The 25th inaugural episode of Set Hike celebrates a quarter-century of podcasting the only way this show knows how: by starting with dead goldfish, betta-fish gang warfare, and a heated debate over what a group of Krimpets should be called. The crew then spirals through Memorial Day guilt, PGA Championship chaos, Rory McIlroy's apparent war on patriotic hecklers, robot referees with legal rights, and an Eagles schedule breakdown that somehow includes Andy Reid walrus metaphors and AJ Brown trade anxiety. Stat Boy returns from whatever underground statistics bunker he inhabits, armed with enough random facts to power a small municipality. By the end, the boys have predicted the Eagles season, declared Cooper DeJean the key to the greatest defensive backfield in NFL history (per Dr. TAT's "May Take '26"), and discover that female betta fish apparently belong to a sorority.

Welcome everyone to the twenty-fifth, twenty-fifth, twenty-five, the twenty-fifth inaugural episode of the Set Hike podcast. I'm your host, Dr. Tatten, with me as always. Panda Dam. Stat Boy. Stat Boy's back. That's the crew. That's what we got for you. Yeah, we made it to a quarter century here. This is an exciting night. Quarter century. Or morning or afternoon or middle of the night, whenever folks are listening. Could be it's exciting. Yeah. Could be any of those times. Yeah. But time is relative, right, Dan? Yeah, time is relative. It's been two weeks since we last published. Yeah. So we we could talk about that. Many animals don't live that long, so we could have missed the lifetime of, I don't know, a moth.
Stat BoyYeah, I had a goldfish, now I don't have a goldfish.
Dr. TATReally? Yeah. Wow, what a tough run. Yeah. Two weeks. Well, you know what? You have to have the memory of a goldfish, right? And so it has to be in one fish ear and out the other. Yeah. One time I got a poly, like I remember we did a Christmas swap. Our listener slomo gave me a fish as a as a gift in the Christmas swap. What kind of fish? Beta fish. Yeah. A blue, beautiful blue beta fish. Yep. How'd it go? What was his name? Do you remember? Do you remember Steven, I think. Steven? Or Stevie? Stevie? Yeah, yeah. How long did he live? Stevia. Did he live a set hike podcast? Yeah, they're he had a good run. Longer than Statboy's goldfish. Yeah, he was a great fish. Resilient, tough, you know. Great. And you really apparently those those fish, from what I know, which is very little on beta fish, you can't have one uh or you can't have more than one beta fish in in a yeah. Yeah, they're just gonna buy just bleed each other. Yeah, they they kill each other. They kill each other. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, so they're very territorial. He might still have a fish called named Phil. His name is Phil. Phil beta fish. Yeah, Phil. And then yeah. You can buy like other little fish, like they have to be fish without fins. Like I forget the terminology for it. Fish without fins. Maybe not fins. Fins that don't like You have to use these people without legs. Like you need to, yeah, they need to be like very quiet fish, like with the beta fish. Oh, if they come in hot, like being like real show offs, like the beta just kills. So if the fish is severely disabled, the beta fish is like, all right, well it's more boring, like just immobile to fish. Like the beta's like, all right, he's cool. He's fine. He's easy, he can't move, but he's my buddy. Yeah. Now Mrs. Tat had a series of beta fish fishes. I w I you'll have to look up for a stat boy what a group of beta fish are called, but probably doesn't have a name.
SPEAKER_05School of fish? Isn't it a school of fish?
Dr. TATThere's often a school fish, but I'm already you know, in theory, if the beta fish are these lone wolves, you know, for lack of a better metaphor, they probably don't go in packs because they would just kill each other. You know, yeah. Of course, I am very passionate about the group names of animals. In fact, there we used to participate in trivia. It was bar-based trivia, right? Trivia at a local watering hole in the city of Philadelphia. And I don't know if you recall, I think you tangentially were part of it, Panda Dan. I I believe you participated. I feel like you were part of the tribute. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. And do you remember the name of that that group? That ragtag. Oh, I do. Was it like Camel or something? It was it was my incorrect answer for what a group of camels is called, which I said I said was a festival of camels. I still use that as the Where did we do that? I still believe it's the truth. Was that like Maggie O'Neill's? Fideau. Yeah. Well, it started at Fido, and we we competed there like weekly. We were regulars as the festival of camels, and we've shortened it to the camels. And in fact, some of my dear friends that are diehard camels, we have like a text thread of the camels that you're not on. But but anyway, I love group names of animals. One of them I spent the better part, I think it might have been up to 18 months if we're talking about time, where I used to send a message to Statboy every day that a group of ferrets is called a business. Yeah. And so so legit. It's a group of ferrets is a business. A business of ferrets. And so the panda Roman's Gino and Respect and Anthony, Stat Stathony boy, used to be a business owner because he owned a group of ferrets. Wow. Yeah.
Stat BoyI was one of the first and last business owner. And then let me do a quick fire for you.
Dr. TATThe panda, real quick, is like embarrassment, right? I think it's an embellishment or an embarrassment. Let's guess. Embarrassment. An embarrassment. I mean, it fits so perfect with your nickname. You know what I mean? Yeah. And then how about how about a group of whales? You know that one? That one's that one's interesting. I don't know. It's a pod. All right. Yeah. So they just all talk on their headphones. Yeah. They just they just hang out. Who's coming up with these names? Like who's the decision making? That's a great question. Because whoever that person is or personal.
Stat BoyWe're gonna need an expert to help solve this.
Dr. TATWe'll have to figure that out in the future, but I dig I digress. And then one thing, I think we're a podcast of integrity, right? Panda D. Oh yeah, for sure. I think we should at least understand that we forgot Memorial Day. We forgot about it. Did we forget about it? Did I or was Well we were Yeah. Well what let's see. We were so two weeks ago. It was before the NFL Let me get my abacus here. We were gonna speak the NFL schedule release. Because that happened after our last episode. Yeah, Memorial Day fell right in the middle. So we we were we were planning to have a Memorial Day celebration, I think, during last week. But when something came up, we did not celebrate, but we remember Memorial Day and and we're not gonna forget it next year. Yeah. Let's set a can we set a scheduled time for the Memorial Day? Do you know when it's gonna be next year?
Stat BoyUh yeah.
Dr. TATOkay. You think you'll be able to find it?
Stat BoyYeah, I think so.
Dr. TATOkay, very good. Excellent. So how you feeling, Panda? How you doing? Uh good, good. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. We got lots to talk about, right? So the yeah, ego schedule release, that's uh that's a that's a thing we got. I mean, should we explain what happened last week? Do we want to get into that or not? Like as far as why we happened or yeah. Oh, well, I think you're I mean more or less we can I I I we're a hero and without violating fake HIPAA, you know. I would say that we had we had some duties that called for my fake job, you know, my my my hobby, if you will, yeah, for which I peruse. So you know, sometimes your job, yeah. Yeah, sometimes things get picked up a little bit, and it it's it's one of those deals. But I also I I don't want to be that podcast guy, but I would want to say that we are a podcast that really feeds off of our fans, right? It's uh there's the symbiosis to use another animal term, right? And so I I felt like the the mailbag was a little barren for a bit. And so, you know, m perhaps we needed to give some time to get the mail juices flowing, right? You know, pick up the you know, get the letter flow going, get the you know, the podcast postal service up and running, if you know what I mean. Yeah, yeah. Well, we we asked our listeners to help out with that, and they sure did. You know, we got a lot. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We got a lot. We got like a packed mail bag, which is you know, stat boy loves a big sack of the biggest. Oh, yeah, we got plenty here to do that. His sack is full of mail. So we got yeah, like just a recap too, like, and we'll we'll you know, that's an important part. We did we had the Eagles schedule release, we we had the PGA championship after our last podcast, so we could talk a little bit about that. Yeah. We yeah, just a lockdown. Who won the PGA championship? It was Aaron Ray, right, from England. Rye, I believe. Rye. Rye was it Rye, like the bread?
Stat BoyYeah.
Dr. TATRye. I think it's pronounced Rye. Rye R A I? R Rye. It was Rye, not Ryman or anything, right? R-A-I.
SPEAKER_01And he was he's a British dude.
Dr. TATYeah, yeah. From Br Britain. Yeah, yeah. So he he has two gloves. That was a big thing. What did you think about that? Yeah, I mean, I don't see why. Have you ever golfed with two gloves, Panda? No. I kind of always wondered why you only because like yeah, baseball, you wear two batting gloves. Like, why not just wear two gloves? Unless you're what's his name? Who was the who's the guy we picked up? He ended up going to the Giants afterwards, the Phillies guy. Uh Hunter Pence. Oh, yeah, yeah. Hunter Pence was a no gloves guy, right? Yeah, no baseball.
Stat BoyAnd high socks. He would wear high schools.
Dr. TATHigh socks and no gloves. Yeah. I mean, that's impressive. So he did that. And I also just want to shout out, I know we did it like on Instagram and stuff, like Goth215. We got great feedback from that episode. Oh, yeah, shout out. I thought they were great. That was great. Yeah, good guys. Fantastic. That was yeah, we're still exploring just like the whole this whole having guests on, and that went really well. And great guys, great.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
Dr. TATAnd it and it was just a great preview for the PGA championship weekend, which it was really cool just that whole weekend, you know, having Newtown Square, PA, Delco, like just at the center of really the golf universe. You know, how did you think the greater Philadelphia fans, golf or otherwise, how did they represent the region with the, you know, the telecast, you you do get some flavor. I found it, you know what? I'll ask you I asked you first. So let me get your opinion on it. Yeah, I mean, it seemed like a great crowd. I I didn't make it down there, but I was watching it a lot on TV. I did watch a lot of like the golfer interviews, like the press conferences, which I didn't even really know they do to golf press conferences. I can't say I watched a whole lot of those in my time, but but yeah, like Justin Thomas and Scheffler, they were all Sheffler's a Cowboys fan, but that's all right. But they were all like speaking highly of the crowd, the energy of the crowd. A lot of Eagles chance. Yeah, a lot of Eagles chance. Like probably too many to be honest. Like we love, you know, I love it. Well, that's that's you know what? It there's a reason we do a podcast together because you just it's the yin to the yang. Because I was thinking to myself, when I I was watching, I was wondering how people thought about it. I thought the intent of the Eagles cheers while Cowboys fan Scotty Scheffler was kind of stumbling his way through the third round was a delight. I loved it. But is it too much? Because you'll find that even especially after losing uh you know, losing ventures with the Philz, with the Sixers, with the Flyers, there's always a subset of like Eagles fans or Eagles cheers going on.
SPEAKER_01And it's, you know, is that juxtaposition okay?
Dr. TATDo we like that? Do we not? Yeah, I mean, yeah, even like I I studied at the great Penn State University, and like you would you would hear the Eagles chants like all hours of the day, like you know, a lot of drunk students on the weekends, like saying the Eagles chant. And yeah, like I mean, I I love the Eagles chant, but like sometimes it does just you know, people overdo it a little bit. Okay, so you you think there should be a tasteful, like a little seasoning of eagles, but you can overdo it. It's like salt on a you know, on a nice piece of salmon, right? There's a s there's a right amount and then there's too much. Yeah, I mean we talked about cream cheese on bagels, you know, it goes along with that. Like what how much is too much? So it's really it's a volume. So the intent is okay, especially when you have a number one ranked golfer in the world who's a Cowboys fan who's coming down the stretch. Like, I I thought that was well done. Now there was Mr. McElroy got a guy kicked out, which is like his MO. And I don't I don't know what that golfer said. We'll have to or what the fan said to Rory rather. Are you familiar with this? Yeah, did you see that? I forget. He kind of like pointed, he's like, he's gotta go. Yeah, it's like shut up, it was like I think kind of deserved. Like I'm deserved? I I I I forget what he said to me honestly. Statboy can look it up, but don't you think the golfers need to be? I just remember being like Rory has a point for like like I didn't I wasn't like or Rory's ever again. Rory's notorious, he's notorious of this, you know, he does this all the time. So I bet, and Statboy can help us see this. I bet there's a half a dozen situations where Mr. McElroy has encouraged or even forced the local jurisdiction of the golf, you know, whoever's hosting to kick fans out. Like he he tells them, like, get that fan out. And it's like, I don't know, you know, you paid your ticket. I think you're allowed to heckle the golfers. Uh obviously you don't want to do it mid-swing or uh impact the actual thing, but afterwards, I think you should be able to say whatever the hell you want.
SPEAKER_01It's America, right? Last time I checked, this was America.
Stat BoyWell, yeah, actually, that's a great segue here. So the answer to that question we had earlier was what was why why did that happen? Well, apparently, after Rory hit a, you know, uh not a great shot, kind of fell short into a bunker, he heard a fan shout out, USA. Really? USA. That was it? Yeah. And then after that, Rory responded, shut the beep up. So I guess, yeah. So really, Rory should have been kicked out, right? You know disrespecting America.
Dr. TATYeah. This is it was right after Rory had like a bad shot, too, right? I think something like that's right. And so all that fan was doing was letting Rory know where that shot landed. And it was it landed in USA. They pointed to the bunker. They're like, there's USA. Go get your ball. And do we the guy did get kicked out? He got kicked out. Yeah, I don't think he should have got kicked out, but I think Rory is allowed to yell back at I I think about 183 seconds ago, you just told me it was warranted. Yeah, to yell back at the guy. Yeah, I see. Okay, so you can church. I don't think he should have got kicked out. I agree, right? I mean, I'm pretty sure Mr. McElroy lives in USA, and if he lives here, people are gonna shout USA at you. I mean, happy Memorial Day, guys. You know, I mean when I walk down the street, every once in a while a guy comes up to me and says, Hey, USA, and I say, damn right, brother. You know? Put on your American flag bandana and move on. That's what I think, man. Well, you always had a great USA like swim, what are they called? Swimming trunks. Trunks, yeah, bathing suit, one would call it. Yeah, absolutely. I know what it is. Yeah, yeah. You would always wear them. The one, yeah, you that was Seattle City. That was your attire like every day. Yeah, I mean, much to Mr. Tatum. Guinness tank top. That's right. That that was kind of the vibe. One would call it vacation Dr. Tat. Yeah, yeah. 100%. But I I did know uh quite a few people that went to the PGA championship. And did any of them get kicked out from McElroy? No, no, but I asked, yeah, I had some co-workers that went and I was like, did it, you know, I'm sure you saw a lot of famous people there. Like it was probably cool. It sounded awesome, you know. A lot of like eagles, but like I saw my lot I was there, but two interesting observations were and then I I'm not sure if this person's listening, but I it was great intel that he gave me. It was the first the first one was this one's not as exciting, but Kyle Lowry was just like walking around the sixties playing. You know, it's like nice, nice. Yeah, but the second one was uh Vic Fangio was just walking around. Was he? Yeah, like right in the middle of the crown. And I mean, maybe he was carrying a bag of meatballs. I'm not sure. You would love to hope that that was the case. You know, we'll get into a little bit more Eagles talk, you know, if if that's okay with you. I don't want to get kicked out. Yeah, no, I definitely do that. All right, phot. Yeah, so ultimately this guy Rye wins, he he really came out of nowhere. Yeah, the iron covers, that's another thing that only he does. So he has like two, like the the iron covers and the two gloves. It's like and I think he was a media darling for it because essentially there was a group of reporters who, you know, obviously when it's a no uh all due respect to Rye and and his career and a relative no name, right? Like somebody who you did not expect uh Jim Nance to be talking about in the last, you know, six holes of the tournament. These reporters, they gotta get their story, right? And you gotta get your spin. And I think it was this rag to riches, rags to riches type of thing, right? He his his father bought him a pair, a what's a group of clubs called? Clubs?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, a group of clubs, like golf clubs. What would you call that? A bag of clubs? A business of clubs? No, no. Set of clubs? A set of clubs? Is that what a group of clubs would be called? I think there's an answer.
Stat BoyI believe uh so well, I think we need to understand the the naming convention for the animals to then understand how to name cuts.
Dr. TATDon't you think there should be a naming convention for all groups of things that are greater than ten?
Stat BoyOh yeah, I think there should be.
Dr. TATDon't you think so? I mean like a dozen eggs.
SPEAKER_01Like, yeah, so dozen eggs, but dozens. Dozens of the numbers. Dozen's essentially a number, but but like I think a group of tasty cakes should be called something. You know, like if if there are ten tasty cakes, like like crimpets, right? Like ten crimpets stacked. Yeah. Stacked or unstacked. I there'd be like a crumpet? A crumpet of a crumpet of crimpets, that'd be kind of cool.
Dr. TATThat's it's a little too close to the name, though. I would do something like a a tasting. A tasting of crimpets. You know, a tasting. Yeah, yeah. Cause then like I and when I go to a party, it'd be like, hey, I brought a tasting of and and you guys would know what I'm talking about. Yeah.
Stat BoyYeah. But I mean my brain immediately goes to like a variety of tasty cakes when I hear a tasting, like a vr like a bread. Yeah, that's right. Yeah, the same one.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I guess I would have to, yeah. Well, what's your guy's favorite cake? Charcuterie. What's your favorite tasty cake?
Dr. TATI like the chocolate cupcake with the chocolate icing. Yeah, but I but I have a great respect for the peanut butter.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I mean, and see, I'm a butterscotch crimpet guy.
Dr. TATThose are all three of us. I mean, that's the trinity, I would say, of there's no Mount Rushmore of tasty cakes. There's only three. It's a Trinity, right? There's there's the crimpet, the candy cake. What is it? Yeah, candy cake.
SPEAKER_01Candy cake. Candy, yeah, tandy candy cake.
Dr. TATCandy cake, yeah, candy cake.
SPEAKER_01And then whatever yours is, the chocolate cupcake. Cupcake. Yeah. Does that have a name? It probably does. I don't know. A crumpet of crimpits doesn't sound I think that might be a better, yeah.
Dr. TATOr like a I I think the alliteration is well received, Stat Boy. Maybe a canasta of crimpits or a choir of crimpets. Ooh, a choir. I like the choir.
SPEAKER_05Sounds good.
Dr. TATYeah. Yeah. No, you'd have to. Yeah. So anyway, I think we were talking about golf and clubs and a group of clubs. Let's call it a set of clubs. He got them, Aaron Rye, going back to the winner of the PJ Championship. He got those clubs from his father, and I believe that they had we'll call it a tight budget financially. So to keep them in great shape, he put covers on the irons, and so it became this the media's like Aaron Rye's, you know, they they had to do the pauper to prince type of uh allegory, right? Would be what we're thinking here. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, I mean it's pretty interesting because the these tournaments in Philly, it's like like I didn't see anyone say this, but I was just thinking like, so he's from England, Justin Rose won it, Marion from England. Yeah. Yeah. Are we happy that all these you know non-USA people are winning our our tournaments? I mean the last, and then there was a tournament at Ironamic in like 2019. And Rose won that at right now? No, no, no. Rose came in second. Okay, it was Keegan Bradley from Ireland.
Stat BoyOh my god. Wait, wasn't that the BMW one? Irishman.
Dr. TATYeah, I think. Yeah, that was in 18. But then there was one the truest was last year, and that was Sepp Straca, who's from your somewhere in Europe, too. That was at where was that? That was the truest. That was somewhere call-up golf 215. Well, no, just gonna it was like uh Whitemars or one of those, like Oh really? Somewhere around that White March. Oh, up in that area. Okay, so so that would be I think it was White Marsh. That's like flirting with actually where Golf 215's from. Yeah. So that was a big and I think that was Sepp Strafka. Well, he's from like I think like Denmark or one of those countries. So we've got it's basically like an American's not winning like anytime it comes to Philly. Yeah, it's probably just but like yeah, like an American's not winning. Yeah, I wish I'd I wish I had followed that trend with now.
SPEAKER_01Did you put did you place any bets? Do you make any lettuce here on the PGA?
Dr. TATYeah, I did bet on it. I think I like I like came up yeah I lost money on it, but I I did pretty good. I really yeah, yeah, yeah.
Stat BoyYou lost money but did good.
Dr. TATWell, I had like top five bets, so I think yeah, Scheffler got that and who else got it? Yeah, I had someone else in the top five, if I forget. Because I thought it was a lot of uh again, all due respect to Aaron Rye and a couple of the other folks. I guess it ultimately ended up being some bigger names for the top five because it like a lot of the there was what those there were two guys that I I wasn't familiar with that were kind of vying. Smalley, that guy, yeah. Smalley and the other. No one wanted to keep the leader Lehi or Leedy. There was someone with an L was the other one. Yeah, Aberg was Oberg. So I had Just Justin Thomas, yeah, yeah, I had him top. He finished top five. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He's a pretty good golfer. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
Dr. TATBut um Yeah, so but yeah, it's um Yeah, it was a good but it was great, great to watch. Yeah, but credit to Aaron Rye, like that guy. He pulled away. That that big one on hole 17, he had like that big Bernie. Yeah, it was like a 28-foot. Maybe longer. I mean, that was maybe it was 28 yards. I mean, it was a long putt and he nailed it. Yeah, I mean it, you know, it it's fun because there was that moment, but overall, I find personally that when the when the tournament ends this way, it's a little anticlimactic. You have like three or four groups who are still just kind of playing out and like statistically we're out of it. And then all they're doing is jockeying for like the big checks at the end, essentially. Yeah. Because Rye was done, I don't know, he was like fifth or sixth last group on Sunday, I think, right? Probably, yeah. I mean, he wasn't the leader going in, like he was a surprise. But he was Rye was the Rye man.
Stat BoyHe shot 65 on Sunday.
Dr. TATYeah, he would, but he was like probably the sixth or seventh to the last, you know, to go. Oh. So he was like, in striking distance. Yeah, he just uh Yeah, he didn't completely come out of nowhere. It was a hard course though. Like everyone was yeah, I forget what the I think the winning score was like nine under or so, but but you saw like, yeah, they were I mean par. They were any birdie was like really impressive. Yeah, the weather participated especially. I think later on Saturday, it seemed like the wind and like if you went out earlier, you actually had a better chance of doing well. Yeah, yeah, that's true. Yeah, I was thinking about that too. Like, because it was even cold in the morning, and like that is yeah, like I don't know if that happens often. Don't you think like after you lead the tournament, you should get to pick when you want to go? Like, I would I would maybe want to go earlier in the day. Yeah, yeah. I guess the idea is Sunday, you want the last people because you get the advantage of seeing how everybody else did. Yeah, yeah. I guess that's hard and there's some strategies there in the little bit of pressure there. Yeah, you feeling the pressure? Yeah, yeah, yeah. But even physical, like yeah, like the you know, that would be like mental challenge, right? But like a physical challenge, like in the morning, yeah. It was much colder in the morning. So like uh yeah, that I like I it's hard, it's easier for the you know, the afternoon guys when it's warmer.
Stat BoyDid we really just say golf was a physical challenge or something physically challenging in game?
Dr. TATIt's so funny that we're breaking down all this golf, and stat boy, I mean, he just he just stares off into the distance and he's he's like plodding around with his stat GPT cronies, and you know, he has almost no interest in what we're talking about. Yeah. It's it you can see it. You can watch the golf again.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
Dr. TATWell we got yeah, we got a lot of we got NBA playoffs too, so credit to the New York Knicks for making the NBA finals. They swept the Cleveland Cavaliers and they swept the Sixers, so they're coming a hot to the finals. Couldn't care west, hate the Knicks. And then we got Thunder and Spurs battling out in the West. A little more interested in that, but only nominally. But they flop. I mean, this flopping thing's got to go. Massive flopping. Yeah. What do you think about the flopping? Yeah, it's tough to watch. I've even heard there's been like random NFL players just commenting on it too, and they're just like, this is hard really hard to watch. Like, you know, a lot of flopping. It's becoming soccer. Wemby SGA. It's becoming soccer. Did you just hear what Stap Boy said? Yeah. I don't disagree. Yeah. I don't disagree. I mean, I I I think the yeah, it's a it's fun to watch the NBA playoffs. Like it's just great product, but yeah, the flopping's eternal. I I'll tell you, I think the product is is getting weakened by this. I mean, it and is it an NBA ref problem? Is it a superstar problem? Is it both? Like, are the are the players more floppy?
Stat BoyI think they're embellishing it and they're able to trick the refs into calling it more often. So I mean we need robot refs in the NBA, right? We need something that could be. You think robot refs would fix it? I mean it's fixing the MLB. Well, they're still umps, right? Yeah, but they're like they're just kind of like bear. They're just they're just they get it wrong, there's a robot that fixes it. We need there's nobody just I mean, there's video review now in the NBA.
Dr. TATWhat's your general sense of like ten years from now, if all four major sports have robot refs, are you on board with that?
Panda DanSure.
Dr. TATPart of the problem with robot refs though would be certain fields, right? Like the the NHL refs have to skate around the players and they have to like go and do the face-off. Like, I don't think a robot could do that.
Stat BoyYeah, I mean they could get something to do that one specific thing, but it wouldn't be like it could do everything else in the room. And then like it would have to be a specific robot that just does that.
Dr. TATAnd the referees in football, right? The ump is in the middle of is like behind the linebackers, right? Like that that dude's right in the middle of things.
SPEAKER_01Uh, you're you're gonna have a robot there? Do you think a robot in the Philadelphia defense is gonna last after hitch bot? You think we can have someone in there?
Dr. TATI think for baseball, it makes sense, right? They're they're mostly stationary, right? All the umps that would be pretty straightforward. Baseball, it works. Basketball, even there's like unless you had them on like a rail, like they just went back and forth, like the two, which they kind of do now.
Stat BoyWhy do you I mean you don't need a robot to go follow them? You can have robots stationed on both ends of the floor, independent robots for each side of the floor. You don't need something to follow.
Dr. TATAnd but then like when the players are upset with a call, they can't really argue with anybody.
SPEAKER_01Well, like what if they strike a robot? Like if you strike a human ref, that's assault and you go to jail. Yeah. But if you robots have rights. Do they?
Dr. TATThey will. That's my question. They will. Panda? What do you call a group of robot refs? A reaming of refs? A uh a ramrod of refs? An android of refs? An android refs that's just another name of that's just a humanized rot robot. Like if if if an NFL player gets pissed with a ref and the ref's a robot, and what if he like damages the robot? Do you just get fined? And then do you have to replace the robot?
Stat BoyWell, the fine would be to fix the robot.
unknownYeah.
Stat BoyThe damage you cause to the robot is how much you have to pay.
Dr. TATYeah. I mean, it's not that far. Yeah, like at some point they probably will just keep the humans on the field and then the robots check the humans in the human spots that are there currently. Like, you know, you go to New York and it's just a bunch of robots in the control room. In the control room, and they're just like, but you make them look like people just so it gives this facade. Yeah. You know, and so they could be can I ask you a quick question? Like, if you sure can. If you can be the ref of like any sport, which one would you choose? Do I have a robot overlord looking over my shoulder? You have a robot co-worker who's on the co-worker. That's a very loose term. Like where are we? Like, do I get paid more than the robot or less than the robot? No, you get paid the same.
SPEAKER_01They're like on the robot, but the robot doesn't even need to eat.
Dr. TATYeah, but you know, he like He's got a robot family to feed energy. Yeah, you might live in a robot house that he might have to like still pay like a little robot baby. Okay, so so your your original question was what team what sport would I referee with my robot coworker? Yeah, yeah. Football. I love football, man. I would, I would love and I would want to be, I think the best referee job is the line guy, the guy right down the line, like the guy who just pulls off sides at all. Yeah, touch-push aside. But other than that, like, because you're actually it's much more important than you think. And one of the things is you always have to have seven players on the line. And I don't think a lot of the average fan thinks about this, but there's so many times with the motion and with things, like you'll watch the wide out and you have to point to the ref so the ref knows that you've established yourself on the line. So he has to count every single play. So me and my coworker robot would just kind of go across the field from each other.
Stat BoyYeah, but isn't that like a courtesy? Because I've seen like receivers on the the far hash, they look at the ref like literally next to him, they look at him and they point at him, and they have to. No, no, no, you have to to establish that you're saying I'm on the line. But then I've seen the rest flag him for all sides before, after you know, I don't know if he like tricked them or something.
Dr. TATYeah, yeah. We would have to, we would have to talk to me and run you know, Rhonda the robot, you know, across the way with me. I'd be like, Rhonda, dude, what did you see? And she'd be like, I saw that AJ Brown was not on the line. And I'd be like, Can you speed it up, Rhonda? Like, we gotta get to the next play. Yeah, and then she's like, sorry, I think that AJ Brown was off the line, and it'd be like, he's dead to me anyway.
Stat BoySo yeah, robots don't sound like that anymore. What do they sound like?
Dr. TATThey sound like that.
Stat BoyHave you not listened to the chat GPT and talk have conversations? Does Chat GPT talk now? Yeah, you could do like a like a conversation. Yeah it's kind of like uh what was that movie, her, or what was the one with the oh, where Joey Phoenix like is like infatuated with a robot? Yeah, she was very humanistic.
Dr. TATWhat did she sound like?
Stat BoyLike a who played her?
Dr. TATWhat actress played her? Because did a did a robot play a robot?
Stat BoyI yes, that's no. Not at that time. Yeah, the movie was her.
Dr. TATAnd who is the actress? Who who was her?
Stat BoyAmy Adams?
Dr. TATReally? Amy Adams. I don't know. Well, she's at the end. Was it a real robot? Or was it like a phone? Was it like I forgot if it was?
Stat BoyI think he had her like in his pocket, right? It was a device of some sort. Okay.
Dr. TATIt was kind of like a metaphor. Well, I was thinking my co-worker robots probably like Scarlett Johansson was Scarjoe.
Stat BoyYeah, she was the Samantha was the character that played. Samantha. Easy there.
Dr. TATHe's getting a little excited. Whoa, whoa. How about like when they say this is like not about robots, but when they say the the player is eligible as a receiver, like what's that all about? Again, this comes to why be the line judge is the most important person. Essentially, you can't you can't be an eligible receiver and be covered on the line, right? So the line, so if a if a tackle can't be eligible if the tight end's next to him, so that tight end can can get off the line, but then they have to declare that he's eligible. And if you do not declare that he's elbow eligible and he goes out for a pass, it's illegal. It's an illegal forward pass.
Stat BoyAnd the and the defense needs to like know which players are eligible and aren't eligible, right? Well, yeah, I think that's the idea. Because that's what happened. That's what happened in Detroit. That's right. That's exactly right. There was a play where they had like a trick play, and the guy came in and apparently he thought he communicated with the ref that he was going to be eligible. He did not. And I think the ref maybe had like some visual like all, but didn't actually record it. So then they did the play, they scored the touchdown, everyone was going nuts. So me ineligible.
Dr. TATSo Rhonda and I have to be on the same page with that to make sure that you were Rhonda. Yeah, and it's it's seven. So the defense can do whatever the hell they want, right? The defense is just a group of wide of a group. What's a group of a defense called? A gang green. You know, that was the classic. Uh, a steel curtain of of like they can go eleven people eaters. They can go eleven wide nine, they can go eleven across the line, they could go zero people on the line, they could all just stay on the sideline and leave the middle wide open if they wanted to. They can do whatever the heck they want. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Stat BoyBut the offense has a lot of has set rules.
Dr. TATSet rules. You've got to have seven on the line no matter what. Have to have seven. That's good. Yeah. No, that's good knowledge. Yeah. And if you see a play where there's not seven on the line, you let me know.
Stat BoyWell, I always enjoy the play where they do like the punt where they're the center is literally the only guy on the line, and the rest of the they're still on the literally on the line on the outside. Yeah. And they're like, what is this one, mate?
Dr. TATThere was a there was a stretch of time where um, and you can look this up, Step Boy. There was a thing called the Navy spread, which was an offensive package where you had a center, two guards, and then you would have tackles and wide outs wide at the ends of the field, and that was just the formation they used. And it satisfied the requisite seven players. But we actually had dots used to do used to do the navy spread. They don't have to be next to the guards, the tackles, they can be wider. They can be wherever they want. Yeah. I mean, it becomes then you're just talking about naming, like, right, like the positions, but yeah, yeah, you know, it it that part doesn't matter. And actually, the most famous what you're talking about, Statboy, it reminds me of the play, one of my favorite Dallas meltdowns of all time. Zeke Elliott. Do you remember this? Zeke played center and he snapped the ball back for Dak. It was like a last ditch play, and he gets absolutely trucked by what game was. I think that was Zeke's final play as a cowboy. I think it was. I think it like ended the year. I think I I just remember such joy watching. He got bull rushed and just got pancaked. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, I remember that.
Stat BoyYeah, it was uh final play in regulation by Zeke Elliott. Snaps the Prescott.
Dr. TATWell, who are they playing? The Niners? Yeah, yeah. The Niners love crushing the dreams.
Stat BoyAnd it was Jimmy Ward who tackled him for an eight-yard law.
Dr. TATJimmy Ward's a great player. Do you know where he went to college? No. I don't. Did he go to college? What's a group of colleges called? Was he like a high? He was like a high NCAA. A university.
SPEAKER_01Oh, no, a university is one college. It's a bunch of colleges.
Dr. TATOh, I guess that's true, right? Like university is a group of schools. Jimmy Ward went to he he feels like a blue or purple. I think he was like a high pick. I could be wrong. I want to say he's a Kansas State wildcat. He's a Kentucky blue hen. Kentucky Wildcat, excuse me. Is he in the SEC? From the SEC.
Stat BoyNo. Okay.
SPEAKER_05A C C.
Dr. TATYeah, give us the conference. The conference is the let's see here. Is it one of the big four? The Mac. Oh, the Mac. Ball State? Marshall. Mac. Miami, Ohio? A Mac? Jamie Ward went to a Mac school. Kent State? Kent State? Alright.
Stat BoyYeah, no more guessing.
Dr. TATYeah, I don't know.
Stat BoyNorthern Illinois. Ooh, okay.
Dr. TATOh, I wonder if he was with that guy, that that quarterback from Northern Illinois. That was a huge bust. What was his name? Payer Pate. You know who I'm talking about? Poyer, maybe? Was it Poyer? Oh, Ponder? No, Christian Ponder was a seminar. Yeah, yeah. Oh, yeah, he was.
SPEAKER_01There was a Northern Wasn't there a Northern Illinois quarterback that got way overdrafted?
Dr. TATIt wasn't Ridd the Ridden Riddler. The Riddler? I don't know. I have no idea. Yeah. Anyway, I digress. Let's talk about the NFL. Yeah. And about the Eagles schedule. In fact, I think it's we are overdue for our sports radio segment where we all go through wins and losses.
Stat BoyOh, yes. I like that.
Dr. TATYeah. All right. So, Staff Boy, if you if you don't mind. Give me a general sense before we go through that, Dan, of of what your thoughts are on the schedule overall. Just big picture. I mean, just some highlights or you know, we play on Thanksgiving in Dallas. We talk, I think we talked about that afternoon, way before your, you know, you'll be eating dinner at 8.30. They play at about 4 30. That's right. That got leaked, right? Christmas Eve, they play at home against the Texans at like 8 30 at night. That'll be interesting. I mean, I'm curious to see like who goes to that game. You know, Christmas Eve night, like that's just a crazy time to have an Eagles game, you know? Yeah. And then they play in London against the Jacksonville Jaguars early October. Jaguars. Yeah, yeah. So it's like week five. The Jaguars. They open up against the Washington Clarendons. They do, yeah. We start. It's on September 13th. It's getting a little headless.
Stat BoyWe have three preseason gigs. Yeah.
Dr. TATWhat about the how do you feel about the preseason we got coming? Preseason champs. Well, the Bengals are coming to Philly, which maybe again? Yeah. Wait, they're coming again. Yeah, yeah. Oh, I'm bringing it up. That's their only preseason game. Like in Philly.
Stat BoyIt's the Jets. It's like their Jets. Remember how they used to always play the Jets in the final preseason? Oh man. But it was crazy. Yeah.
Dr. TATRemember last year when Jamar Chase was amazing. Barrow play. Ringo got like burned by uh Jamar Chase. I think he ruined Ringo's career just from that point. I think Ringo's career is on a he's basically a special teams guy after that.
Stat BoyHe's a Beatles. He's a good special team guy. He's on a very good team, but he's not a very good performer.
Dr. TATThat's very good, stat boy, I do think. Yeah. Yeah, it's been interesting. There's that famous Beatles quote where they they ask McCartney, Paul McCartney like, who's the best? What did they ask? They ask about Ringo. I'm going to butcher this quote, so please fix it for me. Paul McCartney or maybe Lennon, because Lennon was, I think, a bit of a jerk, honestly. If we're, you know, I don't like to speak ill of the dead or murdered, but they asked about Ringo's star and how he is as a musician, and they were like, Ringo's not even the best drummer in the band. In the Beatles. In the Beatles, right? That's it.
Stat BoyIs that what he said? Ringo isn't even the best drummer in the Beatles.
Dr. TATWho said that? Lennon or McCartney?
Stat BoyLooks like it was from Lennon, yeah.
Dr. TATYeah, Lennon, that jerk.
Stat BoyWell, who was the best drummer in the Beatles?
Dr. TATYeah, who do you think was the best drummer in the Beatles? What would you call a group of overachieving British rockers from the 60s? Beatles? Yeah, I don't know. That was a joke.
Stat BoyBut yeah. It was actually spoken by a British comedian. It wasn't even from the Beatles. It was just thought of being from the Beatles itself. But Jasper Please. Sorry. Jasper Carrot from 1983.
Dr. TATWell, Mr. Carrot, you know, if you said anything like that near Roy McElroy, you would have been out. Just gone. You know, Dan? Yeah. Get him out. So anyway, you were saying like the Jaguars, we oh the Bengals. We open up with the Bengals. No, we open against the Ravens.
Stat BoyOh yeah. Yeah, there are third preseason game. No, the first one Baltimore? It's in Baltimore first preseason. Oh, the Max Crosby. And the second week is the big one, right? Because there's a potential trade here with AJ. Yeah.
Dr. TATI are we ready to talk about that yet? I don't think we are. No, next week. All right. Let's let's June 1st. I'm not ready to talk about that yet. Yeah. Like emotionally. Yeah. Okay. Good. Let's let's just be that's interesting. So yeah, someone had a report. Rapapour had a report today that the Patriots don't want to give up a first round pick. In 27. Ah, okay. Is that what it was? Yeah. I mean, we'll see. I'm kind of sick of talking about AJ. Yeah, like I just I'm not ready to I'm not feeling emotionally ready for it because I think we're we're preparing for he's not even at the minicamp thing. You know, they're mini campaign. It's gonna be a dark day. So anyway, the schedule, right? So we so you sorry, stat boy.
Stat BoySo start start a preseason at Baltimore, then second week in preseason at New England. Yeah, third preseason game and final is home versus the Bengals. You can count that I will be there.
Dr. TATYou will be. I'll be there with a little tat.
Stat BoyAnd tickets are as low as $32.
Dr. TAT$32. Very affordable. Lock it down. Take the family to see the four stringers. Uh I just want to watch Jamar Chase just run warm-up. I mean, he might not even do that. Makai Lemon might be playing that game. That would be cool. I, you know, I would love to see, you know, because you know, maybe I'll become a lemon head like the rest of us.
Stat BoyThere you go.
Dr. TATYeah. And we actually do not have any podcast evidence of how I felt about that draft pick. So I can I can really say whatever you want. I could be right or wrong about how I felt about him. They did have they had press Schrodinger's. We'll keep going through the schedule. You know, Staff Boy can guide us through that. I I will just like to say there were press conferences this last week, I think, or early this week with Man. That was Mannion Man's first opportunity to speak to the media, which was cool. I thought he did a great job. You know, I know people are like all about Mannion, like you hear Lori, Roseman, Sirianni talk about how they act like he's like the second coming, you know. But but he's good, you know. But yeah, you just don't know. He's never called plays before. He he's saying all the right things. He I do he definitely seems better than Petulo. Like Petulo just seemed like over his head with that. But Hertz spoke very highly of Mannion. So yeah, I'm uh you know, I'm optimistic with him. Hope Springs Eternal Panda. I'm with you, brother. Yeah, you know, and and we have to see, but I think he has purported himself in a way that I would agree has been good. You know, we're in the we're in the honeymoon period, right? So it would be quite shocking if anybody had anything ill to say of him after the first you know, OTA. Yeah, yeah. They're like, yeah, this guy doesn't have it.
SPEAKER_05Everyone would be like, oh but we did get some good news, right?
Dr. TATVic Fangio was quite outspoken about how he felt about things, right? Did you hear that? Mm-hmm. Yeah. So I heard like the two takeaways I had from that. I'm not sure if you're like uh well, one thing was he said he wasn't close to retiring. I thought that was pretty interesting. You know, he said he's like gotta still a couple years. He said he's reverse aging. Really? He said he's he's aging in reverse. It's gotta be the balls. Do you think it's it's gotta be the meatballs, right? Yeah. Maybe it was from being at the PGA championship. He just, you know, it was like a real. Do you think he just felt the youth around him and just and I I bet he made all these statements right around the time the Phillies were getting I think Phillies were getting better. Yeah, I think he picks his career based on how the Phillies are doing. So we just have to hope the Phillies can get back on track. I think he said he's better at golf than Stoutlin. They were talking about that a little bit. Really? Yeah, like he said he golfs with Stoutlin, but he always wins. I thought that was kind of interesting. And he's older than Stoutlin, too.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
Dr. TATHe did speak very highly of Reek Woolen. I thought that was interesting. Yeah, so maybe that's what you were referring to. Reek the Freak. Yeah. Someone I saw like a comparison. Someone on X posted it. Like it was him speaking about Adore Jackson last year, and then him speaking about Reek. Like he was very like critical of Adori last year. Like, and they're kind of you know, sort of similar comparisons, I guess. Like not in terms of their size or anything, but just like where they're at in their career a little bit. It's much smaller and slower and not as good. Adory was definitely older, like but uh and older. But both like both on a one year deal trying to prove themselves, is what I mean by that. And like Adori, he was always like, Well, like we'll see what he's got, like he's got a lot to prove, you know. Like almost like challenging him, but requel and he was like this guy, very impressed with his film. Like he's a freak. Do you think he's already given him a meatball? That's the Question. Maybe. Yeah. He seems super excited. He must have a thing for tall, tall guys that are athletic. He's got a type. Dick's got a type. He's got he's got this type he likes, which are really fast tall players. Yeah. It's so weird. He likes avatars. Yeah. Yeah. So yeah, that was. But yeah, he said, I don't know if this was like a breaking news, but I I heard him say breaking news. Cooper to Jean. Like the Jean. It is. It's very like if you get real technical about that, which we do, like the Eagles positional battles, like who's going to be the safety? Like he gave good intel on that. So he said, Yeah, he said Coop's going to be the safety during base packages. Yep. Coop moves to nickel during the nickel, as he always does. And then yeah, like who's going to be that safety? So he spoke pretty good about Epps. Uh what is it, Marcus Epps, right? Yeah, we heard he got all the reps. He's been getting all the reps. Epps got the reps. So yeah, he trusts he trusts Epps. And and Epps did play pretty well last year. Like I think we talked about it.
SPEAKER_01I think he's very serviceable, Dan.
Dr. TATYeah. He did say Michael Carter is playing safety. So Michael Carter is traditionally a cornerback, but he said he's taking reps at safety and they're going to see how he does. So he's definitely in that competition. I would say Carter and Epps. I think those are so yeah, that's pretty I mean, I forget if he mentioned any other safeties. Like there's like other guys that are more fringe players, but but yeah, I mean you're gonna have McCu and then even McCub is like a question mark at safety. I mean, he like they are speaking highly of him, like he's he's got big expectations, you know. But but yeah, I mean I you know we're very optimistic about the Eagles, but but yeah, like that safety, that's a pretty questionable safety, you know, backfield there, you know. Yeah, maybe. I I actually think great cornerback. I think we're gonna have the best defensive backfield in the NFL. Yeah, I I actually that's my big that's my big swing. That's my take, that's my may take. Write it down, folks. Yeah number one defensive backfield in the NFL.
Stat BoyOkay, how are we rating that?
Dr. TATBased on elaborate on that ranking of defensive backfields in the NFL.
Stat BoyYeah, okay. Is there like a metric that you're using?
Dr. TATThere is. It's when you look at the defensive backfield, they say this is the same.
Stat BoyI mean the cornerback that's all objective. It might be that yeah, it's probably the top three corner, like best quarterback. Are we talking most pass defended, most perceptions, like best defensive?
Dr. TATBut what about the safeties? Like how do you feel about the safeties? You feel like I feel great.
Stat BoyBecause it's going to mostly be Cooper DeGene. Yeah. Well, that's something we haven't seen him do much, right? So that's a thing where it's like he's gonna be a new position. Is he gonna be having little growing pains?
Dr. TATIt's so much easier than corner. Like safety is where corners retire.
Stat BoyYou know, yeah, but that's where I feel like you take him at his strong position in nickel and you're moving him to a position of need that's an easy easier. Might be easier, but then we lose our strength at nickel, and then it's not during nickel packages. It's only correct, yeah. So you're just hoping. Yeah, but that means he's on the field more, which means he's also more experienced. Like he's tired, you know, he's out there running around more. I guess more prone to any truth to that.
Dr. TATBut if you have an all-pro on the field more often, you're gonna have the number one defensive backfield.
SPEAKER_01By what metric? Which one do you want? I'll just pick one and I'll say it's number one. Do you want to say they had the most tackles? They're gonna have the most tackles, most interceptions, and most passes defended. Jeez, all right.
Stat BoyThat's a lot. All right, they're gonna have to lead in all those characters? They're gonna have to lead in all three. Or top ten in all those categories. Number one.
Dr. TATThis is the best NFL defensive backfield in the year of our Lord 2026. Yeah, no, it's yeah, I can't wait. I can't wait. Dan's just like, whatever. All right, let's go into the schedule. I mean, Quinn, yeah. This is my May take. Every May, I make a take and it's right. Well, write it down. Yeah. Last week of May, my May take 26. Write it down, Dan. Number one. Number one, the best defensive backfield in the NFL. There will not be a better defensive backfield unless there's like a robot one or something else in the NFL. Let's just let that sink in. Most tackles, most interceptions, most deflections, most passes defended, yeah. All number one. Yeah, all number one. It's all it's recorded. Most fumbles for us, most fumbles are covered. This is gonna be great. Sure. I I listen, I'm willing to take number one across all of it. Least points allowed. Yeah, I listen. Here's my here's my stamp made out of rubber, and here it goes. Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom.
Stat BoyHe's just making it harder on himself.
Dr. TATYeah, that's fine. I believe in him. I really do. Let's go through the schedule. Speaking of which.
Stat BoyAll right. So now let's get into the real season. Yeah. Speaking of hyperbole. So before we even get through the actual roster, I do want to make a comment here that the roster, based on strength of schedule for the Eagles, which you look at, and you basically look at the games they're playing against teams, and they take their record from the season before, and they they see where they rank across the league. So the Eagles fall 23rd, which makes them the tenth easiest strength of schedule in the NFL next season. But 23 plus 10 is 33. That's the hardest, the team ranked number one has the hardest schedule. So they're at zero? Number one, not zero. So the Cardinals are number one on this ranking, which is Boy, that's tough. So they have the hardest. But they're like the worst team.
Dr. TATYeah. Is that because they're playing the Rams twice and the Niners might be because they're but you know, to counter that, the Rams have the third hardest and they play in the same one with the Because of the Niners and the Seahawks, right?
Stat BoyYeah, but then they also play all the time.
Dr. TATAnd then who are we playing? Because we always play our division. We play one AFC division and one.
Stat BoyYeah, so we play AFC South, it looks like, right? We played. Which is great. Jackson's Indianapolis. That's a good one. That's a good one.
Dr. TATTexans are going to be good, but otherwise, I think that's a very winnable set of games. Yeah. Okay, so let's get into that schedule, right?
Stat BoySo just keep that in mind. So we start the season off week one versus the Clarendons, right?
Dr. TATClarendon, September 13th. So there's the day before that Penn Penn State's playing at Temple at the link. I just thought that was going to be a good one. Oh, thank you. Yeah. But yeah, it's going to be a crazy weekend, I'm feeling win. Yeah, I think it's going to yeah, I mean the link's gonna be on fire. All right, one and oh. Yeah. When? Eagles will beat the Clarendons. One and oh. One and oh.
Stat BoyYep. Next. All right. Next game.
Dr. TATWeek two at Tennessee. Win. Yeah, that's like one of the worst teams on the league. A big win. We're two and oh.
Stat BoyYep. Week three, we're at Chicago. This is an NBC SB. Sunday night football. Sunday night. Monday night, Monday night, Monday night.
Dr. TATThat's gonna be a really hard game, I actually think. Because I think Chicago still has it. Some people think they're they're the team that's gonna be the Clarendons of 2025 where they fall off. You know, they they like overachieved one year and then it was a bit of a mirage. I have they're kind of fraudulent, like we said. I can't. I'm with you. Win.
Stat BoyI think they're gonna lose that one. Okay. I like that.
Dr. TATSo two and one win or loss. I say win for the Eagles. Okay.
Stat BoyOkay. Week four, we head into the greatest month of all time, October, and we played the Rams. Yeah, it's at the link.
Dr. TATIt's a one o'clock game, yeah. Win. Yeah, I'm gonna get I mean we always beat the Rams, right? We always beat the Rams. They are a good team, but we always we we have Jordan Baseball's gonna block another field goal and run it back. One, maybe two. And by then we'll have already had like four interceptions.
Stat BoyYeah, staff's still gonna be playing that week.
Dr. TATBut Stafford's now now he's nervous because he's got that rookie quarterback on the sideline.
Stat BoySo win. Yeah, it's the Rams. Too much drama again. Do you think win or loss? Staffboy. Three and one. Four and oh yeah, yeah. Yep. Okay, so week five, we head over to the other side of the pond and we played Sunday morning. We got a win there. Yeah. Win. Yeah. I'm with you. I don't know. All right, four and one, five and oh.
Dr. TATYeah.
Stat BoyAll right. Week six, we are home versus Carolina.
Dr. TATI mean, that's gotta be a win. That's a tie. I have a tie. We're gonna tie Carolina. That is gonna be a weird game. And we're gonna lose the tie. You know, there's a winner and loser for the tie. We're gonna lose that tie. I'm not being curious. Okay.
Stat BoyI think we're losing it. It's not that good. I think we'll lose it. I think Carolina's ascending. I think they've made some good. I think we're gonna lose the tie. I think we'll lose lose.
Dr. TATYou're gonna lose the loss.
Stat BoyThat's a loss for those.
Dr. TATOkay, so you have them losing the loss.
Stat BoyYou're coming back from London and everything. I think it's a trap game. Yeah.
Dr. TATYeah, so 6-0 and one. Or no, 5-0 and one for me. What do you have? You have 6-0? 6-0. Four. 4-2, yeah.
Stat BoyOkay. A little more pessimistic. All right. Week seven, still in October, we get our Dallas game at home in Village Monday night.
Dr. TATWin. Yeah, that's a win. That's a win. That's a big game. Yeah. That's a huge game. That's the game we should go to, actually. Is that Monday night? Yeah, Monday night, 26th.
Stat BoyYeah, let's set that up. And I think it's a win, too. I'll be eating a meat pie and victory with you boys. That'd be sad. Yeah. I feel like they're going to avenge that Carolina loss. Yeah, you and I both. Week eight. We now go to DC and we play the Claritons Sunday night. Win. Ooh. So they're going to beat him twice.
Dr. TATYeah, I mean, Josh Harris is not going to beat the Eagles. I don't think so either. He might be in jail and go. Yeah, right. That's a win. Eight and oh, seven, oh, and one.
Stat BoyI get lost. Okay. Five and three. I like Washington enough. I think they have pieces on their team that could be competitive. Yeah. I do think they're going to redress the receiver issue they have currently. So yeah. It's one of those trap games after a Dallas win. All right. Week nine. We are home against the Giants. All right.
Dr. TATBy this?
SPEAKER_01What date is that game? The 8th of November.
Dr. TATOkay. So this is pre-midterms. So I think Jackson Dart still technically will be accepted by the team because if a blue wave comes in, the big blue is going to get rid of him. So I would say it's pre-midterm. So it is a loss. We're going to lose to the Giants. At home. A disappointing loss.
Stat BoyThey're going to come here and beat us.
Dr. TATThey're going to come here and beat us. No, I see a win. I don't think the Giants have won at the link in quite a while. Yeah. I think this is going to be one of those like, what are we doing games?
unknownYeah.
Stat BoyI think we'll win too. I think we'll be a win. I think they have an improved defense. I mean, that line looks a little weird. I think that defensive line.
Dr. TATI think this is going to be the let's panic about Mannion's offense game because the Giants defense is going to be way, way better than everybody thinks. I think that it's going to be one of the best D-lines. Not number one, but one of the best D lines in the NFL. Yeah. So you better, you better be ready to block. I don't know if we are.
Stat BoyWell, our line's healthy. You know, we came out of last week.
Dr. TATI mean, how many like those Eagles fan stem cells and in two of our guys' backs? Like, do we know how long they're going to last? Probably not that long. Yep. Okay. Loss. All right. Week 10 is a bye week. We're going to win the bye week. Yeah. I think I think it's going to be a solid W, don't you think? Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I would just think of last year we we started the bye week. Yeah, said hike was. We smelled sweet off of it. Yeah, that's right.
Stat BoyThat's a good week.
Dr. TATWe're going to win the bye week. Do you think win or loss? I think we win something. Do you think you're going to win?
Stat BoyUnless someone gets hurt during the bye week.
Dr. TATThat happens and you lose the bye week.
Stat BoyThat's like the week you go do whatever, like relax and go so do something. Go like jet.
Dr. TATMaybe go visit AJ Dillon or something. Yeah, I think you just have any rabbit. Yeah, go. Oh God. Yeah, go go read some read the book of Psalms with uh with AJ. Okay.
Stat BoyNow we come out of the bye and we play the cross state rival Pittsburgh in Philly.
Dr. TATWin. Yeah, that's definitely a heavy win. Like I think we're gonna beat the dog. I mean it might be weird. Beat the dog out. Will Howard I think I think I think by then Rogers is gonna be Will Allerd? Drawler or Will Hour. I think Will Howard is gonna be in. I think I think I think by then Aaron Rodgers will be out. It might be dust. He might be dust.
Stat BoyHim and Stafford might turn as dust this year. Yeah.
Dr. TATLike the Infinity, you know, when they they snap, you know, it's just gone. Yeah, it's just and and Mike McCarthy's like, oh, there goes Aaron Rodgers. Willow getting there. Willow. All right. Yep. So we're in there. Do you guys have your records? Nope. I'm eight, one, and one. Is that was week 10?
Stat BoyI have what? One, two, and two.
Dr. TATYou have three losses. You're seven and three. I'm eight, one and one, and you're ten and perfect. Damn, Dan. Yeah. All right. Spoken like a true season ticket holder.
Stat BoyNow we move to the Thanksgiving game. So we play at Dallas on Thanksgiving. That's a loss. So it's a short week.
Dr. TATShort week.
Stat BoyOn a on a holiday.
Dr. TATWill Howard has given us the everything he could, and you know, the defense is a little tired. Yeah, I'm going to say a loss as well. Okay. First loss of the season is week 12 for Dan or 11. Week 11 or week 12. Yeah. Hey, Nick Nick's Your Annie always starts hot. That's that's week 12, but that's our 11th game. Although we won the Super Bowl that year we were two and two, so it's very interesting. Yeah. Okay, so you have them at 10 1. I have nine, two and one, and you have Yeah. No, that the math doesn't add up. I have eight, two, and one, then I guess. Yeah. How many games is this? That's the 11th or 12th game? Twelfth game. That's the 11th game. 11th game. All right. So yeah. 12th week. Yeah. So I have eight, two and one, you have ten and one. Yeah. And Statboys.
Stat BoyI think we're gonna win that.
Dr. TATOkay.
Stat BoyIf we do, we're doing this. I think maybe they'll look past the Steelers a little bit and they'll just be like, hey, let's game plan this by week for our two week in advance. Okay. Week 13, which is 12th game, is versus the Cardinals at the Cardinals.
Dr. TATWin. Yeah, who's uh Cardinals quarterback? Jacoby Brissett.
Stat BoyWell, current at your Chad guy.
SPEAKER_01Chad Powers. Chad Powers.
Dr. TATYeah. Jacoby Brisket might be win. Okay.
Stat BoyYeah, that's a win.
Dr. TATA lot of Eagles fans will be there too. Arizona.
Stat BoyAll right. Sunday the 13th. We play the Colts. One o'clock game. Home. Win. I'm going to go lost.
Dr. TATI just think Shane Steichen might come in and get redemption somehow. It's going to be like a sneaky game.
Stat BoyOkay. You got a little like, you know, Tyler Warren there. I wish we were around. Daniel Jones shows back up, maybe.
Dr. TATYeah. Yeah. I mean, I just yeah, I just I'm gonna I mean he's picking a loss.
Stat BoyJonathan Taylor. They can't win them all. You can't win them all. I mean, they were pretty much on fire last year until Daniel Jones got hurt. So we'll see where he comes back.
Dr. TATSee how he recovers from his Achilles.
Stat BoyYeah. Yeah, I think we'll win that game. Okay. Being at home. Yeah. All right. Now we go play the defending champs here. Week 15, we play Seattle. Yeah. We haven't beaten Saturday at five. Yeah.
Dr. TATWe haven't beaten Seattle in forever. It's a loss.
SPEAKER_01We just don't beat.
Dr. TATThat's gonna be like we cannot beat Seattle. Because that's like what this that's like mid-December, right? There's gonna be a lot of like Christmas parties and people are gonna be watching the DSC. I'm not gonna watch it. I'm gonna be it might be Yankee Swap. It's a bird, it's gonna be a bird beat down. They they have our bird number. They're they're like Yeah, but we got Rek Wool and he used to play for them. He's gonna tell us I think that's gonna make it worse. Tell us everything they do. I think he's gonna have his worst game against them. I really do. Yeah, but Vic loves it. He's Vic's type. I understand that, but he's not gonna be great every game.
Stat BoyWell, like you said, we're gonna have the best defensive backfield in the league. We are and they're gonna be playing against his former team. I think he's gonna lose his head. We're gonna shut down the best receiving. I think he gets last season.
SPEAKER_01He might get CJGJ'd out of the game. I think he might get kicked out. The dude loses his head easily.
Stat BoyWhat is he he pulls like Jackson Smith and Jigba out with him? Like he gets in a fight with Freddy. I mean, that'd be great, Jack.
Dr. TATThat would be great. I would love that. McDonald's throwing to nobody. But Reek won't have a great game. So loss. Well, that's I'm gonna say win. Yeah, I I I yeah, I think like they beat the Bills last year. That was like a weird game. Yeah, even though that was a way. Like I think the Eagles are just gonna rise up and win that game. I mean it's a battle of the birds, you know.
Stat BoyBattle of the birds. A good one. Yeah, I'll take a win. I think we'll beat them. Nice. I think Seattle has one of those Super Bowl hangover type seasons where everyone is afraid and then they find out they're they're all too much.
Dr. TATI think a good and and you might be able to look this up. That like a good percentage of the defending champs don't make the playoffs the next year. Yeah, yeah.
Stat BoyIt hurts. It's a lot of extra football to play.
Dr. TATYeah.
Stat BoyAll right, week 16, Thursday night, Christmas Eve.
Dr. TATYeah, Texas.
Stat BoyAgainst Texas.
Dr. TATOh loss. That's a win. I mean, Eagles, they're not gonna disappoint on both Thanksgiving and Christmas. They are loss. I think the Texans have they're gonna have the second best defensive backfield in the NFL. Santa's gonna be flying his sleigh right over the link during that game. The Eagles are gonna win. And he's gonna, you know, his his phrase is gonna go backwards. He's gonna be like, oh, oh, oh, God. He lost. Now the question is, you know, their D their their offense is gonna be interesting to watch, you know.
Stat BoyYeah, I I don't know where I fall with these guys. I feel like we're probably due for a loss here. Loss.
Dr. TATWe're gonna go in a two-game losing skid, and they would have ruined Christmas. Yeah. I'm I'm mentally prepared for Christmas to be ruined.
Stat BoyOkay.
Dr. TATYeah. I say win, so I'm still at two losses. Yeah.
Stat BoyAll right. Week 17, we're at San Francisco Sunday. When Sunday night. When we come back, we're ready. We get a lot of extra time for that because we go from a Thursday to a Sunday game. Yeah, that'll be nice. Tonight Sunday.
Dr. TATWe're gonna feel good. When I'll say loss. Yeah, that's just tough at San Francisco. They play as well. McCaffrey's like a freak. Yeah.
Stat BoyHe is. Well, we we might be getting in territory where we're starting to like rest players if we're going well enough. Like Dan's hasn't lost a game all season.
Dr. TATYeah, they're well, they might be vying for the number one seed for in Dan's uh realm. Yeah. Yeah. And then who's our last game?
Stat BoyWell, my my game prediction there will be a loss. Okay. All right. And then the week 18 game is our last in division game versus the Giants. Win. It has no date or time. It's a flex game.
Dr. TATSo it's just in the ether. So TBD for all that. TBD. Win. Yeah, I think win. And I even think even if we're resting our starters, we'll still win. Because I think the Giants won't have anything to play for either. Yeah. They might be jockeying for a d a new, they'll need a new quarterback by then. Dardo have been impeached. I think almost definitely. Big deal. Might be a Danny Tanner McKee game, we'll see. Yeah, for the Giants and for the Eagles. I hear they're fighting for the game. Yeah, that was crazy. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01So let's let's go out.
Dr. TATDid everyone mentally does everyone know what the record? 14 and 3. 14 and 3. That's a that's an amazing season. I am at 12, 4 and 1. Yeah.
Stat BoyI didn't I didn't keep track of them.
Dr. TATSo I'll so Dan, you think you think they're gonna be a three peat for the NFC East.
Stat BoyOh yeah.
Dr. TATThat'll be unheard of. That hasn't happened in like a thousand years, I think. Right, Stopboy? Yeah, that's been very cowboys and the giants. Yeah. Dan's just, you know, he's just flopping it down on the table saying, that's what I think. 14 and 3. Get me a meat pie. Yeah. Put on the screen. Lamb and what is it? Lamb and uh rosemary? I thought it was coriander. Lamb and rosemary. Often goes together. Time and rosemary go. Is there thyme in it as well? Did we eat which ones did we eat, stat boy, when we went for our lamb and rosemary? Do we both have the sausage one too? I guess the sausage roll, though. Which is essentially a corn dog without a stick. Uh you know. Oh, it's delicious. I I thought it was a little it was essentially. Yeah, but yeah, we'll have to decide what game if you guys can make it to a channel. I'll I'll treat you today. I'll get a ticket for stat boy. I always treat stat boy to a game. I mean, Monday, yeah, the only thing is like with work and stuff. But I mean that that would be I mean I thought you were a tree. But I'll just take off. Yeah. I'm taking off. Yeah. No, that and it's Monday night. Yeah. It's Monday night football.
Stat BoyThat's Cowboys. Yeah. That's a hot deal. That'd be a good game.
unknownYeah.
Stat BoyAnd it's in October.
Dr. TATOh, it'd be nice weather. I'll bring my kids. It'll be a blast. No, it's gonna be uh Yeah, but that's that's late October, right? Late October.
Stat BoyMonday the 26th. Yeah, it's leading into Halloween week.
Dr. TATSo people will be in costume. Yeah. Awesome. So I think in the interest, I think there's a big we have some mailbags we can. Can you un uh unload the sack here? Yeah, we'll go a couple real quick. We don't have to do them all, by the way. You know, we're not crazy, but we're not crazy. We're not crazy. But we're interested. We're we're participating.
Stat BoyWell, I yes, we are. I think let's maybe have a theme here with some of these. We'll go through two. And I think the theme here will be our US men's soccer team with the World Come coming up here. So okay. So uh this comes from uh Turtle in the Basement. He says, Gentlemen and stat boy, the US men's soccer team has a defensive problem. Really, the only defender who has played well for the U.S. is Chris Richards. He went down with an ankle injury last week. His coach said that it was two torn ligaments in the ankle, but it's expected to be ready to play on Wednesday. He says, What would a fake doctor think about Richards' ability to play with this injury? And how Limited, is he going to be in the World Cup? Thanks, Turtle in the Basement. Wait, so the can you repeat the injury one more time? He has two torn ligaments in his ankle.
Dr. TATDid he identify which ligaments? He did not. So let's pick that up. Okay. Like was look it up. Was one of them a Joey Liz Frank? Because then it's a whole different can of worms. Was he riding a horse? First off, was he right? Yeah, exactly. First off, turtle in the basement. Thank you for your email. I didn't know he has Wi-Fi down there, but I would say that if it's a lower ankle sprain, right? If the let's say it's something along the lines of like a strain, a grade one or grade two strain of the anterior talofibular ligament, which is probably the most common strained ligament in the ankle out on the lateral side of the midfoot and hindfoot, that very much could be something that would hamper him but not limit his abilities overall. But, you know, if we're talking about something on the inside part of the ankle, let's say the deltoid ligament, or, you know, Dan, maybe I don't know, like one of the one of the midfoot ligaments, or something over the cuneiform, or even something more distal, like an intertarsal membrane ligament, something like that, then we might be in trouble. I don't know. Yeah. No, that's great. Fake doctor analysis. And we did did he say which foot it was, the right? No, he didn't say. So we don't know which foot it is, and we don't know which matter. I don't know. I mean, does a soccer player kick out? What do you call a group of ligaments? I would call them a legion. A Legion of Ligaments. So it sounds like two of the legionnaires are down. He should just like take a little vacation, let someone else step in. I mean, this guy is in nice shape to put it. I mean, his last name is Richard, so if I know anything about people with the last name Richards that play professional sports, he'll be in CIL partying by the time they're kicked out. So without knowing the foot, left or right, and which ligaments, I'm gonna say he's gonna do just fine. I would clear him for I would fake clear him for his participation. He should just use the that the magic spray that they use in software. Oh, the antler spray. Yeah, they just spray it and then they got it.
SPEAKER_01Do they have some of that? Does Ray Lewis have a little extra in the down in Baltimore? That cesspool? Yeah, I'm not there anymore. I don't know.
Dr. TATYeah, thank God we get free gotcha out of there. Huge.
unknownAll right.
Dr. TATWell, thank you, Turtle. Thanks, Turtle. Yeah, thanks, Turtle. Such little information to make make a medical decision. Yeah. You know. Great point. Wow. Yeah, that that sounded seamless. I hope no one has any idea of what we just talked about. That was one of the most magical things I've ever heard of.
Stat BoyI think I just blacked out. Yeah.
Dr. TATBriefly. Briefly. Thank you again. Yeah, basement. Anyway, next question. Next question. Next question. All right.
Stat BoySo this email is from a fan. Hi, a fan. It's a shout-out.
SPEAKER_01It says like a physical fan or a human that supports us.
Stat BoyWell, it's a capitalized. Wouldn't it be wild if a fan emailed us like an inanimate object? Yeah. Maybe a robotic fan.
Dr. TATYeah.
Stat BoyCapital F, so it's a proper whatever this is.
Dr. TATNice shout out fan.
Stat BoyYeah. So okay, here we go. It says it said, hike. I wanted to send over a couple questions as I wasn't sure if the next podcast would be scheduled within the next month. Well, this fan is really sarcastic fan.
Dr. TATWhat an ass class. I think we should go to the next email. Let's get next. Well, let's go.
Stat BoyQuestion one of the several questions here starts with Can you name a better coaching duo in recent memory than Lane Kiffin and Ed Oregon? Hashtag GoTigers. All right, we got an LSU fan of some sort.
Dr. TATNow, is this fan, the so-called person or object that emailed us, are they being facetious? Because they are offering some news that I think you were familiar with with, correct? That coaching is joining the LSU staff. Yeah. What is his tit? I don't even know. Is he like one of the coordinates? I think he's the head Louisiana coordinator. Like he just coordinates the state around LSU. Yeah. Coach O, yeah, I mean they're both interesting guys for sure. I think I think one is an egotistical, like awful person, and then the other person is like is Louisiana personified. Like if you if you took the state of Louisiana and basically did what they did in the Avengers where they took an infinity stone and then made it a person, if you just said, hey, Louisiana, become a person, it becomes coach. Anyway, better coaching duo. I you know what? I have one for you. Oh, okay. Let's see. Manion Man and the Grizzler. I think I think they're gonna be better than them. Don't you think?
Stat BoyBut they don't have that yet. You know, you're projecting right now. Uh I'm sorry. I would love that.
SPEAKER_01I'm sorry. Has has Lane Kiffin and Coach O ever coached a football game together? That's true. But individually they were successful. Were we asked individual or were we asked for the best?
Stat BoyWhat was the question? Duo. D duo.
Dr. TATD-U-O. That's two. What's a group of duos? That's a pair. So I'm gonna say Mannion Man. Alright, here you go. This is what I'm gonna say right now. Mannion Man, this is my second may take. I get two now every year. May take twenty-six. Mannion man and the Grizzler will have a higher ranked offense than Coach Kiffin and Oh. Wow. Like higher ranked in terms of teams in the case. Yeah, within their within their league. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Okay, that's fair. But that's fair. Alright, good. All right. I think that's a good one. Yeah, I mean, what else does this actually I mean I'm like thinking through.
Stat BoyI think I think it has to be football. I mean, I'm thinking in the SEC, there's another very prominent one in recent memory. Think of another SE A duo? Duo. Do you know what he's talking about? I would say the combination of Nick Sabin and Kirby Smart.
Dr. TATBoy, that sounds very thoughtful and almost definitely correct, but I'm not going to agree with it. Okay, good don't later. No, you're right. That that actually would be probably the best SEC coaching duo of all time. But Manion Man and Grizzler will be better than them.
Stat BoyOh yeah. Me too. If you want to go to the Eagles route, we can talk Andy Reid and Jim Johnson. Jim Johnson. Yeah, I was thinking him. That that's a great duo.
Dr. TATI mean the two Super Bowl teams that the Eagles had, yeah. Steichen and Siriani really did blend well together. Yeah, but they lost. They won with Calvin Moore, right? So yeah. I mean, yeah. But Steichen, yeah, no, you're right. Steichen and they were very good. But my answer is I don't think Moore and I mean you had Frank Reich and Doug E. P. You know. Yeah, that was or Schwartz. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, Siriani and Fangio is pretty cool. You know, they were Syriani and Fangio. Yeah, it's a little or fangio and stout. It's a very heavy two. It's a very heavy pasta, you know, meal. It's a heavy meal, Siriani and Fangio. Fangious stout pretty cool. Yeah, I don't know.
Stat BoyIt's a good question, but I was thinking like all over the place.
Dr. TATYeah, I was I was thinking about it. Makes you think, right? Makes you think.
Stat BoyEspecially if you don't know the question beforehand. You have to think about it.
Dr. TATOnce Jawan Howard and Phil Martelli at Michigan were that's a nice one. But they're not that cool. Yeah. Not cool. Yeah.
SPEAKER_05But yeah, good question.
Stat BoyI mean, you also think of like the Cleveland Browns back in the day when they had Bill Belichick, they had Nick Saban on that team. Yeah. Like the coaching trees, right? You think of the teams that had coaching trees that like got really crazy. Like Holgren had Andy Reid on his coaching tree with John was on there. I mean, there's a they're just looking for duos, but there's teams that have like multiples. Like Bill Parcells had a lot of like coaching tree people that came out of that.
Dr. TATAnd let's offer this fan a little extra, you know, because they're asking many questions. I mean, wait, wasn't who was to Dan Campbell and the Bears coach, right? They were a duo. Campbell. I forget the Bears coach. He's cool.
Stat BoyYeah.
Dr. TATYeah, that was a pretty cool duo. I think the funniest duo this year is going to be Ben Johnson. Ben Johnson. Jim Harbaugh is going to be working with the his new offensive coordinator. That's a bit of an odd couple, you'd argue. Oh, yeah. Our brains are running out of gas. It's just dribble coming out of our Munkin, right? Todd Munkin was a good thing. No, he became the he became the Browns head coach.
Stat BoyIn Cleveland.
Dr. TATIt's what's his name? The guy with the he he hates the cold. John or Jim? Oh Jim.
SPEAKER_01In in LA, the Chargers.
Dr. TATIt's going to be Jim Harbaugh who wears khakis all the time with the guy Daniels.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
Dr. TATLike the nerd.
SPEAKER_01Mike's Princeton, right?
Stat BoyHe's he from Princeton. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01That's going to be a coaching duo. That'll be a disaster. Yeah. That's good disaster.
Dr. TATThat's like a weird duo.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that's what I said. Yeah. It's going to be the odd couple.
Dr. TATThe khaki king and then the Yeah, you got the guy who just wears khakis all the time, and the other guy wears like a Sherpa outfit and like gold sunglasses. Yeah. And then the Giants is John Harbaugh and Matt Nagy. Nagy, that's a pass. That's like a boring. He got fired by Andy Reid without Andy Reed actually saying you fired him. He's like, yep, Matt Nagy's going to find a new job. We love him, though.
Stat BoyAll right. So we'll move on to the second part of this multi-question fan. Yeah, God. This is like taking the SA. This kind of ties back to where Turtle was coming from with the World Cup. So given the great success of the live event format by the Clown Brothers, would Sid Hike be willing to send their talent to cover a World Cup game?
Dr. TATNo.
Stat BoyOkay.
Dr. TATYes.
Stat BoyNext, how much?
Dr. TATWe'll we'll find funds. Pizza Odyssey will send them. Pizza Odyssey's out of out of business because we kept sending people on their dime without them knowing. No, credit to the ice clowns for that that segment. That was great. We had great feedback. A lot of fans. Listen, if the ice clowns want to become the turf clowns, or or I guess rather the pitch clowns, if we're going to send them to what an adventure they're going.
SPEAKER_01I mean, in this economy, that that might that could be two-thirds of our butt annual budget just to get them to the parking lot.
Stat BoyBut you know what? It might build enough clout to put us over the edge here, right? A clout with who? We might expand into, I don't know, Antarctica or something. Do we want clout from the FIFA group?
Dr. TATFIFA is not we'll send you out there, clowns. Don't worry. We'll we'll find a way. All right.
Stat BoyIt's on Panda Dan's dime. We just have to find like a really crap game that's in Philadelphia and send you that one. We'll get them, we'll get them like the preseason version of a game.
Dr. TATYeah. Like we'll get them, you know. Otherwise, we'll send them to like a Wilmington Blue Rocks game or something.
Stat BoyI think that's yeah, we tell them they're going to a World Cup, but we send them to a totally different sport. Yeah, we World Cup. Just if they're not listening to our scheming right now. Yeah, this will work out great.
Dr. TATYeah. We'll be prepared when we negotiate with them. We'll we'll go with good. The official answer is no, but Panda Dam will talk to you later. Yeah.
Stat BoyAll right. So uh that that's the the two mailbag I think we're good for today.
Dr. TATI think we're good. Let's not cut our luck here because we're it's clearly the recording that you're listening to right now in no way had to be abridged, edited, or changed with sudden loss of power with our pod track. So yeah, we'll talk to the RD department for that. It's like heads will roll. Yeah, so we got yeah, a lot going on right now. You know, I'll just give it a little recap. Please I mean, yeah, Great Eagles talk. We have NBA playoffs, NHL playoffs. We have the French Open in tennis, which is pretty cool in Paris. We got the Phillies playing pretty well under Don Mattingley, Chris Sanchez has just set the record for scoreless innings. It's good you're recapping things we didn't talk about. It's perfect. He's just kind of grabbing, he's like a quick grab bag to say we acknowledge all the things. I know there's people that are so sad that this podcast is ending right now, and they're like, man, I I really wish they talked about one thing that I was listening for. So we're not mentioning. Let's see what else happened in sports over the last 12 minutes. Wembinama has a lot of points right now. Yeah, we might have a game seven. We'll see. That would be fun. I agree. But uh but yeah, and and next week, uh you know, when we early we're gonna welcome June to 2026. And we may have a very special guest, we hope. And we would be at the beginning of the podcast. Stay tuned. Stay tuned. Yeah. What an opportunity to enjoy time together may take. Staboy, do you have corrections before we go?
Stat BoyUh yeah, a little insights, not so much corrections. I think we're good throughout. But you know, we kind of start off the episode talking about the the animal piece, you know. Again, we need an animal expert. I don't know where we can find one, but we need an animal animal expert. Yeah, we'll try to find one. What's a group of animal experts? Hold on. I well, that's a great question. Well, let's well let's before we get to that, we need to figure out like how do we like what's the method here? So common ways that animals of groups are named three ways by behavior or trait, okay, by the sound they make, or by appearance. So by behavior and trait, you have a crash of rhinos. Okay.
Dr. TATYou have a s a memory of el elephants is another one for a memory of elph so so we're saying that elephants remember a lot that have very good tropes.
Stat BoyDoes anyone is that proven? Yeah, definitely.
Dr. TATThey're definitely I'm sorry. Just just to yeah, just to paint the picture, as Staboy's reading these great backs, he's wearing a beautiful Hawaiian shirt that has uh beautiful pink flamingos on it, and and his face with cool sunglasses. Yeah, just his head, a dismembered head, and and multiple of them in a pattern and with Philly's like kind of a Schwarber uh Bryce Harper.
Stat BoyYeah, it's Hawaiian shirt Thursday. I don't know where you guys are wearing yours, but yeah, it's a great Hawaiian shirt.
Dr. TATI'm just glad you're representing our government so very well. Yes, you take it very seriously, I could see.
Stat BoyYeah, yeah. And then uh so going into the next category by sound, so hyenas, a cackle, cackle hyenas, or a gaggle of geese. So is that what is that a term? Like they gaggle. I thought I thought geese honk. They they gaggle, they gaggle, it's a chaotic noise. Okay, and then by appearance, a group of giraffes is known as a tower of giraffes.
Dr. TATNow that's something I can get behind because I think of them stacking on top of each other, and boy, you'd have a tower after what, three giraffes? Yeah, and then butterflies are a kaleidoscope, which I think is kind of cool. That's pretty. Yeah, that's very nice.
Stat BoyThat it kind of like your shirt is a kaleidoscope. So this like steer us back a little bit back to the very beginning. So we we found out what the common ways names are called. So we talked about beta fish and all that and looked up what a group of beta fish were called. Well, actually, you know, there is no such thing for a group of male beta fish because a bunch of male beta fish fight. So it's only a group of female. Okay, and a female group of beta fish is called? Give me a guess. Is it behavior just sounds just give me a school? All right, it's gonna be a b blub blub blub blub of beta fish. No, that's not a sound.
Dr. TATThat's not a sound they make. These are big asses.
Stat BoyYeah, I don't know. Do you want to go with the appearance? What is it? What is a female beta group appearance? Ooh, a purple hue of beta fish.
Dr. TATA rose, a rose menagerie of beta fish.
Stat BoyNo, I'm gonna cut to the point here. They're called a sorority. Wow. I guess that what what what are we we're gonna say that is like a an appearance? Like a bunch of girls hanging out together, they're called a sorority, right? Yeah, like a bunch of females.
Dr. TATBut you know what? It's nice that they call it a sorority, so that we it it's like the beta fish experts were like, let's not even entertain the fact that any of them are male. Right. Yep.
Stat BoyThere you go. So that that was cool. Um, learning. I learned we still need an animal expert. I don't know where we could find an animal expert.
Dr. TATYeah, we'll see. Yeah, we'll look. I'll I'll try to find them. I'll I'll go to the zoo somewhere, my my weekly zoo visit. I'll ask for an animal expert. See if they have it'll be great.
Stat BoyMemorial day in 2027 is observed on Monday, May 31st. Okay. So with a very good. Yeah, remember, remember 31 May. We went through that a little bit. We're talking about the Northern Illinois University. You're talking about this quarterback that might have come out that was famous recently. Well, there's three quarterbacks of recent memory that came out of that university, none of which were good. Okay. One is Chandler Harnish. He was drafted by the Colts in the seventh round in 12, 2012. He was Mr. Irrelevant that year for them. Okay. Didn't really do anything, practice squad guy. The most successful guy, Jordan Lynch, that's who I'm thinking of.
Dr. TATIs who you're right. Yeah, he was a Heisman.
Stat BoyHeisman trophy finalist. He uh signed with the Bears, but he signed as an undrafted free agent. And he didn't sign for as a quarterback. He signed to play other positions. Oh, okay. All right. So he was not a bust then.
Dr. TATI I missed so he was a Heisman candidate that ended up just fizzling out.
Stat BoyHeisman quarterback, but not ever play that in the NFL. Went to a running back or safety. Okay. And then the last guy is Rocky Lombardi. He signed with the Bengals as an undrafted free agent in 2024.
Dr. TATThat sounds nice.
Stat BoyThat guy sounds like you should be on like a guy that you might want to keep an eye on. He should be on a stage show for like Sylvester Stallone's hockey, you know, eventually. And then to wrap up real quickly, we talked about like, you know, when's the last time we've won had an NFC winner in three consecutive more seasons? Well, it was less than a thousand years. It was the birds in what, oh two, oh three, four? And it was it was oh one to oh four. So it was four consecutive seasons. Boy. So we went one season beyond that. The knowledge you're like a a group of elephants.
Dr. TATWhat would you call a group of Andy Reeds, Dan? Walrus. Behavior. Walruses.
SPEAKER_01Walruses of Andy Reeds.
Dr. TATThe menu. The menu of Andy Reeds. I think it would be, yeah. I think it would be a pancake house. I think it would be Andy Reeds. I would be like a gallon of chocolate milk of Andy Reid. Yeah. Yeah. Walruses of Andy Reed. That's what I'm going to call it. He's got the great face for that. That's what I'm going to call it. Yeah, he's got a face for audio. Yeah, yeah. We love Andy.
Stat BoyShout out to uh Andy Reid's Hawaiian shirts as well. Yeah.
Dr. TATFantastic. I'll tell you, he'd be jealous of yours, brother. Yeah, good. Glad. Thank you, Staff Boy. And let me tell you that as we wind down the month of May and we enter one of I would say a top 12 month, June, for sure. Top ten, maybe. Top ten. Top ten. And while the weather is warm and the lights are shining, I can't think of a better I don't know what I'd call this group. I a set hike of podcasters to talk with and enjoy time with. Yeah, it's just a glorious time. The flowers are bloomed, the air is crisp, and set hike voices are ringing the room, you know. And and while our technology may be actively trying to fail us, we hold steadfast. We're resilient. We're resilient. We're fighting hard. And we're gonna give you everything we got. That's right, Panda Dan. Yeah, because that's how we know we know our listeners do that, so we owe it to them. Yeah, yeah. And for the Seth podcast, I'm your host, Dr. Tat. And I'm Panda Dan. Step Boy. Number one NFL offensive backfield, 25th episode. 26 times two. Go birds, go not the Knicks. Next week it's our Save Bond episode. It's our Chase Udley episode. Oh, yeah. Good luck and God speed.
Stat BoyWhoops to you.
