slayer sound off. Fire it off. This is also from we actually have a few slayer sound-offs. So this one was from a few weeks ago. She was better. She's back from Gall, she went to Galway higher than Lodeland. So that's awesome. She said that so she kind of just stated that she came back from Galway. So, you know, welcome to the club. And then she said NJ Transit is charging $150 for train tickets to games at MetLife. What a joke. I hate NJ Transit. See my mention some joke of a company. So yeah, a lot of it is a sound off there. I would agree. NJ Transit leaves a lot to be desired.
SPEAKER_01Well, boss Boss is doing the same thing.
SPEAKER_07Yeah.
SPEAKER_01To uh to Foxborough.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, she said part of the bid for host cities was to fund transportation so to so FIFA won't pay up. SEPTA is not raising prices.
SPEAKER_06Well, there you go. It it speaks volumes to how much better we are as a city.
SPEAKER_01I think well I I think that's interesting because SEPTA said they weren't gonna do that, but then it's also like a supply and demand thing because they are what FIFA is like taking a chunk of the parking lot by the link or Philadelphia Stadium, and at the same time they're like jacking the price to park. So you're gonna have you're you're already gonna have an increased demand on the transit system, and then you know, as an accounting major, Dan, you get the you know, the supply and demand thing. Are we gonna have the supply of trains we need to actually meet the demand at a mark and clear in price and not have massive lines? That remains to be seen.
SPEAKER_07Yeah. Well, there's also economics minor and supply demand more fell in that category. I didn't learn any of that in accounting. Oh, really? Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_06So accounting, you're like the demand's already here. Yeah, we're not even talking about supply demand. They're just taking the money. You're just moving money around.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, yeah. But econom economists love supply-demand. Do they? I always remember for all the economy folks out there, economists.
SPEAKER_06Let's get our let's get our economy.
SPEAKER_07So there's a supply-demand graph, which like every any economics economics class you go into, they start going crazy with the supply-demand graph. And what does it look like? And I was always I would always get people I would always get confused because there's a supply curve and a demand curve, and I'd always be like, which one goes which direction? Yeah. And then I had this great professor that said supply curve goes up like Superman. So it's always going from left to right, diagonal, and then demand always goes down, so it's always left to right down. So it's like one curve. It's basically an X and like one curve. Superhero is always Superman? Yeah. It's always going up, up, up like Superman, and then the demand curve's always going down.
SPEAKER_06And and there's no like superhero for demand? Or is it like demons or something? What's it?
SPEAKER_07I guess it's like the demon deacons or something. Yeah, it sounds good.
SPEAKER_06So it makes an X. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And and where the two meet is what we're looking for. Yeah, the market clearing price. The market clearing price. And if we were to you know figure out the tangential, you know uh motor vehicle gas prices, there's a probably a handful of things that would affect supply and demand, huh? Well, and then they shift because I think. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01So so what like what Scottish fans are doing in Boston is apparently they're just renting like a fleet of school buses to like you know totally totally just go on their home route of getting to Foxborough.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. And you know what? We are looking it up right now, and Stat GPT is going to confirm it here. Nope. It actually didn't work. I think it did. Yeah, go back down. Up it says the demand curve shows how much of a good consumers want at different prices. It usually slopes downward. When prices go down, people buy more. When prices go up, people buy less. Supply slopes upward, upward, excuse me. Higher prices encourage producers to supply more. Lower prices reduces supply.
SPEAKER_07See, this is an educational podcast.
SPEAKER_06We pay a lot of money to and Clint agrees. It looks great. Yeah, yeah. You know, it's like you know, we supply plenty of Clint Howard's, but our demand is really for Dafoe. And so it's tough because you got to find if you end up at the Beast of the.
SPEAKER_07You supply a lot of Clint Howard's the demand for women that are pursuing him. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06And then when when the two curves meet, the Dafoe and uh Clint Howard, uh, you get a Gary Busey phenomenon. Yeah, it's a pretty good mark.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, you don't need to spend that $200,000 on that college degree.
SPEAKER_06Just listen to Sed I just listen to Sed Eye podcast.
SPEAKER_07Yeah. Yeah. It was great. A few more Slayer. We always appreciate Slayer sound-offs. This is actually a nice one. So Adam Schefter reported usual division rivals are now community partners. The Philadelphia Eagles and the New York Giants joint efforts to grow girls' flag football in New Jersey reached a milestone today when the NGS NJSI double A re vote voted to recognize girls' flag football as a state sanctioned sport at the high school level. New Jersey is now the 21st state in the country to officially declare girls' flag football a sanctioned sport, a league-wide initiative that has been embraced and supported by the 32 teams.
SPEAKER_06I couldn't be happier at this news, Slayer. Thank you so much. Middletat is going to definitely dip her toes into the flag football, and I cannot wait to coach her. I I think it would be fantastic. Actually, at one of the parks nearby, the uh I think it's called the Great American Park. I I call it that, but it's Haverford Reserve. I was watching, they have multiple games like the high school girls playing flag football. And it's it's really competitive. It's fun. That's awesome. Very cool. Yeah, it's the future. You know, when an NFL fails, that's all we're gonna be watching. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Moving to flag football, yeah.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, but when when flag football fails, they'll have you know, we'll be in nursing homes and they'll just be showing us old, you know, cut scenes of point break, you know. So it'll be great.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, we have flag football, the Olympics are coming up.
SPEAKER_06I know, that's exciting. Yeah, man. I uh anything else?
SPEAKER_07Yeah, the last one there was a viral clip of like a Philadelphia crossing guard that uh I don't know if you guys saw it, but it was like some kind of accident that occurred and flipped over truck. Yeah, like he was eating like an ice cream cone as he went. It was great. Yeah, I'll just show it to you real quick, Dr. Tat. Oh wow. What was he doing? He was like a very animated character.
SPEAKER_06We're dr we're we're looking at this right now. It looks like the he's he's like eating an ice cream cone. He's really going to sunglasses. He's going at an ice cream cone, but he's watching an accident or something underneath.
SPEAKER_07Well, he was there when it occurred, and then he was like, he like. Oh, so he's just describing it? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_06It was like a post-crash. And for everybody who's trying to, that's the first time I've watched it, it's giving off unlike Aguilar. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Which is the all-time uh do you guys remember that video? Yeah, that was close. That is probably one of my favorite Philadelphia news interviews.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, yeah. It was like they were rescuing babies, and then he said, Well, what were they rescuing? He said, We were catching them on like Aguilar. I think it was it was like the day of an Eagles game where Aguilar had a few. It was what? It was like the day of an Eagles game where Nelson Aguilar had a few critical drops.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. Let me see if I can pull this up here real quick for you. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Then I've seen a guy hanging out the window, you know, screaming at his kids in there and things like that.
SPEAKER_06This guy's a hero, folks.
SPEAKER_00See if it was open and it was. I ran upstairs. And then I was ready with smoke. I ran back downstairs. By that time, the ladder truck was pulling up. And ironically, being my one of my ex my old co-workers took the ladder off the off the truck to raise it up and assisting people down. My man just wrong babies off the window.
SPEAKER_07And he did like a great like facial expression.
SPEAKER_06Unlike Aguilar, it was fantastic, guys. That's an all-timer. And it's just it's just so fantastic. And you know, I I think we just really have to say to ourselves, what an exciting time. We've got the flyers are now down to one.
SPEAKER_02What what a horrible timing for this.
SPEAKER_06But in honor of the ice clowns, let me offer just one last one last little bit here. But guys, we've got an exciting time coming up. We've got we've got our guys going. We gotta fight hard. Yeah. And it's let's go flyers.
SPEAKER_07Yeah. So they're gonna come back like the 76er revolutionaries. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06That's like a very 80s version, I feel like. I feel like that's something Gary Busey would listen to. But let me just say how fortunate we are to live in this timeline where I get to talk to Panda Dan with his sniffling nose, fighting through it all, smiling, a little bit cold, but then Diedrich Knickerbocker's descendant here discussing not only the Flyers in the playoffs, but the Sixers. I mean, we haven't had that in a decade. And the inaugural year of the Set Hike podcast, we're there. Yep.
SPEAKER_07And next week we got the uh PGA championship coming to Philly to Neto Square. It's gonna be very exciting. And the preakness is next Saturday as well.
SPEAKER_06So, you know, for the Seth Podcast, I'm your host, Dr. Tet. And I'm Panda Dan. Turtle. And StatGPT has joined the group. And you know what, Stat Boy, wherever you are, if you are still, you know, we don't even know what our things are.
SPEAKER_07He's gonna come back stronger than ever. He's with a bunch of other stat boys at this conference, wherever he is.
SPEAKER_06I'm sure they're I bet they're going through a bunch of different careers. Yeah, I'm sure they're fine. The Dunning Kruger effect. That's actually one of his favorites. So look that up for everybody there. But you know, let's go Flyers, let's go Sixers, let's go Eagles. And anything else there, Panda?
SPEAKER_07Yeah, just thank you to Turtle for being here. It's always an honor. Thank you to the uh Bash Brothers, Archie and Play and the Ice Crowd for joining. That was a historic moment.
SPEAKER_06Historic moment.
SPEAKER_07Yeah.
SPEAKER_06And we're breaking ground every time you listen to this podcast. Yep. Hopefully, this podcast records. It would be really nice if you anyone else got to listen to this, but we'll see. Uh huh. But uh everyone, be safe. Enjoy, and uh to honor our our fallen friend.
