Stat Boy makes his triumphant return to the podcast after disappearing into a secret statistics convention and immediately helps break down the emotional war crimes committed against Philadelphia sports fans, somehow pivoting from the death of “The Process” into a full-blown atomic physics lecture involving Joel Embiid as a proton and Tobias Harris as a neutron who “does nothing.” Then, in a shocking display of podcast professionalism, the crew lands an actual golf interview with the guys from Golf 215 to preview the PGA Championship at Aronimink Golf Club — featuring discussions of turtle-shell greens, rough thick enough to hide a family sedan, and whether Jordan Spieth currently exists on a milk carton. Things deteriorate beautifully afterward into a philosophical debate about cream cheese ratios, French breakfast vocabulary, horse-racing ethics, NFL world domination, and whether Thanksgiving football spiritually belongs to Dallas. Stat Boy delivers enough obscure golf facts to become “Stat GPT,” while Dr. TAT invents a horse-run jail system, and Panda Dan accidentally turns a bagel review into geometry. Somewhere underneath the chaos is a genuinely excellent Philly sports and golf episode.

Welcome everyone to the twenty-fourth inaugural episode of the Set Hike podcast. I'm your host, Dr. Tad, and with me as always. And the Dan. And where is our third caballero? And Statboy. Welcome back. Stat boy. It is it is good to see you back, buddy. How's up, gentlemen? How are you doing, man?
Stat BoyI'm better. I'm better. How is the convention? Fantastic. I'm filled with new numbers in my head, new equations, new way to approach the world. It's been it's been a nice little repris there. I think I'm back, refreshed, and ready to uh pound you with more statistics.
Dr. TATThat's good. And and what was your best number? What was your favorite number you just learned?
Stat BoyYou know, I I I really have an appreciation for one.
Dr. TATOne is your your you have an appreciation for one. Yeah, I really, I really enjoyed that. Some would call that the loneliest thing. You gotta look out for number one. Yeah. Don't step in number two, right?
Stat BoyThat's correct.
Dr. TATYeah. I I you know, we've talked about numbers before, right? We're we're a numerology podcast, and we talked about the number four and our aversion to it, right? You know, I think it's your favorite number, but one that many would want to shy away from. I I would say that if I had to describe the weekend of Philadelphia sports, it was a pile of fours. We died. A lot of a lot of ends. I would say pretty dominant beatdowns, you know. Yeah, yeah. I mean, I would say different perspectives. I mean, the Flyers is more of a optimistic perspective. I mean, it was the first time in a what, I forget the last year, what, 2019 or so since they made the playoffs. So young team, young talent. They, you know, they beat a good Pittsburgh team in the first round. And I think every like I think I mean it was like kind of beautiful to see when the Flyers fans gave the Flyers like a standing ovation after that game for even Rod Brindamore was like recognizing the fandom of the Flyers. So so that was a you know, that was cool. And they it was a good year for the Flyers. Now the Sixers, it was I mean, they did have the great first round win that was surprising, but it that turned in about a week. Like it every, you know, you're not gonna find many people happy about the Sixers right now. That was just a brutal series with the Knicks and ownership and Daryl Morey just got fired, and it's just kind of a mess right now. Yeah, I think it's a tale of two sports teams, right? You know, you've got one that both of them went to the gallows, but one was just smiling, I mean, super happy to be there, and the other one was I think happy to be there, but then you you met the same demise. I mean, we've we've watched this story before for the Sixers, and we just keep hitting this glass ceiling, which is the second round of the NBA playoffs. We haven't been to the finals in 25 years. Eastern Conference, much less the NBA finals. Sad. 25 years. 25 years. That's a long time, Dan. Yeah. That's a number for you, Stat Boy. 25. Yeah, yeah. What do you think of that number? It's too long, is what it is.
Stat BoyYeah, but uh, you know my stance here. Yeah.
Dr. TATI I I saw this coming since the process, but we're he yeah, I will say Statboy has been so anti-pro for for a man who is very much a formulaic, methodical, dare I say uh annoyingly uh statistically focused man, he hated the process. Yeah, yeah. And it was it more hinky or was it the process itself? Do you you just hate losing? Is that what it is?
Stat BoyYou're yeah, I am so rewind. I am a Sixers fan. But the premise of purposely losing to become better, to become a multi-championship team in the future, I thought was a ridiculous premise from the start. So from my stance, I dedicated my uh opposite uh appreciation for the Sixers. I started to bet the no pass line upon the Sixers because the process I thought was a disgrace to the NBA as well as the city itself. And I think at the end of that next series, and we saw the reaction of how Philadelphia was overtaken by the city of New York based on how the sucks destroyed us. Yeah, I think I think that's where we ended. Painful, painful.
Dr. TATYeah, yeah. I mean, I respect Statboy's position. He's been a loyal advocate of that argument. And my my only not with Statboy's take, but I I even see it in the news still, where a lot of folks say, Oh, do you still trust the process, etc.? And my only pet peeve with that is the process in my perspective, and I'm you know, I was pretty close to it and like just like re you know, like was pretty close to it. Like sorry for the process ended when Sam Hinky resigned, and the rest was just a bunch of fluff, like with Coangelo and everyone. So I just think like the yeah, I don't like when people still are like, oh, the process didn't like failed. Like it failed when ownership gave up on the Hinky in 2016, and then there still was some potential there with like all the tools they had, you know, all the assets they had, and it just coAngelo and all those guys, you know, they just screwed it up. So well, some would argue uh you might have a touch of revisionist history there, Panda, because you know, I believe Embiid within the first year or two of his tenure at the Sixers decided to call himself the process. And so I almost aligned Embiid and the process as one and the same. So I feel like he is going to be always representative of that process. And I feel like we're at we're at kind of the end here, huh? The end of the end of the process. Are we processed? E D. I think you gotta put the E. We're we're definitely process E, right? Like it's P-R-O-C-E-S-S-E. Is the D is the D coming down? Oh, the D's coming down. The D's coming down. Is the D dropping on the Sixers now? Then it's going to be we're going to be processed.
Stat BoyIt's over.
Dr. TATI mean, and Bede's the final Jedi of the process, right? He is. He is. I mean, I I think until he leaves, then I guess there's still always that life. And and I'd like to throw another metaphor right back at you, Panda, and say that, you know, you either die the hero or you live long enough to become processed. And and we're becoming processed. And so, you know, Embiid, it and I don't I do not bear any ill will to Joel Embiid. In fact, I do think he's going to be, you know, when we're all uh probably in like the 1124th inaugural episode of the Set Hug podcast, we'll all be sitting here and Embiid will be probably one of the top five to ten athletes I'll think of in my lifetime of watching Philadelphia sports. So I don't I don't really don't have ill will towards him. It's rather that the the nucleus, all the different nuclei, if you will, that's the middle of an atom. Okay. Yeah. Wow. So scientists. Yeah. So so it's just all the protons, right? And so Embiid's like the biggest proton, and then we've got these other protons. And then like we had a couple of electrons that just came up with the colour. He just put on a lab coat, too. And so the electrons, Dan, if if you'll if you'll bear with me, they're the ones that fly around in the area. So Embiid is always kind of in the middle there. And then we had, you know, we had Jimmy Butler flying around for a little bit, and that was a hell of an electron. I mean, I think it really was reactive. And then you had Tobias Harris kind of more of a neutron kind of sitting next to Embiid not doing anything. No, I thought Jimmy Butler was the neutron. Jimmy Neutron. No, no, that's that's a very popular Nickelodeon show. Yeah, good try. But but then, you know Ben Simmons. Yeah, right. So essentially you just you had this constant who was Joel Embiid, the process. And around him, there was just these iterations of failure. It was just never enough. And, you know, is he culpable for part of it? Some would argue, right? There were certain games and crunch times, especially against the Celtics from 2020 to 2027, 2026, 2027, that you know, I think we're gonna lose next year to them in 2027. I'm just predicting that now. But that's kind of where we're at. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, I saw just quick NBA stats real quick. Since he brought that up, I I think Embiid's gonna be the first, or he's the he's the only MVP in the NBA that hasn't made it past the second round. So that that's kind of interesting. And that reminded me of Derek Rose is also the only MVP that probably won't be in the NBA Hall of Fame. So kind of interesting. Yeah. But um so yeah, so we'll see. Yeah, it's it's a tough time, and I think you somehow we have to. How are we gonna rise up? We yeah, right. And another thing in electromagnetism that I think Stat Boy could help me with, actually, more mathematical, actually. If we take a negative and we multiply it by a negative, what do we get? We get a positive. We get a positive, and what we have to do, Panda Dan, is we have to stay positive because there's a lot of exciting things going on. The flyers did end up kind of failing, but what's going on this week? What do you what do you think's cooking that we're we're gonna host? Yeah, well, right here in the backyard of the Philadelphia area, we have the PGA championship, one of the majors of the four one of the four majors of the PGA tour. What does PGA stand for? It's the first PGA major in the Philadelphia area in one million years. No, I was gonna say since Marion. Since the dawn of time. Wow. PGA stays. Is Marion at U.S. Open? Oh, I'm sorry. I'm interrupting you. I'm so sorry. So I wanted to answer, I didn't answer your question right away. Yeah. You're probably sitting here like, is he gonna answer my bad podcasting right now? Professional golf association. Uh-huh. But yeah, so the PG the Mar the U.S. Open was at Marion in 2013, I believe. Justin Rose won. And then this year. There have been other tour, like non-major tournaments on the PGA tour at courses around here, but this is the next major PGA championship at Eronomic. And I mean, heck, I mean, should we call someone? Well, you know, it's it's so funny you should say that because I think we have the privilege, and you know, this is just such a great sports town. Nick's be damned. I do not care. Don't tell me what you think. Don't tell me what I can't do. But I think actually, Panda, I think we've got a very, very special team that we can call here to kind of go through this. So let's let's get them on. Yeah, yeah. I think we, you know, the obviously our podcast is getting super popular. We have various countries listening, various cities. And shout out, Bobre. We were able to yeah, get collaborating here with a great podcast called Golf 215. Golf 215, and they're a local podcast, and and they they only talk about golf. 215, which is another number. That's an area code. So, yeah, let's see if I can get uh now. This one's a 215 number. Let's get let's get things going here. Very exciting. It is, it is. What's it Joe? Joe, it's Dr. Tat at the Stat Seth Podcast. You're live to record. How are you? Doing well, how are you, my friend? Doing quite well. I'm gonna get your buddy on real quick. We will get Anthony on shortly here. Yeah. Anthony! Yeah, welcome, Joe. Thank you very much for joining. We're happy to have you, especially during this PGA championship week. And we're calling.
SPEAKER_00This is Anthony.
Dr. TATHello, is this Anthony? Yes, Anthony, it's Dr. Tad at the Set Hike Podcast. You're live to record. I got Joe on the other line. I'm gonna get you guys together here. Gentlemen, can you hear me? Joe and Anthony. Hello?
SPEAKER_03Yes, sir. Gotcha. Yes, sir.
Dr. TATFantastic. Well, welcome to the Set Hike Podcast. And it is an honor to have you guys on uh golf 215. Tell us a little bit about yourselves.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, for sure. So we are just two Northeast Philly guys. We're kind of uh transplants in Montgomery County suburbs now. Just all around golf nerds, love to play golf, talk about golf. So Anthony started the podcast about four years ago, originally under a different name. He was originally driver off the deck. But about two years ago, two years ago this week, I think, we officially rebranded as golf 215. Wanted to make it a little bit more recognizable, you know, kind of call out the fact that we're trying to tailor and serve the Philadelphia area. But the the main goal is like I said, we love to talk golf, play golf, but we're trying to build a little community, right? Like find some people in the area that want to get out and play and you know, join events or even just hit it up on a Saturday or Sunday. So that was really the the gist of it and and how we started, and we love it. We've been going going strong for a little while now.
Dr. TATYeah, it's really impressive. I I'll tell you, I we I I had a chance to listen to a couple of the episodes, especially this week, and we'll get into the PGA championship, but I love the name. I feel like you really fit the bill of kind of Philadelphia golf kind of excitement. And just briefly from our standpoint, we're kind of a bunch of dunces on our side. We we just joke around, we we really focus on sports stats and shenanigans. I think the birds are probably the main one we talk about the most, but this time of year, it's just so nice to find another group and and I can't think of a better year to talk about the PGA championship.
SPEAKER_03Oh, it's it's it's really cool. And before we uh before we get into the actual event, you know, the one thing that I'll that I'll hit you guys with, you know, Anthony and I were talking about this the other day. Having this event in Philly is really awesome. And like if you're not paying attention, you might not see this. But if you like to golf and you like to get out there and you're from Philly or you know, like the area, there is a tremendous influx right now of Philadelphia themed golf apparel, accessories, head covers, balls, anything you can think of. Like it normally you don't see it, but there is a ton of it by every major brand out there right now. So it's a great time to stock up your bag if you want some some Philly themed apparel in your bags.
Dr. TATYeah, that's good to know. That's great. Yeah, yeah, that's great. Yeah, so uh again, I think you know, going into and I don't want to, and everyone should listen who listened to the Set Hike podcast, listen to Golf 215 because you guys did an outstanding, you know, preparation, even did a draft for kind of the PGA golfers. But you know, what do you think about Ironamic and and how do you see this tournament going?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, guys, I'll I'll jump in here. I really appreciate you guys having us on. Aonomake is a fantastic course. It's actually kind of shocking to think that there's a course like this right in the middle of Philadelphia. When you I I got a chance to actually play the course last year, and when you pull in like from the city into the little development that Aranamake is placed at, you really get the feeling like you're in the middle of a countryside and that you're not even the middle of Philadelphia. They do a fantastic job of keeping the course updated, maintained, and just the way Donald Ross wanted his greens to be manicure, I will say. It's a tough test. The guys playing here this week should should have their hands full. Donald Ross? Who's that?
Dr. TATThat's our guy Stat Boy. That's our guy Stat Boy. He's probably the least golf literate, so if he just he'll interject random sentences and uh feel free to answer them or just ignore them.
SPEAKER_00Gotcha. He's a golf course designer, well known for, I don't know if you're familiar with Pine Earse number two, oh yeah, or other courses from the area such as Jeffersonville, but he's known for having greens that have false fronts or turtle shell greens where the ball has a tough time staying on them. So if you're watching this week, you're probably gonna see a lot of a lot of balls not being able to stay on the green.
SPEAKER_03Think about it this way it's like trying to putt on the hood of a Volkswagen beetle.
SPEAKER_00Oh, wow. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Every every that's a good way to describe it. Every green this man creates is just meant for pain. Those courses are always gorgeous. That's fantastic.
Dr. TATYeah. I, you know, it's funny because the PGA championship, it's often, you know, longer courses. I would say this is going to be a shorter PGA championship in terms of eronomic, but I think the challenges are gonna come from exactly what you said. You know, I think good iron play will help get people onto the green, but then you're still gonna be working and you're gonna see a lot of two and three putts in and reading those type of greens. And my my wife actually was just at the practice round today, and she saw Fleetwood at at hole number 11 taking 40 putts on that green, just trying to read all and it's funny, there's different shades of the actual grass suggesting different directions, like you guys are talking about.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah, and wherever they put the pin placements this week, they're gonna have their hands full. I mean, you could be in the front right of the green and see something completely different than the back left. So, yeah, they'll have their hands full. I think the other thing that's gonna that's gonna trip them off is the rough. The rough's pretty thick.
Dr. TATYeah, I was just gonna ask you about that, because I think you guys mentioned that on your pod. You yeah, can you talk a little about the rough? It seemed like that's very unique compared to some of the other courses.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, there was a video of Chris Goderra on from Monday on a practice round, and he's standing in the rough, and he's just off the fairway, maybe two feet into the rough, and the grass is above his shoots. Oh man. Yeah, and he's hitting this shot out of there, and he actually makes pretty decent contact, gets the ball out, but this entire doormat of grass comes flying out and hits one of the caddies standing next to him. So they're gonna have their hands full. It's pretty wild.
Dr. TATYeah, no, that's remarkable. And and I think going to some of the players that are gonna be playing this weekend, you know, obviously we've got a lot of momentum from McElroy. It it's funny because Speeth, you know, Jordan Speeth, who came out of the gates, you know, to start his career basically with his head on fire, now is missing the PGA championship for uh for his career slam. Do you think he can compete? I I this might be a tough course for him. I I just always have been a Speith fan myself.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so I mean I'm a big I'm a big Speed fan, having for a while now. I don't know. Coming into this, he seems to be getting like hot, but like it's kind of hit or miss. Like he'll be he'll play well on a Thursday, but then not on Friday, then play well on Saturday, and then kind of back off on Sunday. I I don't really know. We have this joke going right now where somewhere there's a milk carton with Jordan Speath on the side of it. So I I hope he comes out of the uh the the woods soon. And I I don't know. I mean maybe maybe it is his week, but he's not playing as consistent as some other people. I I think a couple people to watch for is Justin Rose and Ricky Baylor. I think Chris Goddard up as well. I've been kind of chatting him up now this season. I I think he is somebody that can win a major.
Dr. TATYeah, yeah. I heard I heard another analyst say that today about God or up too. So there's definitely you know optimism for him. Justin Rose is interesting. I mean, before that, too. Obviously, I mean Scheffler's the favorite, but like it seems like he's sort of due. He's been coming close the past few tournaments, and he's only won one in 2026. So he's definitely his iron game's been tough. Yeah, he's not he's not hitting quite as well as he did before. Justin Rose, which I th you guys mentioned this on your podcast, he came in second at Ironamic at 28 in 2018 at a tournament at Ironamic, and then he won one back in 2010. I was looking. I don't know if you guys saw that, but like I thought that was crazy. And then he also won obviously the US Open at Murray in in 2013. So it seems like Justin Rose has like some good luck in Philadelphia being from England. And yeah, I want it, and also he's just obviously a great guy, you know, he had a great performance at the Masters. And yeah, I wanted to get your guys' thoughts more on Justin Rose to see if you think he has a legitimate shot. If if Speath is on a milk carton somewhere, I I think Justin Rose just found the fountain of youth because he's playing as good as possible, man.
SPEAKER_03He r he really is, and and we're we're all big Rose fans over here. He's got some similarities to Speath where he really needs to keep the mental game on track, right? Because if things start to fall off, they start to fall off. Anthony and I were watching Sunday of the Masters together, and he actually called out the moment that Rose was gonna go off the tracks, like right before it happened. He he was appro he was about to hit his approach shot. I want to say it was like 10 or 13.
Dr. TATYeah, towards A-Man Carter, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah, and he backed off twice, and Anthony just goes up. And that was right around the that was right around the point where he just kind of like started to fade away. But if he can keep his head in it, you know, he's been right in the mix for a lot of these recent majors. We're always pulling for him. The one thing that I'll add, especially for for any of your listeners, right? So I imagine you guys have a lot of sports fans, but yeah, maybe some that don't follow a whole lot of golf.
Stat BoyExactly.
SPEAKER_03Golf has golf has its own like backstories and drama and like you know, things to follow along with. So just to add some context for any of your listeners that that may not follow as closely, hitting a grand sl uh a grand slam, right? Like winning all three. PGA majors hasn't been done since 2000, right? So Tiger did it in 2000, and then Rory did it this year. So there's 26 years between someone completing their career on Grand Slam. So Rory did it this year with the Masters. And now we have two more shots this year where if George and Ken pull it together and win this week, that would close it out for him. And then Scotty's got a chance in a couple weeks, a couple more weeks at the U.S. Open. So 2026 could wind up being a really crazy year for golf if even one of those happens, right? Scotty's always in the mix, so you gotta think that the US Open is definitely fair game.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_03But if we get down to Saturday or Sunday and Jordan's Jordan's near the leaderboard, pay attention to that because that could be a real real big storyline.
Dr. TATAnd and I think that's great for golf, right? Like and and I I would love to get your guys' opinion on this. I'm calling this, and I hate saying this, but I feel like we're pretty much approaching the post-Tiger Woods era, right? And you know, we have to start thinking about how golf's going to mature. And there's I think Chefler, well, it's in good hands, needless to say. I think that I don't know, I'm I imagine you guys watch the Netflix series, you know, full swing and and watching that Ryder Cup battle they had this past season, what you know, they do the following season, Dan, basically. It just shows that golf's in still very much in a good space. And to your point, I mean, it would be wild to see something that happens once a quarter century happen maybe multiple times in one calendar year would be uh absurd, you know, when you think about it.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, and I I just want to so I listened to your last I was checking out your your pot your podcast, and one of the things in your last episode that I love was if you're gonna be wrong, be confidently wrong. Yep, yeah. Right. That's what we live by. Yeah, and and I just did that, and Statboy didn't even call me out on it yet.
Stat BoyYeah, it's it's I was I'm just sitting here enjoying all this nice golf conversation. I don't want to.
SPEAKER_03Well, I was just re I was just reminded that Rory actually completed his grand slam last year. Yeah, he did win again this year.
Dr. TATYeah, yeah, no, it's yeah, stat boy was, you know, he I think we we just woke him up, so he's uh he's picking it up now. But no, it's it's a great point. Yeah, and and any dark horses, who who do you think could come out of out of the pack that you wouldn't expect?
SPEAKER_03Ooh, Anthony, I'll let you go first on that.
SPEAKER_00Thanks. I really appreciate that. I think there's a bunch of people that played really well at Augusta and who are kind of riding the momentum. Just kind of a couple guys to watch. I would say Sam Burns, Cam Young, and then I would also look at the Hogarts, too. Both of them have a tremendous short game or approach game into the green, and like Rose, you're going to need that in this player. So I would look at one of those two.
SPEAKER_03I'm surprised you didn't go with your boy Goddard off. Yeah, I don't think he's a dark horse anymore, though. So that's true. I'll throw a dark horse for you. So if you're looking at the odds, right? Right up the top, you have some of the the normal names, your Scotty's, your Rory's. Matt Fitzpatrick's really Matt Fitzpatrick's really high up there on the uh on the odds this time around.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_03We were talking about Alex Fitzpatrick.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_03My man's been riding a hot hand. Is he gonna win? I don't know, but he's he's been hot. It'd be great to see him make some noise and and threaten a little bit.
Dr. TATYeah. Yeah, I've been following golf much more this year than any other year in my life, to be honest. And yeah, I thought that was interesting. Like Matt Fitzpatrick's been playing, he's having a great year. And then at Zurich, where they they play in teams, right? Like they won Matt and Alex, the Fitzpatrick Brothers, and then and it's funny because like at the time I was like, oh, like Alex lucked out by playing with his brother, and then yeah, these tournaments following that, like Alex has been kind of at the top of the leaderboards. It's been pretty interesting. Yeah, missed.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, you mentioned you mentioned Full Swing. That first season of Full Swing did a really good piece on on Alex and Matt. We were joking around that that was Alex Fitzpatrick's villain origin story. But then by the time the episode was over, like that actually might have been Matt's villain origin story.
Dr. TATYeah, yeah. Yeah, 100%. How about I I saw that in Sapboy, I think has something to say, but real quick, there is there's a loc, I mean, I don't know if you guys know about like I don't I I assume this guy has no, you know, not a great chance to win, but I thought it was very cool that there's a local guy in the tournament, right? From from rolling green country club in Springfield. Do you know anything about that guy? Or like is that is that just a common thing where they have like I'm not sure who that is. You can look it up too, Stat Boy, if we can I don't know the name. He's furiously typing away. We're pretty close to rolling green. That's why we I don't know. There's like a pro from rolling green country club in the tournament. In the PJ Championship. I guess it's like he's like a local amateur or something, but yeah. They can play the PJ Champion. I thought that was for the open, though.
SPEAKER_00I don't know. I think he's in the tournament. Braden Shatuk. So Braendon Yeah, Shaituk is playing this week. Yeah. Oh yeah, he might oh he's he qualified through. So there's a tournament that all of the head professional uh golf pros from all the different country clubs play in that they can then qualify to play in the PGA championship. There's a there's another head professional. He kind of he's qualified a few years in a row now, Michael Bloch. He was he kind of came out like two years ago when he had like a he actually made a run at at winning it on Sunday. He ended up having a hole in one when he was paired with with Rory, and he's just a a golf pro at a country club.
Stat BoyHe's also plus 100,000. Plus a hundred thousand. Yeah, put a nickel on that. That's definitely where you want to put it off. Yeah, let's go, boys.
Dr. TATYeah, but he's I I just googled him. Yeah, so he's opening up with Alex Fitzpatrick at 6 45 a.m. on Thursday. Full circle, gentlemen. Full circle. That's outstanding. Yeah, go ahead.
SPEAKER_03So here's what I'll tell you guys if you're if you're thinking about stuff like that. Don't go for that $100,000 swing. It's not gonna hit. But for for a guy like Michael Block or you know, this other guy, could they make the cut? Maybe.
Dr. TATThat's a good bet.
SPEAKER_03So that might be that might be a worth a you know, make the cut bet, something like that. Oh, true, yeah. A lot less risk, a lot less, a lot more opportunity for them to potentially uh do it.
Dr. TATAnd still very exciting, right? I mean, you know, it's it's just it's it's so fun to have a major in the Philadelphia area. It's been a long time. I wanted to, you know, and respect your guys' time, but I have a couple quick hitters here, and this goes in the shenanigan side of our podcast. So quick fire here, favorite golf movie.
SPEAKER_03Oh man. You know, I'm not gonna give the obvious answer. I'm I'm a comedy guy, right? So I'm not gonna give the obvious answer of Happy Gilmore. I just really love Tin, I really love Tin Cop.
SPEAKER_00Great, great film.
SPEAKER_03I don't know why, but it was just a good movie.
SPEAKER_00All right, I'm gonna I'm gonna keep it light. I'm gonna go with Caddysha.
Dr. TATClassic. Fantastic. Yeah, I I you know, Gilmore. We we actually had we joke around because Dan was the only one who had seen Happy Gilmore 2 for a while. And I don't know if we should should we even acknowledge Happy Gilmore 2, gentlemen.
SPEAKER_03I haven't seen it yet. You know what's funny? I Anthony and I just talked about it. We talk about golf every day. I haven't seen it yet.
Dr. TATI gotta see it. It's pretty good.
SPEAKER_03You just expect it to be a cameo best if that's mine. It is a haircut.
Dr. TATYou guys, you guys hit the nail on the head. And uh, you know what? See, Dan, the golf 215 gentleman, you know, the the experts in golf, don't you know, Happy Gilmore 2 is just a title to them, you know.
SPEAKER_03It's not uh I'll get around to it. It'll eventually happen. I'm just not it's just not on the hot side on high end of the priority list.
Panda DanYeah.
Stat BoySo yeah, before you guys I guess get out of here, I know I really appreciate your time as well, the stat boy here. I just wanted to give you a little taste of some stats from Aironomic. Yeah, and then throw some at you. You probably know these, but our audience probably doesn't. So we're just gonna throw them out. So, first off, Aronymic is has a pretty rare flex as a course in and itself. It's one of the only courses that has all original 18 holes that were designed by Donald Ross still in existence. Wow. So it's like one of the first. We also have it was relocated in the Philadelphia area multiple times. So it wasn't just in one spot from when it first originated in 1928. So it's been moved around a little bit. That's where you get that suburbanization of the uh the course around you know the you know, the suburbs of Philadelphia. We were talked about the Rose tournament in 2018, that was the BW, yeah, the BNW championship. The course record there is 62. Four players scored 62 in that tournament. Wow. Yeah, they all tied it, and it was with Tiger and Rory, who were two of those guys. So that was that was a pretty good one. And then it actually has a pretty strong caddy lure, apparently. A gentleman named John McDermott, he's actually the first American-born US Open champion. He learned to play or learned to be a caddy at Eronomic. There you go. Yeah, so there's just such great roots here. Can you do that?
SPEAKER_03Sorry, go ahead. I'll just say I'll have to send some money in to get a subscription to Stat GPT. Oh, dude, it's yeah.
Dr. TATWe we now have the human version, which is much slower, but it's it's working out well. Yeah. Better presentation. Yeah. And my my last question for you guys, and and thanks again. You know how the Masters, there's always kind of that honorary first drive to start the tournament. Uh as golf 215 experts, who would you put bring out there? Let's say Ironimic for the PGA championship. Who do you who do you hand a driver to in the Philadelphia area to let them take a hack at it to start the weekend off?
SPEAKER_00You know, my could go wrong with rolling out the Philly fanatic, gritty.
Dr. TATYeah, I was thinking gritty. That'd be fire. Absolute fire. I was also thinking of Ron Jaworski if we wanted to do kind of like this elderly emeritus just because of like all his just roll jaws out, and you know, he has half a shoulder that he can try and hack.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, Barkley's a great one.
Dr. TATA nice hitch in the swing. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. I I always think Jason Kelsey when I think Philly, but he's been so oversaturated lately. Yeah.
Dr. TATYeah. Yeah, that's that's the one negative there. But plus he's a rival podcast of ours. Yeah, yeah. He rivals you us, you know. You know, we all have to stick together us local sheets to his market for sure. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03I think I saw that we were like just maybe like like five to ten percent below his users or his listeners. Yeah, that's right.
Dr. TATI think we're both like very close behind. Yeah, absolutely. I would put our odds at about a hundred thousand to one. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, don't look that one up, Statboy. Let's go test.
Dr. TATI I believe we talked about being confidently wrong, and I I I couldn't be more confident in what your statement was, therefore.
SPEAKER_03Very confident on that one, yeah.
Dr. TATGentlemen, can you can you uh just plug your socials here and uh let everyone know about golf215? And again, it's it's a pleasure chatting with you guys.
SPEAKER_03For sure. We we we appreciate that. And we are golf215 Social Club, just about everywhere. So that's gonna be Instagram, which is our main our main source, TikTok, Facebook. Our website is golf215 social club.com. So check us out there. And the other thing that I'll plug is like we we we're trying to host an event in July. We'd love to have you guys out if you want to come play or even if you want to just hit it up some weekend, just give us a shout.
Stat BoyYeah, that sounds awesome.
SPEAKER_00Sweet. That would be fantastic. You guys can also find us on YouTube as well. Golf215 on YouTube.
Dr. TATOh, and now it's just golf 215. Okay. Fantastic. Joe, Anthony, it's an absolute pleasure. Enjoy the weekend, and yeah, we'll have to chat up again, maybe a recap at some point, gentlemen. Yeah, love it. Yeah, thanks for having us. Yeah, thanks so much. Thanks for having us on appreciate it. Take care, boys. Yeah. See you. And there you have it, folks. That was awesome. Joe and Anthony of Golf 215 Podcast. I mean, just down-to-earth great guys who just, you know, I believe Mont Montgomery County, so kind of northeast Philadelphia, and now are in the suburbs. You know, I used to work up in those parts and you know just genuine good people there. So uh shout out to Joe and Anthony and and anyone here at the Seth Podcast that's interested, please. You know, if you're golf curious or even just golf you know, golf adjacent, you know, in the area, like you live next to the courses. Yeah, yeah, you should reach out to them. But yeah, good stuff. What do you think, Stab? Stab boy. What do I think? Stab Panda. I mean, he looked at Panda and he looked at Stephanie. He really wants to know what you think. It was my Matthew Stafford no look. Yeah, no, I thought that was awesome. Yeah, I mean, that yeah, golf's a big, big deal in Philly, right, obviously, right now, and it is a fun, you know, sport to follow once you get into it. I mean, we cover all sports, so yeah, like I'd like to echo what what Dr. Tat said. If anyone ever wants to come on, talk about a various event or sporting event in the area, like we're happy to talk about it. And and yeah, that was a real thrill to have uh Goff 215, Joe and Anthony on. That was awesome. And if your podcast ends in 215, we will get you on, you know, kind of expeditiously, I think, Dan. You know, chess 215, badminton 215, pickleball 215. We're all in there. Yeah, right? Philly strong, baby. Let's go. Philly strong 215's the area code.
Stat BoyAlthough, you know, it's funny. We're all 6'10s. We're all 6'10s.
Dr. TATI was about to say we're all just a bunch of Delco guys just hang huddled around. Now, in our defense, Eronomic has been relocated to our region, so who knows if it'll go to Montgomery County in the future. But that was that's good work by you, Stat Boy. And and you even have a Stat GPT fan. Although that's your direct competitor, I think. Yeah, don't worry. We'll we'll absorb them.
Stat BoyThey'll become bonabars.
Dr. TATYeah, yeah, I think so. We just have to talk to the RD department. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, that was awesome. What did you say about Ardmore? It's getting red. I I didn't know that. Is that Ardmore? Did you just say something that's no eronimic? Relocated so many relocated so many times. I was expecting that to have. Ardmore, I don't think, is getting relocated. I am a fan of Ardmore. Yeah, yeah. I actually I'm adjacent to Ardmore. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, I have like yeah, grandparents from Ardmore. Like I'm pretty familiar with that. Now there's some there's a really nice uh there's a good ice cream place in Ardmore I went to recently that was just uh delicious. Well then you also wasn't there a new bagel place there too? There is a new that's that's part of the suburban square. Yeah, yeah. Now the plate now what's interesting about that place, Dan, and I'm gonna go call it again a pop uh pop-a-bagel, papa shot or something. Yeah. Uh no free ads, right, Stat Boy? Yeah, it's not pop-up bagels. Yeah, they don't pop up. Definitely not pop-up bagels in suburban bagels. It's not that. But but what they do is it's a non-sandwich bagel shop. And it's they don't they don't cut the bagel. You you actually are supposed to tear the bagel with your hands, your fingers, what? And then dip it in different type of dip sauces, dips. I guess it would be dips, like cream cheese is of various sorts. Cheese spreads and I'll give it like I'll give it a B B It gets a long line. I'll give it like a B and a half. I'd like to get I like Shake Shack. I'll get like a milkshake from there. Is that where you get your Yeah, when I uh you know, listen, I'm a very busy man, but you go to Shake Shack and ask for a bagel? No, and you're gonna be like.
Stat BoyNow you realize that a half a B is a D, so you just really gave it a D. I mean, if you cut the letter in half, it's a D. I never thought of it that way. Yeah, well now you did.
Dr. TATWell, you have to turn the B on its side to then cut it, and then you have to turn it back, right? I don't know.
Stat BoyYou can slice at it. Well, are you samurai? Are you slicing horizontally or have you ever played like fruit?
Dr. TATI mean, but listen, if you slice a B vertically, it becomes a 13, which is bad luck. Yeah, we won't want that. And that's a number we don't want. Fours and 13s. I've never done that. Yeah. Yeah. So anyway, so then I get the milkshake at Shake Shack, and there's like a hundred people in this line at the bagel place, yeah. Oh, I see. I had no idea what where Shake Shack came into play, but it is adjacent to the cross the way there. Yeah. So shout out. How about now when you have a bagel, Dan? Are you a cream cheese, butter, you you do the breakfast sandwich? I like both. Yeah, I do like both. Like I I like both butter and cream cheese. Usually I do butter more because I I don't always have cream cheese. So separate like the bagels all of one.
Stat BoyYeah, yeah. I mean there. You don't do a half of butter and half of I mean that would be insane.
Dr. TATI don't know.
Stat BoyHe kind of said it like that.
Dr. TATNo, no, like I mean I could do both. Like if you get either one, I I'm happy with both. But okay. Okay, that's fair. It would you say lifetime? You've buttered bagels or cheesed bagels more. Lifetime.
Stat BoyYou've buttered bagels way more. How much cheese? Now that's another thing. I've seen people go crazy with the cream cheese. I'll talk like half a block on a half. Do we go that much or do we do just enough? That much, but just enough?
Dr. TATYeah, like more like I don't I'm not shy with it. Like, I'll go a healthy amount. Yeah.
Stat BoyAnd then God bless my mother-in-law. She uses an entire block for a half.
Dr. TATOh, yeah. Absolutely.
Stat BoyYeah, you asked that question in a way that you had life experience with.
Dr. TATDoes she use the Philly cream cheese or different? Oh, yeah, absolutely. It's all falling version. Yeah. So, and then if if you're having a breakfast sandwich, what's what's the idea? If they have croissant.
SPEAKER_05I'm wearing Chanel cologne.
Dr. TATI need a croissant. Boy. You're really uh I'll tell you. He's just drinking. Folks, he's coming to the tailgates next next year to the Eagles. I brought my croissant. What's your favorite? I believe how do you say cheese in French? It's Dan those French. Fromage. Fromage? Yeah. Fromage, croissant. And then what's your what's your meat? Jambon. Jambon? Jabon? Jambon. Oh, mon Dieu. That's that would be bacon. Ham. So you're a ham, egg, and cheese? Well, I'm actually bacon, but I just wanted to say jambon. Well, how do you say bacon in French? I don't know. Unfortunately, your your mom got doxxed on the episode last week thanks to the ice clowns. But once again, shout out to the ice clowns. Yeah. Good time. We probably should have said this at the beginning. I I hope we well, we we were going to, and then you you wanted to set it up here. So I hope all of our female listeners and male listeners. Female listeners that are mothers had a wonderful Mother's Day. And our male listeners that and yeah, I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day with their mother. Great sex for their mother. Or if they have a wife that's a mother, we're going down school we do not want to go down. Oh boy. This I mean, I'm I'm just thinking to myself, that was such a lovely way to kind of just step on a couple of shit out of it. For all the men who mothers have sired their day.
Stat BoyLet's get back to the French word to bake it. Yeah, what? Le law. It's la la.
Dr. TATMy mother in French is mere. I forget. But the reason I the reason I brought it up, moms, was I that does your speak French? I believe she's she's a multilinguist, correct? Yeah, yeah. She very smart. Yeah. Brilliant woman. Yeah. Very French. Shout out. Yeah, she's a world language teacher, so she speaks Spanish. She taught Spanish, French. I think she taught German when she was younger. Wasn't there a stint where she taught us a little bit of Latin too? No, no. Who taught us Latin at Dots? There was somebody, I thought it was associated with your I think she came in once to teach Spanish and French, because that's what she taught. But yeah. And that yeah, it's funny you remember that. But yeah, we did have that Latin teacher. It was like a nun that thought. Remember the uh Sister Mary? Yep, yep, yep. Dead language. I mean, yeah, uh stare down. She had the legendary stare down. Who did she stare down? I can't remember. It was whoever Miss Beh. Maybe we call it like the Latin stare of doom. I don't think she's a listener, so we're like, don't don't think. But but yeah, so I you know, coming into this weekend. So the our Latin teacher was like I want to say thank you. That was respectful to teach us. Yeah, you know what? We shouldn't speak ill of of mothers that way, you know? Yeah. I don't know if she did she was she a mother though. I don't know. Was she a nun? She was a nun. Yeah, she was unlikely to be a mother. There's no like deacon version of a nun, right? There's no deacon version of a nun. Yeah, I didn't think so. No luck. But yeah, so this weekend I think we'll be eating, uh I'll be eating some terrible bagels. Shake shack Fermage bagel with extra with a block of cream cheese on there.
Stat BoyYou know what? My you know, under the radar, I don't think anybody does this, but one of my under-the-radar versions of a bagel sandwiches, down the shore. I like getting a poppy seed bagel, putting cream cheese on there with a nice slice of Jersey tomato with salt on the tomato, slap that bad boy together. You got yourself a fantastic breakfast sandwich down the shore.
Dr. TATI think you described one that's quite well, and you're right, a good Jersey tomato dough goes a long way. Oh, absolutely. A little salt, so you gotta salt it. Yeah.
Stat BoyIs it from a specific place down the shore or like anywhere down the shore? You know, I I visit multiple shore points. I don't really have a specific place. He's the place that's the least on weight. He's a sure nomad.
Dr. TATHe has no I'm a shooby by heart.
Stat BoyHe's a shooby by heart.
Dr. TATRespect. Yeah. He he's not familiar with that. But that's a good point. Yeah, the Jersey tomatoes are really good. Like when they're at the end. This is the best. Yeah, they're awesome. It's the absolute best. Yeah, no, it's it's exciting times. And I think the PGA championship will be a lot of fun. Yeah. We also do have the Preakness stakes this weekend. Now, I don't have like a full I I actually, yeah, I still have to do my research, I'll be honest. But we recorded a little earlier this week, but but I will. But I know O'Celli, he was the third third place finisher in the Kentucky Derby, the big long shot. He's never won a race, but he's he's in the preakness. Incredible. He was, I think, sixth in the Derby. He'll be in the Preakness. But a lot of like the top ones aren't I think they're waiting for the Belmont, like Renegade and Golden Tempo and You'll have to ask little Tat, you know who he likes on Saturday. Yeah, I mean, he he was so excited. He was so excited for the triple crown. Great white will be the bet. I almost guarantee it. And I hope I hope Great White just goes all Draymond green and gets ejected again right before the race. That would be a lot of fun. Now, have you guys been to Pimlico?
Stat BoyWell, hold on. Whoa, slow down. Slow down. Whoa. Yeah, please. Okay, so first off, my disclaimer is I did not listen to the last episode at all. So I had no idea what you guys discussed. But if I had to make some corrections from last episode, one of the corrections I would make is the preaked this year is not at Pimlico. Yeah. It's in Laurel Park, which is 40 minutes south of it. Pimlico is under construction right now. The horses will be 40 minutes south before. And how many furlongs away are they going to be? Now you gotta make hundreds for it? Probably a couple hundred, right? Oh yeah. It's uh 40 minutes, it's probably what? It's probably like 20, 30, 35.
Dr. TATHow much does a banana cost, Michael? $12? No, it's it's good. And you know, I I did want to bring up the preakness because as as you know, I and Statboy, if he ever actually participates in anything outside of his own episodes of the podcast, will know I'm anti-horse racing. Really? Not anti-horse, anti-horse racing. Oh yeah. We talked about that. And what's interesting is that you know, one of the jockeys, Christian Torres, was fined five thousand dollars and suspended for excessive whip use during the Kentucky Derby. Is it was that during the race or at another point? Well, who's to say? I mean, he could have been whipping them behind closed doors for months before this, but you know, uh, I think that they said he exceeded the limit of six strikes with the riding crop.
Stat BoyHuh. So wait, wait, wait, they count the amount of strikes while do during the race?
Dr. TATYeah, I well, you know what? I think I think a lot of times in horse racing, the horses are told don't ask, don't tell, you know what I mean? Like the horses have to be silent amongst themselves.
Stat BoySo there's a whip allowance and there's a sex allowance. There's a lot of allowances in horse racing in the that's the thing, is it's a power struggle.
Dr. TATIt's amongst these small men and large beasts, and there's just this. Isn't that funny that the humor's a smaller version of the the actual thing that's Yeah, I think it's very uh but I mean, do you care to comment about any of these atrocities? I think that's great. Yeah, no, I mean they should uh yeah, if he was doing that excessively or you know aggressively, I fully Yeah, so I mean obviously that's very good that they discipline him. Yeah, and and what I want to say is that the HISA, which is the horse race integrity and safety authority. I mean, what a joke of a group. You know, they actually said that this was Torres's third offense within 180 days, so he's actually suspended. Yeah. Now I mean I never even heard it. Like I follow the jockeys, I never even heard of him. He must be like a jabroni or something. Well, I'm just gonna show you a picture here, and I know this is an audio uh podcast, but I mean this this gentleman is that looks like a horse. That looks like a guy who crops, he takes that riding crop pretty liberally, I'll say. So you're you're okay, you you're thinking because it's being policed, there's some sense of, you know, if you're going to abuse an animal, abuse him appropriately, right, Dan? No, I think it's good that they like have those rules, yeah, because that's yeah, that doesn't accept that.
Stat BoySo if he got fined, did you get like thrown into horse jail or something? Is it is there is imprisonment?
Dr. TATNo, no, no, there's no horse jail. Although it would be really funny if all the jockeys, like there was a horse-led jail, so all the horses go in. Because I would I would just think to myself how funny it would be if a horse had to try and like close a jail cell. Oh, yeah. Like how would they do it? They would have to use their like noses, right? Or their hooves, right? They have to like Yeah, but their hooves don't have any fingers.
Stat BoyNo, but they have like the horseshoe piece. I mean that helps.
Dr. TATSo you think you put the shoe in and then it would just have to turn it? Yeah, maybe.
Stat BoyBut then they would hurt their ankle. Look, I don't know this.
Dr. TATOr would it would it be more like Bojack Horseman where it's just like they're they're just standing on their two back legs and they're upright? What do you think?
Stat BoyProbably that, yeah. That seems way more ridiculous.
Dr. TATYeah. Horse jail sounds awful. Yeah, it doesn't feel good at all. That would be a rough. Did you imagine the horse shit, like the shit in the cells? Now I'm talking about a jail run by horses, not a jail in which the horses are in prison. Oh, okay. I'm assuming you're saying the humans are in the cell and the horses are like the guards and stuff.
Stat BoyYeah, that's I was thinking something else. Okay.
Dr. TATYeah, I think it's an H-I enjoy like watching that if you know, like if that was like a TV show or cartoon or something. Yeah.
Stat BoyI think I think we got an ID here, guys.
Dr. TATYeah. I I mean we're sitting on a gold mine. But I so who do you like for the Preakness? I'm sorry, Dan. You you named a few, but do you have like you have a bet I should put in loose? Yeah, I still have to look at it. Yeah, I was looking to the race before that. So like before we talked about the Kentucky Oaks is the day before. So do you know the name of the race before the Preakness stakes on the day before? It's the Pimlico process. It's the same as the name of the race is also the same as the famous drink for the Preakness. Oh, I know what's the Preakness Poe boy. No Statboy. Stat boy?
Stat BoyIt's the Black Eyed Susan. Black-eyed Susan.
Dr. TATYeah. Well, you know, I I'm not surprised that Baltimore, the a place of just such depravity, would name their drink Black Eyed Susan. It's a good drink. You know, to be honest with you, I feel like Christian Torres is just gonna come right over and grab his black-eyed Susan and his riding crop and go to town.
Stat BoyThis is also the the same racetrack that had people run across porta potties and had beers thrown at them and getting knocked off the topic.
Dr. TATYeah, I mean, uh do we I I I for all the Max Crosby fans out there, you guys dodged a bullet. I mean, this this place, I mean, why do you think Baltimore Ravens colors are black and purple to hide all the bruising that they do? Right? Black-eyed Susan, riding crop violations, pimlico, it all adds up. Sure. I'm glad we re uh you know what it's really nice, I will say, Stat Boy, because I thought we lost you for a period of time in terms of you've always been a bad person, but we never thought that we would ever get you down into the you know, just the true cesspool that is Baltimore and get you out of it, but we have. And and and you know, shout out to Lady Stat Boy for her ability to get you kind of refurbished.
Stat BoyDefinitely uh an ability for sure.
Dr. TATI'm kind of like Bane, I came out of the darkness. Yeah. No, well, no, you came from Delco, so you came from a place of you know, kindness and then went into the darkness. Went into the darkness, yeah. Yeah, and then came out.
Stat BoyYeah.
Dr. TATSo you you follow a bit more of like the two-faced now, because you half of your face is Baltimore and half isn't.
Stat BoyYeah. We can work with that. We can work that analogy.
Dr. TATOkay, good. Good.
Stat BoyYeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah.
Dr. TATPan design.
Stat BoyAll right, Dan. Did you did you look at the horses yet? Who am I going to better?
Dr. TATYeah, I I looked at the black eyed Susan, but no, I do have to still look at the I mean don't look at the black eyed Susan. There's a court date out there for that. We're gonna be fine. Yeah. Yeah, I think that's 13 horses. Staff boy could confirm. Fourteen. Fourteen. Is gr is Great White back?
Stat BoyWe said then he does have it.
Dr. TATI guarantee Little Tat is going to put money on Great White. Period end of story. And frankly, I support it. Yeah. So I mean, yeah, the Kentucky Derby was a mile and a quarter. This is a mile and three sixteenths. So it's one sixteenth less than the Kentucky Derby. Okay. No triple crown this year because Golden Tempo chose not to run. Second year in a row. Yeah. But totally fun.
Stat BoyYeah, I I do I'll do my research and we'll we'll see. But you'll make your peak picks next week, right? After the race. Yeah, it's gonna work out well for our listeners.
Dr. TATYeah, I mean, yeah, we'll see. I I just don't know who's gonna win that race. Yeah, it's a bunch of like not very well known horses in the race. Like the four that I picked were the Derby, none of them are running, and we'll see. That's that's disappointing to say the least. Yeah, but it'll still be cool to watch. Yeah. So we got that. We do also have this week, which will be a big news thing, the Eagles schedule release. So they already did leak two of the two of the games. We and we talked about this last week, remember? No, I don't. We kind of teased it. Yeah. And no one was and then like by this weekend, it was like everyone listened to the Sunday podcast and was like, oh, the NFS schedule release is coming. So the two that they announced so far, the Eagles will be playing Thanksgiving at 4 30. 4 30 at in in Dallas Calvin. Well before the meal, which is nice. Yeah, not you, you know before my meal. Yeah, yeah. 9 p.m. I'll be sitting down enjoying my meal.
Stat BoyAnd that was one of our first conversations on this pod, right? That's right.
Dr. TATYeah.
Stat BoyWell, dang.
Dr. TATA little memory lane now. How do you feel about that? Do you like do you like a Dallas Eagles Thanksgiving day? Yes. Yeah, you gotta have it. Yeah. Come on. It's just we've always had tough games in Dallas, you know, like even this past year. That was uh one. Yeah. It'll be fun. I mean, I remember we played in Dallas a few years ago for Christmas Day. That was a Gardner Minshew started game. Uh in hell. Yeah. Although we won the Super Bowl after, so that was good. Oh, yeah? No, we went to the Super Bowl. Yeah, okay. Uh we did not win it. Thank you to our defensive coordinator. James Bradbury. But no, Brad Bradbury wasn't a Bradbury was a no, it was what's his face? Uh JG. Yeah. Jonathan Gannon. Yeah, right. He sucks. Yeah, he does. Who's he with now on Jonathan Gannon?
Stat BoyHe got fired. He's a D-coordinator. You fired. And then he got picked up. I think he has a D-coordinator.
Dr. TATI get fired. Fired. Then I get hired again. You're never going to kick me out. Petulla was just on the news too. He was like saying how he like helped build the culture in Philadelphia. He's a coordinator for the Packers. Petulo is oh Gannon's Packers. And then Petula's Miami. What a bunch of found. And then the second game that got leaked for the Eagles is in London, week five, against the Jaguars at the Tottenham Stadium. That's nice. That'll be fun. Wow. Yeah. Huh. How about I don't like that? How are we going to do the two leaked games? I mean, the Jaguars play in Europe like every year. So what's our record going to be in the leaked games or our leaked season? Are we I think we're going to be one and one there, right? Weeks are those. Oh no, it's week five. Five and what, eight, ten? Probably ten, maybe, for Thanksgiving? Probably. The most important thing, in my opinion, as much of it certainly when you play when you play certain teams is important. Your bye week is the key. Like you want to have a good bye week. Yeah.
Stat BoyI also think it matters like when we play Dallas. Are we playing Dallas first for the first time in Dallas on Thanksgiving and then we have a home game later in the season, or do we get a shot at him earlier and then compete against him? So I think that matters too. If we get a shot at him at home first, I think it's a better likelihood we win then. But if we see him for the first time in Dallas on Thanksgiving, it might be uh a tougher game for sure.
Dr. TATAnd this might be a part of my Northeast bias, but you know, Dallas doesn't seem like a town that you would think about Thanksgiving for, right? Like the first Thanksgiving, what was happening in Dallas then? Like just tumbleweeds going around and just like a cowboy hat flying through a just just random. Right. There's nothing's no one's thankful to be in Dallas. You know, it's just a I mean it's not Baltimore, but it's not much better. It's way worse than that. It's not much hotter. Not much better. Way worse. Now I haven't been to the Dallas Stadium. Have you guys in your adventures?
Stat BoyNo, actually, if you recall, one of the podcasts said I wanted to go there for my you know next year if I went to a game. So I haven't been there. So no.
Dr. TATYeah, Thanksgiving will be the perfect time to abandon our families. Yeah. There's also an NFL game on Thanksgiving Eve this year. I for I think it's the right one. Interesting. But that's Thanksgiving Eve?
Stat BoyYeah, that was a good thing. So they do Black Friday, now they do Thanksgiving Eve. Holy shit.
Dr. TATYeah. This could be a game every day of the week the entire year. The NFL is really starting to play with fire here, in my opinion. The fact that they're like flirting Tuesday games and Wednesday games, like, come on, man. Like you got to give us a couple days. Part of what makes the NFL so great is that like when you wake up on a Sunday morning and you've got your half butter, half cream cheese bagel, and you're just holding on to it with a slice of tomato on the side, and you're just looking at the schedule, you're like, this is the day that football is played. And I I just actually sometimes I just got like a French beret on your eating sponge. Yeah. And and sometimes I just walk around my house and say, This is the day that football is played. And I just repeat that over and over again and see if one of my children will do it with me. And then you know, we just walk around for about two hours. Yeah, that sounds fun. Very healthy. Uh and that, yeah, like so that game will be at 9 30 in the morning, the London game, week five. So I don't I actually hate the early morning games, especially when you know I'm up at 5 30 anyway.
Stat BoyIt's okay. It's hard. Like I usually like to wake up and build some anticipation for the game, right? Yeah. And I'm gonna be like literally waking up maybe two hours prior, and that's not enough for me to like get pumped for the game. Yeah. Yeah. I feel like I need a couple hours.
Dr. TATYeah. Yeah.
Stat BoyPlus, it's gonna hurt set fantasy-wise. You got to be up a little earlier to get your lineup set.
Dr. TATI'm so very much looking forward to your fantasy because Stat Boy's gonna have a fantasy preview. We'll we'll do it in sometime in the August time frame. I'm very excited for that. I thought we don't talk about it. Yeah, yeah. And the other one last thing with the Eagles is like the London games and away game, so they'll still have their I guess it's nine home games or eight home games. I forget. I think it's I know it doesn't count as a home game. Yeah, yeah. 17 games, right? Do you guys think the Jags will eventually fully relocate in London, or will they just make a London team?
Stat BoyI think they're trying to figure out if a team would work there independently. I don't think they're gonna have the Jacksonville move there.
Dr. TATThe problem with the London team is it like if you have any of the West Coast teams have to go to London or vice versa. Yeah, the London team would have to like probably stay in the States for like four or four away games in a row or something.
Stat BoyYeah, that's why I think they're they're trying to test out multiple markets over in Europe. Not only they're trying to figure out Germany, so it's Spain. So they're I think they're trying to figure out if they could put multiple teams out there when they do do a team. It'd be crazy, a world expansion.
Dr. TATI think I think they're I think they're taking on, they're biting off a little more than they can choose, Tatboy. I'm a little nervous about this.
Stat BoyI think we're you know what yeah, before they go under as a league with all this concussion stuff, they might as well try to get world dominant.
Dr. TATWell, I think it's gonna rebirth the flag football league, and that's gonna be a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to that. Flag's fun. I like flags. Flag football's fun. Yeah, yeah, we talked about that last week. Yeah. You have something else there. Yeah, I was just gonna mention so they yeah, they they're in Australia in week one, they're in Brazil, week three, England weeks four through six. Four through six, okay. Shoys point, France in week seven, Spain in week nine, Germany in week ten, Gutentag. And lastly, but certainly not leastly, uh Mexico City in week eleven. Ola. Ola? Ola. Ola. Hola. I think it is Ola, yeah. Hola. Hola.
Panda DanYeah. Yeah.
Dr. TATHello. Hola. Bienvenidos. Stat Boy, do we have anything? I I feel like I I will say, and I I'm not the I'm not that guy, but I'm gonna be that guy. She's gonna be the guy. We haven't I feel like the mailbox has been a little it's been a little light. A little light, a little light. But there's always last week we did that from just Matt and Slayer. We had a couple. Do we have a Slayer sound off? I feel like that's our that's our evergreen option. She she posted something on X a little bit ago. I don't know if that was something you guys did last week. Did she sound off at all? No, I didn't see any sound off from her this week. Okay, okay. I think yeah.
Stat BoyYeah. Yeah. Well, I don't got nothing in the box right now. I'm not looking at anything in the box. Nothing in the box.
Dr. TATNothing in the box. Well, it sounds to me then we should just make a random phone call and let's let's just see here. Since we don't have anyone in there, let's see. Let's see if I can get one of our friends here. See if she's uh available. Ooh, little free. Your call has been forwarded to us all right as a voicemail as an immediate uh reject call. All right. Well, you know what? I I will say we already had our good interview for this podcast, but fantastic interview. Please, you know, feel free to email us. Give us give us any kind of We're not begging here. Any any jerky to chew on, you know what I mean? We're we're looking for, you know, I I think in light of the lack of this, we should at least update Stat Boy on what we talked about last week.
Stat BoyWell, hold on, hold on. Before you do that, yeah, let's say I didn't listen to it. Okay. I would probably make these corrections to that episode that I did.
Dr. TATIt's nice for you to correct things you have no idea of.
Stat BoyYeah, so I'm just gonna I'm just gonna take a shot of the dark here. So if I'm just gonna take a shot of the dark, uh I guess I have a feeling that you guys maybe ran into some kind of discussion about ugly actors in some way. Yeah, that's a great assumption. Yeah, I I it just was coming on. I felt like that was coming on. We were doing the ugly side of the way. Yeah, we were doing for that. Yeah. So for me, I I think you missed quite an obvious one uh by the the gentleman named by John Matusack. Uh does anybody know who John Matusak is? Uh not at all, no. Oh my god, I can't believe he's so ugly John Matusak. John Matusak, yeah. John. John Matusak. He played Sloth in the 85 movie Goonies. Do you know what sloth looks like? There you go. I don't know what I got. Look at him. That's crazy. Yeah, but it's like mostly makeup. He actually was a fan of the No, no, no, no. That's this is an actual appearance. All right, so the next piece, I feel like you guys were moving into we talked a little, you guys, I think, talked a little bit about Surfside, right? And some stateside vodka. Stateside live. I mean, I don't know. I'm getting this vibe that you immediately went after the seltzer piece to Stateside. Stateside originated as a distillery. They came with their their pure vodka first, and then everything else, the seltzer, was a spin-off due to the pandemic. And in the 2020 year, they decided to find other ways to repurpose the vodka. They decided to put it into these seltzers, and that became but their real big claim to fame was in 22 when they developed the uh delicious tasting iced tea non-carbonated version of their drinks called the Surfsides. And those are vodka-based, and they became the fastest growing uh alcohol brand, and they've often been known to outsell like beer at current sporting events. Wow. You might see a couple banners hanging out on the Phillies outfield there that says surfside. So they're delicious. So surfside's owned by Stateside, is that accurate? Correct. Yes. Stateside is the vodka, and then they developed those other spin-offs to sell to other markets. Cool. Yeah. Man, we really could have used that last week. How very inconsequential. And then I think another thing, I just get this vibe. There was some discussion about like maybe the Broad Street run, because we did kind of talk about it previously to that. Good logic. Good logic there. I know we don't want to dox anybody around here, but if you were you know looking for a Dr. Tat as an individual who raced in it, if you're looking at anywhere from the 120 to the 123 mark in speed, so just go ahead and Google the folks that ran into that area. You'll find him. He's somewhere in the house.
Dr. TATHow about Panda Dan? What was his best time?
Stat BoyOh man. Yeah, maybe he can divulge.
Dr. TATYeah, what was your best time? That's how bad a time. Yeah. It wasn't a good time. My best time is one sub-113. The 112. Okay. Oh, okay. Yeah. So I was in striking distance.
Stat BoyMuch, much different, you know, configuration. I was like a furlong or two behind you for the most part. Yeah. Another one. Let's get into hockey, right? We were a little get excited about the flyers a little bit. Get excited about the Sixers, you know, because it was a really, you know, the start of a great week. Yeah. Oh yeah. There was a comment made about like hockey and how great of a sport it was. And the comment must have been about like it's a game of inches, I believe was said. It is, yeah. Um no, it's not. It's a Canadian sport, and they they use the SI unit. So it's a game of centimeters. Thank you. And that's correct. And about 2.4, 2.54 centimeters is equivalent to an inch. So if you're gonna say it's a game of inches, you're gonna you should say it's a game of 2.4 or 54 centimeters. That it just rolls off the tongue so much. It's great. Yep. Yeah. The name of the 76ers, they're not just some random like warrior, you know, guy in a war that's fighting. It's the it's the honoring, the signing of the Declaration of Independence. It's the individuals that were in there, the politicians that scattered around to decide on how they were gonna shape this great country in our current year. So it's not gonna be some dude running around with a rifle. It's gonna be some dude running around with a nice pen like Benjamin Franklin. I think that actually was once a logo they were gonna try to change the situation.
Dr. TATI'd still get I would still take Franklin over Diedrich Knickerbacher, right? 100%. Yeah, I mean Knickerbacher was just an ugly man. I feel like I feel like Franklin had some girth to him, you know. Like, I don't think you would want to F with Franklin unless you're a French woman. He loved Golf. Talk about Chrisson's thing. A dude, dude, went over to France and went to and back then it, you know, it was like what a month to get there, you know? Like you had to really think about it the whole time. Oh, yeah. But you're partying the whole time when you're all going there. Yeah, you probably went to Versailles and he's like, let's go.
Stat BoyYeah, in the house. Just Rocky Mountain Oysters. That was a question about bull balls, by the way, folks. They're bull balls. Well, excuse me. Bull balls. Bull bull balls? Bubbles? Bull balls. Bullballs.
Dr. TATTesticles of a bullball. Yeah, if you want to say that word. Yep, that's scientific. Now, what what does one and and please, I I would love for you to look this up and hopefully on a work account. Total. But what does one eat? Well, what's the accoutrement for a to use a French term? It's straight. What do you mean straight? You just eat fried. You think they're fried? They're fried.
Stat BoyI thought they were raw. Oh, okay.
Dr. TATRaw. Yeah.
Stat BoyNo, I don't know.
Dr. TATOh, you gotta cook them? They're fried though. Oh, fried steel balls. They just fry the hell out of them until you don't know what you're eating. Oh, okay. So you just fry it and then what do you put on it? Cream cheese or Andrew would know, or listener Andrew and write in. Cream cheese, or what do you put on it? Or do you just so you just fry it and eat it? So we're gonna need help. So you bread the testicle, fry it, and then there is a sauce, I think. I just forget what kind.
Stat BoyYeah. I'm not touching that subject anymore. I think there was a lot of prediction being made, possibly. I think you guys probably made some predictions. I'm gonna take the Nixon 4. I don't know. Is that still on the TV? You certainly can't. Can I take the Nixon 4? And you would be right. Wow. Fantastic.
Dr. TATAnd we did we did buy Turtle a new garment at clothing, right? I actually did, yes. For Turtle who I'm sure is listening to this right now, the garment is on the way. I got it at this little shop called Amazon. I got the mom and pop. I got him an extra medium, and I hopefully he'll really like it, and it's a nice brown color. Nice. Yeah, he said he's gonna wear it next time he comes on the set of side. You know, it's it's funny. I I think he'll look good in it. It's just you now the question is he I feel like he has to go ruffled shirt, right? Like absolutely you gotta go ruffled shirt with the Knickerbocker. Yeah. I mean that's yeah, that's how you rock it. And you need high socks, high socks, actually, yeah. And then probably what kind of shoes? Loafers, right? Yeah, a nice sharp loafer? Yeah, possibly maybe a top hat. You know, top hat? Just have a just a man about ten. Why not, right? Yeah. I actually think the Knickerbockers are gonna win it all if we're gonna do a prediction. The Thunder's really good. We'll see. I'm taking I'm actually taking the Knickerbockers. That'd be a good bet. Yeah, we'll see. I mean, they gotta get through either Detroit. So if they play the Pistons, they won't have home court. If they play the Cavs, they will have home court. I don't I don't think it matters either way. I mean, they are the betting favorite to win the East, but to win the East, but not the finals. The betting favorite to win the finals is either the Thunder or the Spurs. Yeah, yeah. The Spurs gotta get by the Wolves first. So tune in Friday night. I mean, a wolf against Spurs. Oh, well, you have to wait for the episode. Yeah. Should be a good one. Wenby's a good player to watch. If you if you haven't watched the NBA playoffs, where'd he go to? He's from France. Oh and he's going against Rudy Gobert, who's also from France. All the same team, yeah. We played together. We don't we don't like talking about Rudy Gobert. He coughed on a microphone once. That was gave everyone COVID.
Stat BoyPoor taste. That was interesting. All right, we're round in the corner of the last two here. Here we go. Again, I did not listen to this episode. I just want to make sure everyone understands that I have no idea what was discussed, but I'm guessing you should have been made. Yes, thank you. This is everybody. Yeah, that was a question from Justin. Yeah. We're looking at maybe like how you know how the new the new batting strike zone thing works. Well, by definition, it's it's the strike zone is for the player's natural stance. So if a player goes into the box and decides to, hey, I'm gonna get down real low, I'm gonna see if I can make this hard for the pitcher. No. It's when he originates his stance in the box, it gets set up, that he's naturally standing as if he's taking a bat. There's your strike zone established. If you change that during your like if you try to overcorrect or anything like that, it won't help. You your strike zone will still exist from nipple to knees. Okay. Nipple to knees. Which I think I don't know if that was discussed in the last time.
Dr. TATIt was, it was, but I I actually was so if I if Embiid goes on his knees, his strike zone takes. Which is like uh uh about two probably five feet. About two Danny DeVitos, I think, on top of each other. Yeah, one Danny Tanner, two Danny DeVitos.
Stat BoyYeah, something like that. And then then I just you know I heard there might have been a flag raised last week for the Flyers at this this you know, RP the Flyers, that didn't work out. I heard there was a Sixers flag risen, uh that didn't work out. I I I'm really hoping this isn't true, but I I did walk into this household and I saw an American flag set up. So I don't hope I hope we don't lose the next war here, folks, because of the flag duration.
Dr. TATYeah, what's your record with flag bearing and team success? I don't need a jinx. We also have this beautiful set. I guess technically, but the United States may fall in short order.
Stat BoyBut I think I think our banner will become one of our potential merch items that we'll be giving away here to uh some some of our potential you know call-ins or listeners. So if you guys send in a send if you send in some really good stuff, we'll get it at cost and we'll charge it for an upsell and it's a profit up there.
Dr. TATYou will you will win the right to purchase it. Actually, what we're gonna offer. You don't know how we buy these, so yeah, we'll buy it and then we'll charge you for it. Yeah, but yeah, yeah, we do have a nice banner here. So if I if you ever do want to, if you if you're free on a weekday night, you want to come on the show here at Sed Ike Podcast, yeah, hang out with Statboy, hang out with Dr. Tad, hang out with Panda Dam, you'll you'll be able to come to the studio, see a nice banner, yeah, talk to us. I've you know who I've been missing for a while is you know, I yeah, I was just about to say I think he's just about done his male exotic dancing competition, Rio. And so I think he's gonna be available pretty soon. But just want to say miss you, buddy. And another nice point, and hopefully he's listening, you're probably not listening this late into the podcast, but no one's listening right now. I think you're right. Dr. Green's coming back into the area in the near future, so I I'd look forward to getting him here. Yeah, he's moving from New England back to here. Nothing screams Bert and Ernie more than Dr. Green and McGurk. I mean, it just really gives off that same like we're roommates, but are we roommates vibe? You know what I mean? Yeah, yeah. Kind of like the wet bandits or something. Oh boy, yeah, you know, you just got the E-rating on the podcast for the night. Let me say. Uh oh, you know what? How about you correct the actual podcast we we've done tonight? Did you have anything to correct? I feel like you you set everyone straight during the interview.
Stat BoyYeah, I think we're good. Yeah. We he's good once. He's good but again, that was just my guesses of what we need to be fixed from last week.
Dr. TATWell, you were like 98% correct, so that's quite good. Yeah. Yeah. I I just want to say thank you again to Joe and Anthony at Golf215. That that went really well. Great guys. Look forward to talking to him again in the future. Yeah. I mean, we have more majors coming up. They uh it was great. If you if you want to get in touch with them to just golf, you know, they are a social work as well, which is very cool, and we can all use socializing and connection these days. So thank you again. And that was awesome.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
Dr. TATWe do have another guest scheduled in June, which I we're super thrilled about. Oh, exciting. And I think uh our listeners of all ages will be thrilled to for that too. Yeah, yeah. Shout out. So we're looking forward to that. And yeah, a lot of exciting stuff going on here at Set Ike. And and like I said, we're we're excited for the Eagles schedule release coming up this week, too. We're looking forward to that, and then and we're gonna break it down for you. We'll have to pick a game. One thing about that with the Eagles schedule release, like we we had so much fun at the playoff game, even though it was like in a hell off. Shout out, Joey. But one uh one exciting thing to see about that is Travis Fogan. Maybe we could maybe we could pick at least a game to all go to. I I couldn't agree more. Plus a fan. Plus a fan. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And let me say what a privilege it is to spend time with Statboy once again. I thought we lost him, but he's back. And just to be able to talk golf and croissants and just really break down what it means to be a losing Philadelphia double sweep weekend and still come out of it smiling. That's what it's all about, right? We're going to horse jail. We will break the chains that is the horse racing epidemic that has really ruined the lives of so many horses. And you know, I'm fighting day in and day out for the rights of those horses. And hang in there, Julia. I know you're with me, and we're gonna keep fighting the good fight. Golden tempo, wherever you are, hang in there. Those riding crops are never gonna keep you down, brother. Panda Dan has no comment. He's he's complicit. Commend your courage. Yeah, what a time to be alive. For the Seth Hike podcast, I'm your host, Dr. Tet. And I'm Panda Dan. Step Boy. Everyone, have a lovely weekend. Go out, hug your closest mother holding a club, and tell them happy PGA championship. Hug your neighbors on your street. Yes, you know. Find time to connect. Let's be social. Let's enjoy the time. When you're when you walk into an elevator, hug that person. Even if they're crisscross applesauce on the floor, just pick them up, give them a hug, and then set them right back down. Don't forget to put a dollar on shit tuck. Dude, a dollar on tchuk. Is what I'm hearing. All right, boys. Justin Rose. Have a great weekend. Go, birds. Go, Justin Rose. Go John Matisack. Shout out. All right, boys.
