Set Hike!
Duck, Duck, Duck...Joke!
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Set Hike! starts off with a BANG, celebrating its **inaugural** 31st episode by immediately setting what experts are calling the fastest statistical correction in sports-comedy podcast history, naturally segueing into compelling prime numbers talk, knuckle-based calendars, seasonal punching fists, Atlantic City bachelor-party archaeology, and a shockingly serious investigation into whether anyone has ever willingly bet roulette number 31. As Philadelphia transforms into LeBron City, Panda Dan delivers possibly the least enthusiastic superstar welcome in sports-comedy podcast history, Eagles training camp is here (rejoice!), and Stat Boy explores the financial mechanics of being mummified in your own life savings. But the true star is MC and The Sauce, a Chester County beer-league hockey operation built on pizza branding, A.I. (i.e., Antonio Intelligence) analytics, a whopping 16.7% power play, and the revolutionary draft strategy of selecting every guy who has previously injured you. By the end, the crew has debated Italian pasta sauces, sounds-off on LeBron's helicopter commute, famous babies, Hands on a Hard Body, a 13th month named “Secon-dary,” and produced what Dr. TAT himself concedes may be “one of the worst duck joke podcasts we've ever had.”

Welcome everyone to the thirty-first episode of the Seth podcast. I'm your host, Dr. Tat, and with me, as always, is Panda Dan. It's Tat Boy.
Stat BoyNumber 31. Can I make any correction already? Please. Isn't it the inaugural 31st episode?
Dr. TATYeah. You know what? I am just still not 100% on the ball here, huh? All right. We'll edit it in. Let's edit this out here. All right, we'll skip the set hike part. All right, ready? We finished the set hike or we finished the sets. Okay. Welcome everyone to the 31st inaugural episode of the Seth Podcast. I'm still your host, Dr. Tad, and with me still at this juncture is I'm still Panda Dan. I'm still Stat Boy. And we're correction free folks. We are headed at Stat Boy. I mean it was huge. That's why he's the best in the business. So we ended with a missed correction and we start with a missed and uh an appropriate correction. This is the 31st episode. Now, 31 is a number I want to visit briefly. Give me some general thoughts on the number 31. When I say 31, what comes to your head, Dan? You know, it's weird that I mean this is going to be so obscure, but Raymond, you said 31. I was I guess I I immediately got a sports players, specifically Philadelphia sports players. And I think Al Harris was 31. Philadelphia. That would be a good thing to look up. Al Harris was an interesting player. Yeah. Now, when I think of the number 31, well, you know what? Let me ask our statistician. He actually spent, he did part of his sum of Springer. He he just studied numbers. And did 31 come up during your conferences?
Stat BoyNo, we we don't really enjoy 30 number 31 as much. I mean, there are some famous braves on the list here from like Greg Maddox, so we don't really you don't want to talk about the Braves at conferences.
Dr. TATIt's a prime number, so that means that it's only divisible by itself in one. And I'm fairly certain on that, you know. I'll double check that. Now why, why is can I just ask a question? You sure can, of course. Like, why do some of the months have 31 days, some have 30, and then February obviously has either 28 or 29. Well, it's a great question, Dan, and I uh for sure have no answer to that. That would be anything but made up. But generally speaking, I'm fairly certain the way it works is that you know the Earth actually technically it takes 365 and a quarter days, if a day is 24 hours, to revolve around the sun. And so every four years you have the leap year. There had been debate about changing the number of months so that you had an equal amount of months. So if you did right, so right now it's 365 days. If you wanted to make it more straightforward, you would have to do either you would do an extra month and you would change you would go lower, like have everyone do like 1329 day months, or you could do 14 28 day months and just make it completely straightforward and you would get closer to that number. Yeah. There's been debate on that. Yeah, I I'd better just keep it the same. I I like how February is like shorter than all the others, like it's just like I well, it's it's a precious gem. Now, yeah, it's interesting. Like I find that the 31st day of certain months, it's kind of nice. Like July having that little extra day. It seems like a good month to have an extra day. Off the top of the dome, can you name all the other 31s? Well, let me think July, October, December, January, March. March is Yeah, it is 31 in March. Correct. And May and July. That's it. I'm pretty sure that's it.
Stat BoyIs that right? Yeah, I mean, there's also a method to this.
Dr. TATUh you don't have to be like a path September, April, June, and November. There we go. The rest are 31 except February, which is the best.
Stat BoyI've also got the knuckle method, if you're familiar with that. The knuckle method. Yes. You make two fish, you put them together side by side, you start from the far left pinky, and then you go each knuckle from January going forward. The bumps, knuckles between them is 31 days, or every knuckle is a 31 day month, and then every space between that is a 30-day month minus the February month, which obviously is not that.
Dr. TATWow. This is the weirdest. Where did you guys learn this ever? So right now. You didn't do that. I mean, it's an audio format, folks, but right now I have both of my fists next to each other, and I'm just staring at them and I'm confused. I don't understand. You're saying the space in between the knuckles is 30 days?
Stat Boy30-day month, and you start with the pinky knuckle. So that's January is your 31st month, or your 31 days in January, and then February's less than 30, so it's the valley between the two knuckles. That's your 30. Then March has 31 days, that's the third knuckle or the second knuckle. And April, May's 31 is the other knuckle. So that when you have your two fists coming together, you have two knuckles side by side. That's the two months that end up having back to back 31 days.
Dr. TATSo if I punch a dude in the face with my right fist, they're getting let's see, January, February, March, April, May, June, July. So they're getting August, September, October, November, December, and January. And then what's the the pinky knuckle is just kind of a floater?
Stat BoyYeah, it's just one of those.
Dr. TATSo they're getting like August to December right to the face. Just a taste of you know, a couple 30s, a couple 31s. Yeah, that's like that's full, that's like primetime fall. That's a fall fist. That's a fall fist. And this is the winter fist. So you got a winter fist and a fall fist, essentially. And the summer goes like kind of in between. They get a little bit of each, yeah. I also think about 31 on I I don't know about you guys, but every episode I've been thinking to myself about a roulette wheel and board, right? Of course, yes. And Dan, you're our resident degenerate gambler, right? You're the one who spends probably, I don't know, what what do we think? Hundreds of thousands of dollars a year on bets. Now you're you're in the futures market, right? You're a you you're a sports gambler, you'd say, or more like live events. Have you dabbled in a roulette type of game, like a casino table game? Yeah, I dabbled. I I don't usually do that on the reg. Usually if I'm at like uh weekend at Atlantic City or Vegas, I'll like play like Jack, Blackjack or Blackjack. Yeah. Or roulette. No, probably more so roulette, like you said. I I used to play Craps. Is that craps, right? Uh Craps is one of the table games. It's a fantastic game. I think actually at Dr. Tat's Bachelor Party way back in the day, I played. Well, that was actually great. We because we actually we had a live poker tournament at in Atlantic City. We did? I guess that was either at Harris or Borgata, I forget where. Yeah, yeah. But uh I think it was a Borgata. It was awesome. Like we had like dealers that were hired to just do it. And we had multiple tables, and your some of your uncles were there and stuff, and your dad, and that was a lot of fun.
Stat BoyWe also went to the pool after dark, right?
Dr. TATYeah, Harris Pool after dark. That was yeah, we had a squirrel. We had a squirrel mask, or someone was wearing a squirrel. Uh the Jersey squirrel, yeah. And and one of the establishes establishments we went to it no longer exists, I believe. Uh yeah. We also went there. It burned down. Of course. But you know, when when you think about those type of places, and we won't go into details, but when those type of places burn down, I mean the first thing you're thinking is arson, right? I mean, the owner's just trying to clearly the owner's behind on all of the payments, and he's got to you know commit insurance fraud. Of course. Yeah, but it's a shout out to Schultz. Yeah, that's an all-timer. Boy, I hope there's a burst in we went to Angelo's for dinner. Remember that nice Italian restaurant? Oh, yeah. That's like a classic. Well, it's funny you should say that because that just this past weekend, Mrs. Tat and I, we were down in the Jersey Shore, and we decided to get Angelo's takeout. It was delicious. Oh, yeah, yeah.
Stat BoySo that placed it in Birddown.
Dr. TATNo, no, that's what they're they're holding up pretty well. It's it's a pretty good place. Yeah, and did you know do you know the nickname of Atlantic City Panda? I mean, I call it AC sometimes, but that's yeah, it sounds like that's a good thing. Yeah, that's it that's an acronym. Yeah. No, I don't know. I mean, it's called Ducktown. What it's called Ducktown, and I would love for you to figure that out. And then the other fun fact that I'm gonna spoil for Statboy is that Atlan Monopoly is based on Atlantic City streets. So every time you go in in Ducktown and you're on those streets, you're actually playing a game of Monopolies. Really? Wait, why is it called Ducktown? Like Statboy will look that up. No, it'll be something we'll look up. Yeah, but I the reason I bring up a roulette wheel. I do have one more question about AC. Um me and my brother sometimes talk about this. There's a good there's a famous like Hoagie. Well, it's a sub place. Uh White House. Yeah, White House subs. I love it there. I've never been. Yeah, we we always say we gotta we gotta go there sometimes. So we might go this summer, like later in this month, actually. It's a great point because it famously, I think the last and another thing for Staff Boy to look up, probably the last five or six presidents of the United States have frequented that Hoagie shop and they have pictures of them. So, you know, for sure Clinton. I think I think the Republicans too. So like I think Clinton Bush, Obama, I don't know if Joey B did. So I'm almost it's almost definite Trump. Like, you know, I mean he had he had the casino back then. Yeah. Yeah, I heard it's great. I think I had like an uncle that used to get away.
Stat BoyA bipartisan sub shop. This is fantastic.
Dr. TATIt is bipartisan, and it's called White House Subs. Right. You know, we are just I mean, we are a pizza odyssey sponsored podcast, but I think we're throwing throwing out free money everywhere, you know? Yeah. Well, we got plenty of it. Yeah, boardman, Oregon, man. Just take it in, brother. Yeah, because this is this is the thing. So welcome to our Tokyo Japan listener, too. We had that this past week. Uh Kenichiwa. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, that's great. Yeah, add it to the list. Definitely not a bot. Definitely not. Definitely probably not a bot.
Stat BoyNo, I mean it just listened to it at like three in the three in the morning, their time, I think. Oh nice.
Dr. TATJust a sed hike listener, you know? Yeah. We'll have to figure out how to say said hike in Japanese. I would love to learn that. Yeah, that would be great. Do you have any guess what said hike in Japanese is? No. I don't know. I don't know. I'd love to know. I feel like if I try to say it, it will sound very, you know, racist. I think, yeah, it might be the R word, yeah. But something worth looking up as well. So once again, 31. A roulette table, right? When you play the game of roulette, are you guys familiar? Yes. Yeah. Okay. When you play the game of roulette, you can play inside or outside. And if you play inside, you play numbers. And so you can put the money on the number, you get 35 to 1 odds, right? They kind of throw you off because of the zero and double zero puts it in the house favor. It's like the biggest complete game of chance. Yeah. That being said, I can tell you definitively, I have never gambled on the number 31 ever in my life. Yeah, I don't think so. I'm pretty sure it's I'm gonna guess right now, but just looking in my head, I'm just like mentally picturing it's gonna be 31 is probably a red number, I'm gonna guess. I was gonna say black. Is it red or black? There's an entourage episode where the Vegas episode, Scott, our listener always enjoyed it. And yeah, they they always say like they put their money on black and real editing. 31 is black. Oh, Dan, you got me. So, but what I used to do was I would always play the Lost numbers. So are you familiar with the TV show Lost? Yes. So the TV show Lost had famous numbers that one of the characters, Hurley, would play, and he won like a hundred, like a billion dollars or something, like a Powerball. The numbers were four, eight, fifteen, sixteen, twenty-three, and forty-two. All of which coincide with what stat boy, do you know? As a baseball fan. Think baseball. Yeah. Retired Yankees number. So they're all yeah, exactly. But there's no 42 on the roulette wheel, so I used to just put them on two. So that was kind of the way I did it. And what I realized is if you look at a roulette wheel and you look at those numbers, you end up with like almost like the spokes of a bicycle. So it actually is pretty good numbers to play. Yeah. Do you know what I mean? Yeah, yeah. Like it's it's separated all around. Oh, okay. This sounds like it's a conspiracy. I would love to that's awesome. I would love to own a roulette wheel. I think that's gonna be one of those. So that's your favorite table game at a casino? Yeah. Rulette. When I'm like much older, right now, you know, somewhere in the range of 20 and 45. Yeah. When I'm like in the range of 50 to 75, I think one of like the odd why are you purchasing it purchasing this thing is gonna be a full roulette wheel for my house. Yeah. And I think it would just be fun. I wouldn't gamble like any money, I just would see who's right and who's wrong. Yeah, no, that sounds like a good hobby. I'm sure your family would be proud of it. Do you think that'll be fun? Very, very proud. Do you think that would be very crazy? Yeah, uh, yeah. I mean, you know, they would just be happy. If it brings you joy, they would just be like, well, what's the upkeep on a roulette table? Do you think you gotta oil it? Yeah, I think so, right?
Stat BoyBecause the spinning, like the way they keep it spinning so well. Yeah, you also need to like prop a table up somewhat so you can have it planned on the same number, you know. You know, cheating. You gotta cheat the boat. You gotta cheat the board.
Dr. TATYeah, uh, boy is just starting to wake at me. I got I got really uncomfortable. So yeah, 31. Yeah, but what I was saying, I was like, so we were at the bastard party, right? No, this would have been great. And Slomo, I think we exited the who won that tournament, you know? Actually, that was you tied, right? Stat boy tied with my uh with my with it.
Stat BoyYeah, we went to the final two, and we're like, do we really want to spend like an hour or two hours playing this out where we could just like split it and Mrs.
Dr. TATTat Dad tied with Statboy? Okay, and we probably had like 15 people or so, right? It was a good tournament, yeah. I think Schultz he actually like went all in the first hand, and then someone had like pocket Ace as a match, yeah. He like went out. He was, I think he was that sounds about right. He just didn't think anyone and then he just went on his way. I think that was outstanding. But yeah, Slomo and I went and played craps after, and uh something happened. Yeah, I remember like I spilled a drink or something on the table. It was like does it has to? Slomo thought it was like the funniest thing in the world. It was funny. Uh oh good because they were like all the everyone was like having a good time and it like totally disrupted like the whole thing. It was it was the best time I I barely remember. So yeah, that's excellent. It was fun. So uh let's talk. What do we talk about? Sports? Yeah, it was a pretty big week. What happened exactly? I guess we nailed it, right? There's a guy who joined the Sixers. What's his name? Yeah, LeBron, LeBron James. LeBron James. LeBron James? LeBron James is a 76er. Wait, what? Wow. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, LeBron's on a Friday. It kind of came out of nowhere.
Stat BoyWait, we we already knew that was gonna happen, right?
Dr. TATWe all predicted that. Yeah, I think. I mean, if you listen to our past episodes, we were all right on parties. I think we all were honed in on Philadelphia, right? I don't think we said any other city. Certainly not Cleveland, Golden State, or Miami. That's probably why we act, we're acting very unsurprised by this. I find it rather pedantic as well. And shallow. Yeah. What do you think? Yeah, what's your response? How do you feel? Are you excited, sad, mad, glad? Yeah, I have like mixed emotions, I would say. Interesting. So mixed. So I first of all, I don't I'm honored that LeBron chose Philadelphia. I mean, he he really could have gone to I know those were the four teams they were saying Miami, Cleveland, Golden State. But with that the contract that he signed, I mean, he really could have gone anywhere. Like it wasn't a money situation. So he could have gone to OKC.
Stat BoyI mean, one of those facts is that the guy we drafted this year, the first round pick, is making more this year in his salary than LePon is making in his yeah. So the guy that we just got out of college is making more than the and his name, what is his first name?
Dr. TATIt's like LeBaron or something. Yeah, it's kind of similar. Yeah, but then it kind of sounds like Philby, his last he looks good in summer league, that guy. Let's just talk about him. I mean, who cares about the ones? No, I was good. But let's that's the first response was honor. Like you felt yeah. I mean, I have a lot of respect for LeBron James. Like he's he's had uh because I you know I've talked to people like uh about him the past week a lot, and you know, never had any issues in his career as far as like just seems like a great guy, you know, great family guy. Honored that he chose Philadelphia, like that, you know, it's great for the city, it's great for the fans. Where's the butt? Yeah, I feel like I feel like a butt. Where's the butt? Where's the butt? So very excited. Where's the butt? I mean, I was like pre-Lebron coming, I was very excited about so I was very frustrated. Let's just rewind it a little. I was extremely frustrated back in May when we lost to the Nick, we got swept by the Knicks. I mean, we had no bench. Yeah, very frustrated. And then we built the bench when Mike Gansy came in. We added some good bench pieces. When we got Jalen Brown, I was like very excited because I was like, you know, we we're a contender. I you even asked, I remember we said I said with or without LeBron, we were a finals contender. Okay. With LeBron, so then LeBron's coming in. Very excited, you know, it's exciting. I yeah, I I just I I I'm like my more of my excitement is more about the development of Maxi, Edgecombe. I love Joel Embiid, like I've followed his whole career. I think Jaden Brown's the best player on the team, and he he can lead Philly, you know, be a Philadelphia hero leading us to the finals. And then yeah, for me, like it's it's cool. LeBron has stole the concern is that LeBron, it's all going to, and it already sort of is, like, it's all gonna revolve around LeBron and can LeBron win another finals, not the Sixers. And yeah, I I'm just a little worried about that. And again, honored that he's here. I mean, he hasn't, he's 41 years old, he'll be 42. He hasn't won a final since 2020, I believe. Yeah, the bubble final, yeah, yeah, with the Lakers. So I mean, I'm not I don't think this is like a sure thing that he's just gonna win, like he hasn't won in a while, but but you know, it's it's very exciting.
Stat BoyBut but he's gonna be the facilitator on the offense. It sounds like they're putting him at point guard, which is something that Maxie isn't the strongest at, nor do we have Ezcom as one or Jalen Brown. Like they all can kind of handle the ball, but they're not like pure point guards. LeBron seems to be that fit for this team. But yeah, you're right. The guy that is gonna be the facilitator now has come in and just essentially taking all this thunder away from all the younger kids. And I think a lot of people are saying that like Vijay Edgecombe is gonna be the loser of this whole situation because he's the guy that's supposed to be developing this year to a higher level that to hit his next contract, and he's gonna be the fifth option on the offense.
Dr. TATYeah, he's gonna be he might some are saying to come on the off the bench, like that he could be the spark of that second team, which yeah. I mean, I I would feel bad for him. He was an awesome rookie, you know. But so yeah, what do you think, Dr. Tap? Just read the points by Staboy there. You know, for me, this podcast, Panda, is me reacting to you. You're the star of the podcast. We all know that you hate the signing. I can I know you long enough that you do not like I mean that was the most negative Panda Dan ever gets on a signing to Philadelphia. I mean, we I think I also this is true. I stay true to my word. Like we discussed this via text before the trade before it happened, and I think we agreed on what we said. I don't know if we want to share, but you feel stifled. I I feel like you think that he's gonna take all the air out of the room and it becomes like you said very eloquently, and I don't disagree with you at all, Panda. It's becoming a LeBron show and not about the Sixers. Whereas when you pick up Jalen Brown, it still was like, hey, Jalen's gonna join the Sixers. Now it feels like the Sixers join LeBron. Is that is that how you feel? Yeah, yeah. Yeah, and all the LeBron fans are like flocking to the Sixers, and it's just like a weird, it's it's almost like you're getting Dream Team vibe to Swift. Is that what you're worried about? Is this Dream Team 2.0? Is this the now that's the city? He's young. Yeah, that's a good idea. I'm still trying to wrap my head around that that he'll live in New York, take the helicopter. I know Slay are a great listener and guest sleigh. Yeah, Slay makes that can be sounded off, but he's basically doing the sleigh, like going between the sleigh going on a sleigh ride. I mean, Slay is one of the greatest of all time, and she comes to Philly from New York. Or she does the opposite. Sorry. So she and LeBron can just cross paths. Right, but she's not flying, she's training. She trains, yeah. She trains the train, he's they do the helicopter. Oh, he's gonna take the chopper. Yeah, yeah. Does LeBron have his own helicopter? Probably. Or do you rent so much? Can you rent a helicopter for a year?
Stat BoyI think I'd read that it's like three thousand dollars for the trip for one way, so it's like eight grand ish, and you include gas. I mean, the Sixers are here to do that too. He's taking eight grand every dime he goes to practice to Philly. Yeah. And it's about a 45-minute flight. It's kind of nice. Have you ever been in a helicopter, Dan? I never have, no.
Dr. TATNo, me neither.
Stat BoyI'm getting Kobe vibes. I don't want to spell that. But that scares the shit out of him. I mean, now I thought of that too. Like, he's doing what Kobe did when he was with the Lakers.
Dr. TATYeah.
Stat BoyHave you been in a chopper ever or something? Uh can't say if I have or haven't.
Dr. TATYeah. Uh huh. Okay, that's interesting. He's not allowed to say if he's ever been in a chopper, which probably means he's get to the chopper. Oh, it's my favorite. Get to the chopper. Get to the chopper. So yeah, I mean Yeah. I mean, I know like I'm sorry, damn, we ruined everything. But we won't call right now, but just so everyone knows, I mean, we do have a LeBron expert. Yeah, we we actually have checking in.
Stat BoyI checked in a couple of yeah.
Dr. TATA lot of our listeners, like our took. I mean, Scott's been a loyal LeBron listener. I like how you put those three together. That's a crazy thing. They're all the same boat. Yeah. It's very exciting. We have we have a lot of LeBron fans listening. Yeah. It's it's a historic signing. It's great for the city. I mean, like, we're, you know, I was even thinking that. Like, just for I mean, it probably will have a great effect on the economy of the city, like just houses and restaurants. Like, this is LeBron City now. So what jersey are you going to buy? You won't buy a LeBron James jersey. It's on the. Are you buying a brown jersey? I would probably buy like either a bead or edge cone. So you're you're a Sixers loyalist. Like you believe in kind of the you you feel like this is a slap in the face to the process. Yeah, for sure. I mean, it this wasn't the way the process was supposed to be. It's a process is all homegrown. Yeah. This is non-processed. It's like the opposite of food, right? Processed food is bad. Non-processed signings are bad, is what you're talking about. Had Sam Hinky played out the process, I know Stephen might disagree, but yeah, we would have had multiple championships here already. Do you think Sam Hankey, how does he feel about this the current six months rock? It's just like he had this like grand blueprint, and now it just became like a circus and he doesn't know what the hell is going on. Hinky just loved just getting draft picks. That's what he's doing. I feel like I totally agree. I feel like Hankey never he was like the dog chasing the car. If he ever actually got a championship-winning roster, he'd be he'd catch the car and be like, what now?
Stat BoyActually, I don't really think much about Hinky right now. I'm thinking more about Maury because you look at how Gansy comes in his first season and already we have Vebron.
Dr. TATYeah, Jalen Brown, dude. Brought an elite you'd summer. And we got a bench. Just like that.
Stat BoyThat's very important. And this is uh modern day NBA. We got a bench. And Maury, Maury was all about star hunting. You know, we get all the stars when he leaves. Just think that's kind of funny.
Dr. TATYeah. So now I I love the gamble, right? Like we we talked about, but the the Knicks are still the favorite out of the East, slight favorite to the defending chant, right?
Stat BoyIt's kind of like you gotta give that to them this year at least. We're gonna smoke them.
Dr. TATI assume they still I think I mean I'm I'm ready to You better watch out. You might owe somebody another pair of Knickerbockers. I I think that's true, but he's never shown up. Do you think, yeah, like do you think LeBron's still like like people don't like you almost would think LeBron's like 34 or something the way people like do you think he's still I mean I know he played great last year, but do you guys worry about his age at all? Or do you think he's just like no? I don't I don't worry about his age because I think he's still one of the most elite athletes, and I'm sure he put a lot of money into his body. He reminds me of Saquon in that sense. Like I'm sure he's paying you know 100k for that. I he said he puts a million dollars in his body every year. Yeah, I'm ready. I I'm ready to hop on the bandwagon and I'm ready to just go all in with LBJ. I'm in. I'm 100% in. Yeah, yeah, I love it.
Stat BoyFor me, I think to win a championship, it it's really hard to do it your first year with a new team. There's a lot of chemistry things that need to happen. And we all know that the age of LeBron and the age of Embiid are at the stage where you're not going to be playing a ton of regular season games. Like you'll play the regular season, you might miss the back-to-backs, you might miss some long broad trips, which is causing the team not to play as together as much. And then when you kind of saw it in the playoffs last year, like when Enbi came back, the team was clunky, they didn't know how to play with them right. They were they were still trying to fill it out. So is the is this superstar five gonna be able to play enough in the regular season to get on the same page to then effectively win in the playoffs as a team? Because that's where you have to play ball games together.
Dr. TATPlayoffs is a different beast in NBA.
Stat BoyA lot of people are saying they think they're just gonna shut down all these guys like LeBron and MB most of the year. Uh not most of it, but good chunk of it, just so they're healthy enough for that year.
Dr. TATAnd then also just like personality and ego, like, well, that like how's that gonna play out? I mean, oh I mean, Jalen Brown wanted to go to a team to beat alpha, and he's literally like and Jalen Brown didn't he called this is kind of funny, but he called LeBron, he called Bronny like he's like he's not a pro player, right? But like he called him trash basically. And uh it was like on a sideline. And then LeBron was yeah, like I think it was private, but they picked it up and then and then LeBron publicly said, like, I don't he said something like I don't like that he said that or something.
Stat BoyYeah, do you think there's gonna be a massive like in-house fight between these guys like at some point in the season? Do you think everyone's just gonna explode on each other? I mean, like even if egos are just gonna go on each other, like yeah, I don't.
Dr. TATI mean, even Max, he has become, you know, he was kind of the face of the so like there's gotta be some egos that play. Like I mean, these guys dedicate their whole life to basketball. Like, they all want to be the guy. I sort of think even like I heard WIP had a good conversation. They were like, who will be the I mean WIP's like been talking about the you turn it on, they talk about all day long. I mean, Eagles training camp started today, which we'll talk about.
Stat Boy97.5 the fanatic change her name to 97.5 the LeBron.
Dr. TATNo, but one thing they were saying was who would be the last to be announced at the game, like in the player intros. In basketball, that's kind of a big deal. And you know, one guy was saying it's gotta be LeBron, but but yeah, I don't know. Like, you know, I mean I think it's gotta either be LeBron or or Enbi, probably, you know. But if it's LeBron, I would I would be like, all right, that's gotta run. They're all gonna get announced last because NB's not gonna play. Or they get off. LeBron's not gonna play games.
Stat BoyThey're all gonna get a chance to be that guy. I think the bigger question here is you know, we look at LeBron's legacy, right? You look at his two championships, one in Miami, his two championships, one in Cleveland, one is one of the things. One in LA, yeah. And one in LA. So this would be his fourth, right? So what would be his fifth, yeah. Fifth. Yeah, yeah. Fourth team. You've got another number convention coming up. What I'm trying to get at here, though, is if LeBron wins two championships with the Sixers, yeah. I mean, does he retire as a Sixer? Yes. I would also probably as Cleveland.
Dr. TATI would like to congratulate. He wins two. I mean, in his final year, and he breaks all the records.
Stat BoyHe'll be a retired sixer in the Hall of Fame. Yeah.
Dr. TATI think so. That's the challenge. I mean, I he it's a ballsy move. Like, if he brings like that's you know, LeBron, welcome to Philly. You gotta bring a championship to Philly. I would like to congratulate the 2027 NBA championship winning Philadelphia 76. All right, I think it's a la. I mean well done. I've already bought my tickets for the uh the parade. Yeah, yeah, they're already selling. I'm I already bought them. Yeah, I'm I'm in 100%.
Stat BoyThis is exactly how every sixer season starts. Everyone gets so excited.
Dr. TATDude, the vibes are every and high. I mean, luckily we have a LeBron expert. I think he said about two minutes, like a two-minute warning. Uh two minute warning? All right, we got him in the cubby here already. He's in the bullpen. Um, so yeah, I let's just let's put a bow in it and say that you hate the signing, you are anti-Lebron. I said next to it. I'm ready to enjoy a championship, and you're hoping that they fail. That's I think the take home, right, Statboy?
Stat BoyDan, yes.
Dr. TATDan hates it. He feels betrayed by his former employer, and he doesn't think it that this is an anti-process situation. No, I'm very I'm more excited about like I'm very excited about Jalen Brown, Edgecone, Maxie, and B. You hate LeBron. It's okay. Whether it was LeBron or whoever that fifth was, you know. To me, he's just like whoever that's LeBron. Don't forget LeBron. Yeah, what about LeBron? That was LeBron LeBron. He's filling that boy at the fifth, you know. Okay. Is LeBron French? LeBron is a it means French for LeBron. LeBron. I was thinking about that too. Like, are there many, like like you would think I mentioned this the other day to someone like like you would think a lot of kids, like a lot of parents would name their kids either LeBron or or Kobe. And like I like obviously Michael Jordan, like but Michael, like a lot of people name him Michael, you know. But like I don't meet you don't see many like young players named LeBron or Kobe, you know. Yeah, I think it's I think it's because it's like iconic, right? There's not that many shares, there are not many Madonnas. There's certain like one name names that are almost like Saquon. I feel like there was a lot of chases. Yeah, no, like they were people went on. I love Hudley, right? Well, that's just there's a lot of curses, gold, bright. Hudley was just getting around, you know. It had nothing to do with that other than that. He just names every first child he has with whomever is a chase, girl or boy. All right. I think we should try to call our expert. Yeah. Hudley. A lot of our listeners will probably know this person, but they're gonna be a little excited, you know, surprised and excited to have him on. Oh, okay. What are we gonna talk about? He's a LeBron expert. Well, he also has a hockey league. That's what we were originally gonna talk about. So he has the league, but he's talking about LeBron? Yeah, he has a hot he's a hockey player, and he used to go to the eronomic pool. And he thinks I think he went to the same high school as Doc Let. Oh went right to voicemail. Well, this LeBron expert, probably, you know what? Let me try it again. Honestly, Panda, you might have offended him because all you did was say how much you think LeBron. Yeah, I think so. All right. Well, I what I would say is then we should move on to our next topic and see if we get a hold of uh he's a busy man, but well, we'll I think I'm confident we'll get we'll get him back. We'll edit it all this out. Yeah, should we? So let's move into another future 2027 championship team, which are the Philadelphia Eagles. The training camp started today. Yeah, so they showed up to training camp yesterday, so on Tuesday, and they they had their first practice today. I don't I don't think there were pads, but and they had a whole round of press conferences today. It was pretty entertaining. You could catch it on the Eagles YouTube channel, probably about over an hour of content at press conferences, which is cool. One thing I immediately noticed was Sirianni and Howie Roseman spoke first, and they both had were wearing sunglasses. They almost reminded me of like the blues brothers, they were just up there like what kind of sunglasses, both like black sunglasses, yeah. Yeah, they definitely like planned it. They're like a funny duo, Howie and Siriani. They're kind of like they try to be funny up there. But so what what are your take-homes from today? Yeah, so a lot of the play, yeah. I mean, there wasn't anything like groundbreaking. A lot of the players spoke Lane, Saquon, Jalen Hurts, Jalen Carter. So Jalen Carter got his big contract this week. So highest paid defensive tackle in NFL history. Is he the best highest paid Jalen currently in the NFL or is that Jalen Hurts still? I mean, I was looking at I was just curious. I was like, how does Jalen Carter's contract compare to the rest of the Eagles? And like Hurts has the highest contract, and then Jalen Carter has the second. So the two Jalen get paid the two highest. I mean, we're a Jalen podcast, and we uh we respect and understand these JA names doing well. Yeah, yeah. But yeah, that's high that's good for Jalen Carter. I mean, I know you know he's had a little bit of controversy over his career, but I love Jalen Carter. He's he's been a good you know, I watched all his like interviews, he's a good guy. You know, he seems like a good guy. He earned the contract, right? Great player. Right. You you paid you paid Jordan, you're gonna pay Jalen, right? Yeah. I mean, I think what a great story. I mean, they played at Georgia together on that D-line. Yeah, to have them locked up here in Philadelphia. I mean, it uh I think it's the greatest, you know, it's right up there with like Reggie White and Jerome Brown and Clyde Simmons and those guys, those legends. Like they they have all the makings to be Eagles defensive line legends. This could be one of the best Eagles defenses, at least on paper going into the year. Uh, I agree. It's like you're talking about gangrene defense, you're like at that level, um, which is pretty exciting. Yeah, yeah. So I would say that well, here's a question for you. Was Makai Lemon participating? Yeah, so Makai, yeah, he participated. Yeah, Jaden Hurts. They asked Jaden Hurts about Makai too. He he said like he has great heart, great like passion. He was nursing a hammy, right? Yeah, yeah. Yeah, sorry, our RD department's here too. They're trying to get our collar on, but that's it. I didn't even I've never actually met these people in person. I don't know. Just don't bother them. They're at work. Okay, get out of here. But yeah, Makkay, I mean, yeah, we'll see. I mean, you know, I think he's gonna got I don't think he's just gonna come in and be a complete stud. Like he has to develop and everything too. But very exciting, yeah. Um all the all the top guys talking. It got me like totally rejuvenated. Like I there's just something about listening to Lane Johnson and Zach Bond and Saquon. And yeah. I mean, you even said, I don't know if you l I thought you might have listened today, but you said you said LeBron sort of like Saquon that he put so much money into his body and all that. Like that's something Saquon mentioned. Like he admitted he was like, I put a lot of money, you know, like I spent a lot. You gotta spend it somehow, right? Yeah, yeah. So Saquon's can you can't get buried with it, right? I mean you can if you want.
Stat BoyYeah, I guess you can.
Dr. TATYeah, like a pharaoh or something. Yeah, yeah.
Stat BoyJoy Rather like paper mache you in a bunch of dollar bills or something. Sure. Whoa. Yeah, if you want. Wait, I could do that? You could do whatever you want. I think I might do that. I'm gonna have to tell my wife. Okay. That's gonna be my I think it'll be my way. Yeah, just tell Stack Rome. Yeah. You would you would be mummifying in all our life savings. Mummify in life savings. Yeah, just wrap me on all my money that I've earned. Well, you know, dollars are made out of cotton, so you could actually it's a good fabric. Yeah, like just paper machin you though, like just layer upon layer. Yeah. No, I mean you can do whatever you want. You can do whatever you want. Thanks, guys.
Dr. TATIt's your job, it's your money. I appreciate the support. Yeah, I mean, the question is how much how much paper do you need to cover your body? I don't know. How tall are you? Like 5'2? Yeah, close. 5'3? Between 5'2 and 6'4. 5'2 and 6'4. Probably right in the middle of those two numbers. I don't even know what's that about. Yeah. It's a lot of money. So do you do we have our Lebron XP? Yeah, I think we think the RDC. Let's double check our RD. Dot our eyes, cross our Rs. Let's see. If we can get and what do we go by MC? He goes by MC. Yeah. It's ringing. It is. Very exciting. And this guy, we're gonna talk to Matt.
SPEAKER_03I'm not here right now. Please leave your name, number, and a voice message, and I'll get back to you.
Dr. TATHe is not here. Yeah. Wait, so yeah. He's uh are we leaving a voicemail? Yeah, that'll be fine. Because he has multiple voices. I think he had an alternate number.
Stat BoyOh all right, let's try the newer number.
Dr. TATYeah, I thought you had to go. Let me let me just tell all the set hike listeners. I mean, this will be added out.
Stat BoyI'm just glad we rehearsed this. I'm glad that the prep.
Dr. TATI mean, I thought we fired all the guest relations people that caused this problem, but we have secret phone numbers for our did you call him on his work phone or something? Okay, it's working. Here we go. I think it's working.
Stat BoyIs this working? Is this working?
Dr. TATYeah, yeah.
Stat BoyHello?
SPEAKER_03It's working.
Dr. TATIs this MC?
SPEAKER_03This is M C. Is this E N and A R? Yeah, yeah.
Dr. TATThis is Dr. Tad, actually, and you are live to record on the Seth podcast. Welcome.
SPEAKER_03Hey, how's it going? MC Hammer.
Dr. TATIt's it's good to hear from you. It's been some time, my friend. We we don't want to dox you, but if you could just give us your name and home address, we'll you know edit it that out in the podcast. That's what we send your check.
SPEAKER_03That's for for your check, for your time. Yes. My name is John Mangan. I live at 508 Dermond Road.
SPEAKER_04Perfect. Shit, we're finally gonna edit this out. Edit this out. So I'm kidding.
SPEAKER_03Is that even I don't even know if that's a real is that a real guy? I don't know.
Dr. TATThat could be a real guy. You're you're a gentleman who is extremely well educated, went to one of the best high schools in the region. Shut the hell. And I think is actually you know, it was a it was a high school filled with very handsome educated men. Men of others.
Stat BoyHe's not even known for that. He's known for his fantastic album of music that he used to bring to Veronic Swim Club. That's what he's known for.
Dr. TATHe's an alum of Veronic Swim Club. Let me just introduce MC here. And actually, we're here tonight to talk about your hockey team. So please, the floor is yours. Indulge us.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, so I am a member of a very prestigious organization out in Chester County at the Ice Line Hockey Rank. We are part of the i League. We call the i League because it was instructional, but now it's moved on to more like I where I don't belong in there anymore. We play with like a bunch of like ex-college guys now, so it's pretty chill. And essentially what it is, we have a draft league, so it's like in-house, right? You sign up, it's about 150 skaters, and there's 10 captains essentially you do a fan. So it's like a fantasy league for old fat guys fucking hockey.
Dr. TATWow, that sounds wonderful. And and what's your what's your team? So it's old fat guy, so I'm thinking everything's food food related then.
SPEAKER_03Well, for me, yes. I I'm an old fat guy, so my team name is the sauce.
Dr. TATOkay.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, so uh I like to to patronize the local food establishments, like the pizza places. I figured what better way to mix my two favorite things, you know, a pizza and a puck, which is oddly pizza shaped. It is, you know. Wow. Everything's been going well so far. You know, my team's in second to last place, so we're not great. But when we lack in skills on the ice, we more than make up for in uh of your audience. Yeah.
Dr. TATThat's good. How long have you been playing for the sauce?
SPEAKER_03So we started the team about three years ago. We're on our basis, like our third iteration of the team. So like I said, it's a redraft. So I just like to recycle guys in and out. You know, much like my like college life. You know, they just they come and go. And what I like to do is get the dudes I hate playing against the most. So essentially my team reads League and Panimeth because they're guys that I hated playing against because they were just rocking me up and hurt me on the ice. So I drafted them all, and now we are the goons of the league and it everyone hates us.
Stat BoyCan you can you give me a rundown of your strategy in which you like look for your players? Like, what do you do in your strategy for drafting? Like, is it find these players? BMI number of slices of pizza eaten, heard. Yeah, do we have like a like a combine of some sort where we all like test out and see where you guys stand? Okay, great.
SPEAKER_03Well, I've been I've been playing this league since like 2011. And literally I've just accumulated a lot of battle data from the scars on my body, and the guys that hurt me literally are the guys that I pick to be on my team. Yeah, it's simple. I'm a I'm a big wuss, so I don't like to go and do my own fighting. So I I get the guys that will go and eat up everybody else for me.
Dr. TATWell, I mean, I think that's perfect. And in reality, like Riley. You follow the adage, right? You always want to hire people better than you, and so you should probably hire people that physically harm you. So a bunch of Donald Brasheirs are on your team.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it sounds like we're we're basically a team of brashers. Team of Riley. I heard someone say Riley Kotaya. Yes, cote.
Stat BoyI was trying to think of the last name. Yeah, Taidona. Holy shit. So happened. What what what? No, I'm just I'm just blown away by the and the this is right. This is ice hockey MC.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, ice hockey. Okay, maybe you said that already. That's fantastic. You guys would be perfect. I think you guys should lay some up. It's not too far. Ice Lines in Westchester. You know, we get a lot of beginners out there, but like I said, we got some ex-college guys. It's a pretty good mix of really good players who want to sort of be like more player coaches or or just play down and not really and just play hockey and have fun. And what's like the age? Like guys who suck.
Stat BoyI'm looking at the page, I think, and it says there's a Sunday Intermediate League, there's a Thursday Intermediate League, and then there's an adult 38 or over. So where do you fall in this league?
SPEAKER_03I'm on the Sunday night league. Okay. So it's more like a uh, I would say call it like a uh like a community club or uh I have this very pie-in-the-sky idea of of buying a rank and creating like a an ice hockey version of a country club where instead of centered around golf, it would be centered around like like beer league hockey. And that's essentially what it is, it's that ice line, except the bathrooms always smell like piss. So you're sitting on a gold mine here, MC.
Dr. TATI now if if you if your team was an actual sauce, like a potable or or rather edible sauce, what flavor would you be?
SPEAKER_03We would absolutely be a bolognaise.
Dr. TATA bolognaise.
SPEAKER_03So I'm thinking I like to find the medius dudes, like I mentioned, just like just like you know, flattened beat up against the boards, and I like to get them into my sauce and I get them all like round up and and spiced. Get them out there. Just stir the pot, you know what I'm saying?
Dr. TATI like it. I mean, it sounds like you know, I I I think you're really working in some nice gender roles and some focus on
SPEAKER_03on you know some heteronormative culture here of you know men mixing with men and a lot of me and sauce we don't discriminate gender we've had we've had a lot of ladies on the team nice that's awesome well the fame on the kids like a rhonda rouse is the way I actually saw I saw that you posted it on social media a little bit and there's like an award you get right that gets like the sauciest player of the week or something and you have some great content like great graphics on that yeah I I like to utilize AI like we're very uh very aggressive thinking here over at the off I've instituted an AI assistant it's not like ChatGPT or Claude's name's Antonio oh nice so what so what he likes to do he likes to get back there in the kitchen you know he watches all the games he collects all the game data and based on that he likes to select what we call the sauciest player of the game and generally that's generally that's the person who scores the most goals. Because you know that's the key to winning I find is generally scoring more goals than the other teams. Okay. But occasionally occasionally you get performance that goes above and beyond you know it's like it it's the highlight of the tip. It just jumps off the plate at you and you really just gotta give that person the sauciest player. Right now the sauciest player is Brandon Newell. He had two goals last game and he almost had a hat trick. I didn't give him the award for two goals I gave him the award for almost getting a hat trick for that third goal.
Dr. TATI think that's I think that's great. And and I'm told that you dump a sauce like an entire full bologniers onto the player in the locker room in victory.
SPEAKER_03Yes. Yes we do actually that's a great we do have some vegans on the team so I have to use beyond bolognays sometimes.
Stat BoyBeyond bolognays yeah that's a good point.
Dr. TATI was gonna say I'm sure that you've had some issues with PETA in the past and we all have in in all of our endeavors but you know it's I'm glad to hear that you found compromise.
SPEAKER_03Yeah yeah well we you know we we don't like to like I said we've had had ladies on the team the sauce is for everyone you know we we you can have a sauce of any color really you know I've burnt my sauce plenty of times when I've been cooking it at home but I still eat it because all sauce is good sauce.
Stat BoyYeah I I think all sauces matter is what you're telling me and I believe that too indeed yeah you're really enjoying your webpage here there's some stats here that I can check and actually the sauce from the stat page says you guys have the best power play percentage. We do six you're looking at the ice line web page oh you better believe it you guys have like sauciest power they score 16.7% of the time on their power play which is the best in their division and then which tells me a lot about the skill level of our league. Yeah that's fair and you guys are what like sixth in the league and goals scored four?
SPEAKER_03So that's a bad out of 12 teams who keeps all these stats is there a stat boy doing this there's gotta be yeah there is yeah so at the at the at the game we got real refs and everything they got a s of a scorekeeper and yeah it it's pretty neat. If you go to like my player page you can look at like my entire career which is not impressive so don't click on it. Oh I'm about to click on it yeah click on it I was the team's leading scorer for a few games this year nice but then then two other guys just eclipsed me I had I had like four goals in three games and then I I've been gone a cold streak ever since. Do you have like a coach that gives you like three game speech it's kind of like me I'm not a coach but we have the team captain's like the leader and essentially all I all that means is I'm way more into it than everybody else. Everybody else just kind of wants to come out and get exercise on a Sunday and here I am making people pose with an apron and a giant wooden spoon. Yeah and forcing them to pay an extra $70 for a jersey that I I just wanted.
Dr. TATWell that's nice. I think you you're clearly a team player and a leader of men and the occasional woman and one question for you I know and and we've delved into your bio extensively MC you're considered one of the legends of a certain eronymic swim club lifeguard class of I believe 2010 no what oh nine to eleven maybe was that your tenure yeah around there. Yeah yeah and I got unceremoniously fired for that oh you didn't was that because you were playing Tekken in the guard house instead of doing your job or was that just was that just a secondary problem? I would say you could chalk it up to a philosophical disagreement between myself and my boss yeah I thought that's the exact opposite yeah yeah well you know what I I think to be honest with you you will always be remembered as the guy who brought tech into a lifeguard pool house and we all enjoyed it. And the only other thing I wanted to bring up MC is I believe you're a former or maybe current but certainly one of the best helicopter salesmen in the tri-state area. And what I was hoping to find out is how much are you renting your helicopter to LeBron James this year?
SPEAKER_03I actually that was part of the package deal when we got him signed.
Dr. TATI mean I shouldn't say we got him signed because I don't want to be accused of tampering me and my friend Joel or uh Jim Jim and B yep yeah we sent out the we sent out the helicopter it was a Sikorsky S76 oh nice they're nice line model I threw a slate couch in the back and I took LeBron on a tour of the city I flew him over some of the hot spots like Boo's diamond cabaret Phillips steaks Peniza 50s I was told you got him the Coco's Gelato which is one of the you know real you know in Alden Pennsylvania obviously is the best place to get that. Did you get him to a sauce game yet?
SPEAKER_03Not yet no we actually I have a jersey for him I'm gonna try and sneak him in we have a we have another guy that's out on injury with a broken finger so I was gonna try and sneak him in but I I don't know if that would work because this guy is like five foot six and like two hundred and sixty pounds. Yeah he's a Willie Lankin's he's a six foot he's like uh something about a can of sauce he's more like a can of chef where he's like a chode and he's a lot wider than he long you know I mean yep yeah good for him but very beefy obviously and and oh he's out there you know he I gotta give credit to any guy that laces him up can't skate for shit and goes out there and just does his thing every Sunday night. Yeah which is performative dance is it's it's it's more of like performative sliding and just writhing around I guess that's dancing. I think so yeah so yeah maybe like maybe some of our listeners might want to you know inquire about this league or join like how would how would they go about trying to join perhaps the sauce team yeah we we have plenty of saucy guys for you yeah you can follow me on Instagram wc.sauce I actually believe it or not I I try and coordinate all of like the uh the scrimmages and like a league registration so when we start all these new seasons we have new players we make them come out to a registration stage just to assess their talent and then to adequately place them on a team and if anyone has any inquiries on that you can always reach out to me. I'm happy to to be the face of that league but in all seriousness like this has become my life and it's like the the my favorite thing that I do so I while I was sounded like I was saying it in jeff you guys sit down.
Dr. TATWell well I'll tell you what MC it is beyond a pleasure to chat with you it's been too long my friend I will say that we would love to see you in person. We also will bring said hike out there and we'll definitely do a live live watch of the sauce we will we are officially a sauce podcast we are support we are we are supporters of the sauce put us in mix us in man I'm in there at you know I hope you have enough room for pale Irishmen I think you probably have a few of them we have like I said the sauce is all colors baby yeah like it it's a beautiful thing let's go MC yeah we wish you well be well uh say hi to LeBron for us and let us know when you get him out there for his first sauce skate.
SPEAKER_03Thank you guys and I just want to let I just want to remind you it's time to get sauced or get lost.
SPEAKER_04Get sauced or get lost all right buddy MC great to all see you boy all right godspeed well that was that was nice he was born to be on a podcast I'll tell you he's got a face for broadcasting he really does I'll tell you yeah that was great I mean he I like saw on one of the social medias that he he would always post like sauce sauci as player of the week and he always had these great graphics like impressive AI and just really social media content and I was like yeah I just thought he would be a great guest to have on and we we have had great memories with MC at the pool I tell you MC is a great guy he he was buddies with my brother yeah he went to an interesting college too he went to the same college he's a pretty good sports where'd he go to college I don't know that he went to he's one of our friends' favorite players he went to Lehigh right no where'd he go think Steelers yeah CMU nope Pitt no Steelers quarter Super Bowl winning actually Miami schools where a president and a Super Bowl MVP went listen I did Miami of Ohio I've lost a football game at Miami of Ohio I played there yeah it's it's tucked in the middle of it's basically like does it feel like Miami in the state of Ohio not even close then why do they call it the Miami Miami Ohio is there palm trees or something there?
Dr. TATNo it's essentially the I would call it the navel of Ohio right if Ohio was a stomach you know the St. Petersburg of Ohio it's the navel the NA is it the Orlando of Ohio it's the navel is it the Fort Land Fort Lauderdale there's no Florida derivative you can tie it to why the hell do they name it Miami Ohio? I don't think you because Miami is the name of the Indian tribe they killed to take over that land. Well you should look that up actually I'm not gonna look it up yeah you should I'm not gonna waste my time or energy but you know the guy loves sauce and you know I think I think MC is somebody that we can all aspire to he clearly has found his calling in life which is grown men skating on ice and hurting the shit out of each other. Yeah and then just doing some weird food fetish thing after the game with bolna boligs and they just kind of rub each other up with the meaty no judge whatever whatever now what's your what's your guy's favorite sauce real quick let's all say it one at a time let's start with the least Italian guy which is me. Okay. My favorite's a vodka sauce I love the vodka sauce you know the plum and you know whatever else is in vodka sauce. Yeah maybe vodka I think that's the best one cream and Alfredo don't they mix is it alfredo and red and mixed together I couldn't help I couldn't tell you but but for me a good I had actually Penny Bach during my during my Angelo's trip this past weekend fantastic sauce. Yeah how about you panda yeah I love like any like red sauce I mean yeah way to be specific I appreciate your specificity are you going marinara are you going like a traditional like you go on like a Sunday gravy that's like a tomato basilic tomato basil okay is that like off a jar would you get yeah tomato and barley Dan's like my favorite sauce is ragu.
Stat BoyLike a marinara is just like a base plane you just like uh you just like tomatoes on your yeah or like cheese I like putting Parmesan on the red sauce it's just oh wow what an innovator like good parmesan yeah turtle turtle our listener loves it has to be like fresh production you're using the hand gesture to the hand gesture can you please school us that boy there's a bunch out there red sauces are good I tend to stay off of them because I just have them so much often but for me I like a good kache pepe a kata e pepe God bless you a kache pepe what is that is that hike in Japanese it's like a fancy term for just basically uh some cheese and pepper and red pepper you basically grill you know sauce it up you take a saucepan you grill up the pepper black pepper some red pepper flake and then you throw in some cheese and then you make an emulsion with some of the pasta salt like liquid to help that all come together and it's basically like an adult macaroni and cheese.
SPEAKER_04Yeah no I it's a good quick easy and you call it do I have to say cacci pepe do I have to say it that way the hand you gotta do the hand.
Dr. TATWell it's funny I have had caccio and pepe in Rhone and it was quite good.
Stat BoyYeah it's good it's simple but it's good when it's made right and you got to use a certain type of cheese like a locatelli type cheese like a pepe excuse me what a locelli why do you guys not speak Italian a locelli? A locatelli it's the name brand of like a Parmigian Rajan.
Dr. TATI'll tell you well spoken Italian I was about to say Spanish but they're they're cousins but well spoken Italian it's like a sing song you know like Locatella This is a pro-Italian podcast bolero yeah bolero John Bollares you know just beautiful Italian words yeah bella right bella means beautiful right bella bella bella bella noce bella noce a bella noce bella noce bella noce lapino way yeah can you be a little bit more Italian when you say can you say a bella noce bella noce bella noce what's the matter you I can't wait till we have an Italian listener for this episode I'm sure Turtle is right now just angrily staring glaring at it and and you know it's funny because you Stapway you are a man who is familiar with Italian culture there's a whole concept of gravy which makes no sense to me you know as an Irishman I I don't understand it. Gravy for me is the brown stuff you put on turkey but there's like a Sunday gravy people talk about and that's you know that's a heated debate people get pretty riled up about that. Yeah I'm I'm with you yeah the gravy's like usually a brown gravy you put on chicken or turkey sauce is red gravy's brown right but then people always say gravy is if there's meat in it then it's gravy but it doesn't make sense to me either it's a bunch of nonsense yeah to call to call her the red sauce gravy that's just kind of strange yeah it's just the Bellanoche you know what I mean?
Stat BoySo the MC's not going to change his team name to the gravy? I don't think so he uses a meat sauce bolognaise.
Dr. TATBolognaes is a bolignaise a gravy I guess it is right that has meat and you're talking about according to you but for me No I didn't say anything I'm just listening to you guys talk. No I think bolognaise is like basically just meat and a red sauce. Okay. Let us now did we because we requested this but I don't know if she obliged us do we have a sound off from the good the good kind sled yeah but it was kind of a very quick comment on the LeBron situation.
Stat BoyI think is there more is there a lesson there's a little bit extra to it let me uh let me put it what sound off all right so we asked for you know our good friend Slay to help provide some insight on this LeBron shout out Slay Philly incoming and her sound off goes directly as WTF he's gonna live in New York City and play in Philly. So she's kind of like why doesn't sound happy why why are we doing that okay and then apparently she offered to show him how to use New Jersey Transit the transit app specifically okay and then how to bully people in in New York on X or Twitter.
Dr. TATOh I I bet you she's she's providing because Slayer's trying which I you know I respect like Slayer's trying to show LeBron the the ropes of the train yep and then MC's trying to ride in the helicopter with them so no no mce sold the helicopter to LeBron he's a helicopter salesman did you know that no I didn't know MC sells helicopter sleeping no like I I listen I I didn't know I didn't yeah he goes to the Catalina wine mixer every year he's a part of the Catalina wine mixer fucking Catalina wine mixer yeah the Catalina wine mixer oh so he but still I mean he doesn't want LeBron on a train he always wants him in a helicopter listen the helicopter people they know people are going to come to them they don't have to sell themselves too much. Yeah I mean he told him what he's gonna be on a Solarsky or whatever what was it called a Starsky Starsky what's the name of the helicopter Sikorsky Sikorsky Sikorsky. And it's not Italian either it's a Sikorsky oh yeah so it's more like Sikorsky sounds like Russian or something yeah da Sikorsky yeah Sikorsky. Well MC is a Russian operative so we should say that it's yeah I mean full disclosure you look at his eyebrows I mean it just screams Russian yeah okay well did Slay provide specifics on how to fight ex bullies no but I think that's where you guys come in. So how do we fight ex bullies? How do you fight ex bullies? I've never been on the ex app are you a member of X bullies. Yeah I didn't know what the actually I didn't know what you meant by that. Not not bullies that used to have no not ex bullies no people bullies on the social media app X, formerly known as Twitter. Yeah you don't want to engage with those folks because they're just keyboard warriors that that they fight their keyboards?
Stat BoyDo they fight with a keyboard? Kind of like the panda GIF that slams the keyboard on a desk after it's yeah they just like sit on the keyboard all day.
Dr. TATWell they don't they sit in a chair button it would just be like just a bunch of gibberish yeah no I mean yeah I I don't think it's good to just get in arguments whether it be Facebook or so you you supplement you you rise above it is what you're saying. Yeah you just have to what did someone say once it's like post it and ghost it you just post it and then put your phone in your pocket post it then ghost it yeah just like Durant you know that's the exact way you approach these things you just go straight burner Calend goes back to it. He's like I'm never gonna be offline I I hope Slay crosses paths with LeBron you think they'll see each other what twice a week usually yeah passing I mean depends on the schedule you know she's busy too yeah yeah they're both like super important people well you know LeBron right when she's uh when LeBron's on his way to Phil he's like man I hope I see Slay today and Slay's probably like all right you know I'm pretty busy. Yeah yeah yeah they're both just living a much grander life than we are so you know shout out to them. Well yeah I mean we're lucky to have both of them as part of the podcast yeah we'll we'll be there one day maybe you know that's why we're doing this podcast exactly we're we're like three pizza odysseys away yeah yeah yeah any electronic mail to review not from our email but I think lines provided us just andrew our Andrew painter friend yeah provided us some some Instagram posts the famous horse painter andrew so I think he he posted something about vinyl or vinyl messi okay yeah who's that oh yeah so that was a that was a cool picture actually so that that was back for the World Cup final messi had a picture with Yamal was it Laman Yamal I forgot how you pronounce his like the greatest Spain he's only 19 but but yeah he like there was a picture of Messi with Yamal as as a baby and then they played against each other in the World Cup. Oh okay so that was like pretty cool.
Stat BoySo do you think he like passed down some of his skill he passed down some of that he shouldn't have bathed them.
Dr. TATYeah I know I mean he led to his own demise that's kind of cool like that he ended up like holding a child I mean ended up playing with against him yeah that is crazy to me yeah like what do you think who what's the who's the most famous baby you've held in your life there's been a lot I've seen a lot of famous babies famous babies what's the most famous baby you've met probably like a cousin like I've held I remember when I was like twelve I would meet cousins that were born and yeah they're doing pretty good. So yeah are they famous shout out no I mean they're famous to me you know you know no but no they're you know no no like Yamal I didn't know yeah I've never held like a Yamal level baby I actually you know growing up I was like one of those people who was very phobic I was worried about dropping a baby like you're not I'm not afraid of the the baby attacking me but rather that I would fail holding the child so actually the first real baby I held was my own like little tat. So and then you know Princess Tad and Kit Tat that became easier because you get used to it because it's like you you know you buy it. So if you put it never held a baby until you're um I mean I'm sure I was asked to and I I think I very like uncomfortably would do it. Yeah yeah so the yeah I guess little Tad and Princess Tad and Kit Tat are the famous babies I've held yeah that's special. How about you?
Stat BoyYeah I don't really have any favorite I mean I'm not really allowed to to hold other people's babies just not allowed. Would you if if someone offered you just a random baby to hold roses and somebody said can you put this baby in this basket for me and ship it down the the river I mean I wasn't gonna go that far but sure yeah would you do that?
Dr. TATYeah I would totally ship it Down the river. Okay. Well, you know, you're just helping out a fellow citizen commit infanticide. I mean, it's okay back then. It was all right. Yeah. But it's kind of interesting. Like Lionel Messi, do you think he's got one more World Cup in him? I don't know. Dead silence. No, I was reading Messi. I hope so. I think he still plays for Miami FC, right? So I mean he still was playing at an extremely high level. How old's Messi? He's probably 38, 39. That's also ancient. He's like ancient. I hope he could still play. I mean he was he was playing amazing. He's 39. 39, yeah, which is you know a thousand years old in that sport. I mean, LeBron James is 41, turning 42. Yeah, but he's not playing soccer. That'd be too hard. You need to be a real athlete to play World Cup soccer. Wow. There's a take. I was looking at Andrew's other Instagram message. I don't know if you saw it. No, I've not seen it. Yeah, late on. He sent us a 1997 documentary. Okay. It's called Hands on a Hard Body. And it's about 24 contestants who compete to see who can keep one hand on a pickup truck the longest. And apparently Quentin Tarantino called it one of the best documentaries ever made. Well, it sounds shit. It sounds to me like something we need to watch. So a 1997 documentary where 24 people put their hand on a truck and whoever's doing it the longest. Are you allowed to sit down for it? Do we have the rules? It looks like they're all standing. Like I see a picture. Is there a name to this? Hands on a Hard Body. It's it's actually it was produced by sauce crew. Yeah, maybe Staboy could look it up. Like how long, like the winner. Like, I don't know anything about this. I wonder how long I feel like I need to watch the documentary. I don't want it spoiled. Do you want me to spoil it or not? Like, what would you guess? Like how many hours? I would say how long the film is? No, like how long the winner ended up keeping his hand on the truck. I'm gonna guess and they just have to stay in there. Do they have access to food or water? I don't know the rules. Let's assume they don't have access to food or water. I would say it's gonna be somewhere in the order of 40 hours. 4-0, yeah, is that probably the length. I was gonna say like 24 no. Yeah. It's like multiple days? Yes. How long? So do they have access to food and water? Do you know? Do they have access to food and water? They have to if it was more than like five minutes.
Stat BoyI mean you can go as long as they went without that.
Dr. TATAnd were you allowed to move where your hands on the truck? That's critical.
Stat BoyWe're gonna have to watch the documentary and come back. Yeah, I feel like we should just wait. Yeah, let's not score.
Dr. TATMaybe call Andrew about it or something.
Stat BoyLet's talk. Actually, let's do that. Let's uh everyone needs to- Let's just say it's not as long as the dude that had to cut his arm off had to go.
Dr. TATJames Franco. Yeah. Yeah, we don't talk about celebrities, especially canceled ones. Yeah. Um well, not him. I forgot about that. Yeah. That's that's the film. Yeah, that had a good soundtrack, I think. Yeah, especially when the bone he's cutting through his own bone. That was great. I never saw the movie, but for some reason I heard you hear the story. Do you know the story? Something about he's stuck like out in nature and then he had to do something. Yeah.
Stat BoyAnd yeah, he like fell down like somewhere hiking the desert, wherever he was in, I think Arizona, and he basically got stuck, and he was sitting there trying to get himself out, couldn't, and the only option he really had left to do was to chop off his arm to get out. Yeah. That's crazy. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And it took him, it took him that length of time to do what he had been doing. So this movie, Hands on Hard Body, is less than that.
SPEAKER_04Okay.
Dr. TATSo 127 hours is approximately five days, a little over that. So that guy did it without food and water, right?
Stat BoySo well, I think he drank his own urine. I mean, these can't these guys do that too? I mean, uh, it depends on which hand you can do.
Dr. TATWhich hand are you putting on the truck? Your piss hand or your non-piss hand? Would you do your piss hand or your non-piss hand? Non. Non-piss hand. Okay, so right left.
Stat BoyLeft. Okay. All right. Hmm. I don't know. I I've only played like Edward 40 hands once, and I've had both hands taped. Yeah. That was tricky.
Dr. TATCan I put both of my hands on the truck? That would probably be more comfortable. Yeah, man. Would you go both hands? Because then you could really get a nice lean, you know? Because if both hands are on, you can go heavy into the lean.
Stat BoyIt sounds like you just need to have something touching it at all times, right? So you could you move and take something?
Dr. TATWe still don't know the rules. All we know is a hand has to be on the truck, but we didn't know if you can switch hands or yeah, I feel like you should. Like, are you allowed to walk around? Because if I could walk around the truck, I would do that for a while too. Talk to the other people. Yeah, we'll have to say. Would you talk to them? We have a lot of questions. Maybe. I mean, try to like play mind games with them. Yeah, what would you do? Hey, don't let go of the truck. No, like I, you know, I hear there's like oh it's starting to move. I hear that diner down the street has some great sauce, you know. Sounds kind of good. That's awesome.
Stat BoyThere's gonna be a lot of fingerprints on this truck.
Dr. TATYeah. Great. Yeah. We also there there's been a lot of well, I mean, yeah. Like I we didn't do a whole lot of Eagles talk, but that's okay. I mean, we got trained for the stuff. We're not just starting the game. Yeah, like it's kind of I mean, we're a sauce podcast. Yeah, we are. Yeah. And then our there was there was some surprisingly, like last we didn't mean to do this, but last week we had breaking news that someone dropped out of our fantasy football league, which is kind of sad, but but at the same time, it's in it's a new chapter, and we've had like multiple people. Like we like they were surprised at that news, but they were also inquiring about being in the league. So you know, we'll did you make a decision?
Stat BoyWell, we're going straight. Well, I'm gonna have to still send some information out of the case.
Dr. TATI mean Stat Boys that comes commission, so yeah, but I just know there's been a lot of like applications.
Stat BoyYes, we will we will get that information out. I know it's kind of early in the season for it, but I definitely want to give people time to think about it. I think now there's a wait list, right? We've gone from needing one to we might need to start a second league.
Dr. TATI'm looking forward to that. Yeah, we should join have a sauce league. Yeah, we may have to. A coccio pepe. Oh boy. What the heck? Let's let's go into some corrections.
Stat BoyOkay. Ooh, all right. We talked about earlier in the episode about the number of days in a month, 31. So ideally, the way you want to solve this problem is add a 13th month. Okay. Because if you divide 365, four days by 13, you get about 28 days. So you can equally spread across every month 28 days. There you go. There's your answer. Well, the name of the new month.
Dr. TATKachia Bebbe. It would be that's a strong one. I don't know. It would be where'd you put it after December, or would you put it that's a good question, too. Like, where would you put it? Somewhere a random L. Probably like, I feel like March, April is like a little bit boring.
Stat BoyJust like throw it in the you put a month in between March and would you want a winter month, a spring month, fall, summer? Where what extra month? Like what extra season would you want? Extended. I would want February too. I would just have a out of here. That's secondly after that.
SPEAKER_04Definitely not. I would call it second secondary.
Dr. TATSecondary. Secondary. Just call it like the after party, and it's like right after. Just the after party? Yeah. Just for the month. You got like December, March, April. The after party. Yeah.
Stat BoyNo, I think secondary. And this really it cleans up a lot of other stuff too. So everything has 28 days in every month, right? They're exactly four weeks, four, seven days. Four, seven days. Every month we'll start on the exact same day of the week, right? So every month we'll start on a Sunday, right? And then you have every date is gonna be the same date for every single year.
SPEAKER_04It would make so much sense.
Stat BoySound kind of like the same day of the week.
Dr. TATYeah. So my birthday would always be a two, a Thursday, which is awesome. I would love a Thursday birthday. Every year. An eternal Thursday birthday? That's what it is, yeah. Hell yeah. You would be an eternal what day is your 19th? I would be a Monday. Yeah, I don't know. No, 20th. 20th? Yeah, that's tough. Yeah, mine would be a Tuesday. 714. No, yours would be a Saturday. Yeah, but if yours is a Thursday, how's mine a Saturday? Is mine a Wednesday? Yours is what? Yours is 16th. Yeah, so that's what two days are 14th. Oh crap, Tuesday. Yeah, you and I are Tuesdays. So mine's Saturday. Yeah, that's pretty sweet. Mine's a Tuesday. Nobody wants a Tuesday. Yeah, Tuesday's a not good. Okay. All right.
Stat BoyWell, let's move away from that.
Dr. TATAnd then people who are like born on the 29th, 30th, or 31st, what do they do? They just have yeah, I don't know. They just age less. They just have to change their birth certificate or something. Okay.
Stat BoyGreat. Yeah. Duck Town, right? We were talking about that a little bit. It's a historic district that earned the moniker because it was settled heavily by Italian immigrants and duck farmers in the early 1900s.
SPEAKER_03Is that really what it is?
Stat BoyThere you go.
Dr. TATThere's a lot of duck farmers ahead in DC. I had assumed actually that it was like a warning, like in case something was coming at you, you'd be like, hey duck. It was like duck town. And there was an exclamation point that's been taken out of the city. There's a lot of great ducktails? Yeah. There's great duck jokes out there. That's something Andrew and I usually text about each other. Like we text a lot of duck jokes. Do you really? Yeah. What? Yeah, yeah. Duck jokes? I don't know how that started, but uh give me a good text. Do you have a go-to duck joke? I'd have to look. Like when I open up our text, like I'm telling you, half the texts are about duck jokes. Like is there something we do? Wait, are they jokes about ducks or jokes with a duck in it or both? Usually about about ducks. Yeah, yeah. Like we're talking about waterfowl, right? Like D-U-C-K? D-U-C-K, yep. Okay. I can't think can you think of a duck joke right now? Yeah, I I literally just searched ducks in my in my j in my text. Um the first text that came up said so when was this? I don't know when this was. This was in May. Okay, it was from Andrew. It's not really a joke, but you'll just get the what I'm saying. It's a that podcast of yours is really distracting you from things that matter. Your duck jokes have slowed, and the frog content has diminished. Because we also like frogs. And it's a make sure you your priorities in life are aligned. Okay. So, you know, that's kind of funny. So, so do you have a duck joke? I kind of want to hear a duck joke now. Do you have one, Staboy? A duck joke? Duck joke. Like a good duck joke? Uh well, I'll take any duck joke at this point. Alright, let me find one here. Because are are they like mostly puns? Like, are you you saying things like, you know, the the thing I think about with ducks is Happy Gilmore, you know, when he draws a blue duck? And he's like, I always wanted to see a blue duck. I forget what he says. It's right after that. That's quantastic. But he right after that, the kindergarten teacher is like, You just passed kindergarten, Billy. Do you remember that? I think I remember that. All right, here we go. Panda's got one. Drum roll, please. Alright, better be funny. Panda's he's like, I don't even know if I get this one. Alright, get lay it on us. It says, me, why should I use your dish so? And it says, look. I don't know if that's like we're we're losing steam here. Um you don't you don't got one?
Stat BoyDo you have a duck joke? Yes. Nice. Why do spiders like ducks so much? I don't know. Why do ducks like spiders so much? Because they have webbed feet.
Dr. TATThat's pretty good.
Stat BoyJerry wrote that one, Jerry.
Dr. TATAlright, on onward for correction. We're out of duck. We're out of duck. We're hitting a dead end with these ducks. Alright. We can't fly anywhere with this.
Stat BoyApparently. The White House sub shop in Jersey. Yeah. In Ducktown, actually. In Ducktown, right? It sounds like President Obama did not go to that shop. Really? Yeah. So it sounds like we were promoting something that didn't happen.
Dr. TATDo you does it say which residents have frequented it? I know for sure.
Stat BoyClinton, Trump. Is that it? Well, that's all the things.
Dr. TATIs it just sex offenders?
Stat BoyYeah. Alright. And then our finale here we're gonna wrap up on. Yeah. So we were talking about our Tokyo listeners, so we asked what is said like in Japanese. Yeah, lay it on us. Here we go, folks.
Dr. TATReady?
SPEAKER_01Setto haiku.
Panda DanThat's it.
Dr. TATSo that's kind of that actually sounds pretty similar. One more time.
SPEAKER_01Setto haiku.
Dr. TATSetto haiku. I kind of like it. Setto. Heiko.
SPEAKER_01Setto haiku.
Dr. TATSeto. It sounds like they're saying haiku, kind of. It's spelled like haiku. Setto. Heiko. Do you think they haiku? Setto. Heiku. Yeah. Awesome. How about just real quick do a Italian, just because we've been talking about it.
SPEAKER_02I was just about to lay it on us. Pronti. Partensa via. Oh, that's sounds like that. That's way too hot. What is it? Pronto. Pronti partenza via. We like slowed it down. That's a lot of presuable. What's the second comma too? Well, it's present partensa. Partensa. Via. And it's via at the end?
Dr. TATVia. Via, which is road. That's so weird. Yeah. Alright. There we go. Welcome. Seto. Hike. I'm going to probably use that in future things. So and then how do we say set hike in boardman, Oregon?
Stat BoyLet me say here.
Dr. TATSet.
SPEAKER_00Ready. Set hike.
Stat BoyYeah, you have to say ready. You have to say ready. Yeah. Yeah, ready for it.
Dr. TATReady there. Yeah, that's nice.
SPEAKER_00Ready. Set hike.
Dr. TATThat's really nice in Boardman. That's good. I like that they use ready there. They're much, they're much more meticulous. It's a very good let me say that I would consider this one of the worst duck joke podcasts we've ever had. A very good sauce-based podcast. And we're probably the least excited Sixers fans for LeBron James, thanks to Panda. And I'm here for it. The 31st episode, a prime number, a prime episode for us. I think we are truly blessed to be in a time in which I would argue we're having a renaissance of Philadelphia sports and more importantly, local community men playing ice hockey together and pouring meat sauce on their bodies with or without shirts on. Is there anything better than this, Panda? No, we're we're in the golden age. This Friday is July 31st. So I hope folks have a wonderful July 31st. And then we roll into August. Yeah, we're super excited about the Eagles training cam. I mean, where that that's gonna pick up, you know, you'll see it a lot. And yeah, thanks to MC Hammer for joining tonight. It was quite great. He's a natural. And I think he had a radio show actually at Miami of Ohio now that I think about it.
Stat BoyThat's why that's why he said that's why he was so good.
Dr. TATHe's clean. Yeah. So uh but yeah, I challenge Andrew to send us a duck joke because I I know he loves them and we we need them. In fact, we're gonna ask all of our said hike fans to send us your favorite duck joke.
Stat BoyHow do we do that again? How do we send them?
Dr. TATYou can send them on sethikepod at gmail.com, our Instagram or X accounts, or you could text us. And yeah, our RD department's still researching the uh voicemail that we're gonna get set up. So yeah, definitely send us a duck joke. You want you can come live on the show and tell a joke. You could literally just join, say hello, and tell a duck joke and then hang up. Just like an open joke. In fact, that's what I'm hoping to do. We'll establish a duck joke line, and essentially we just you call in, you give us your duck joke, and you hang up. Yeah, and we'll we'll rank them on a scale of one to quactastic. Yeah, there you go. Um, and what I would say is, you know, for the Seto Haiku podcast, I'm your host, Dr. Tat. And I'm Panda Dan. I'm Stat Boy. And what I would say is let us enjoy the very end of July and enjoy your ducks, all of them, get them in a row, go LeBron or screw LeBron, whatever you feel. Welcome, LeBron. Go enjoy the ducks, go all types of birds, thirty ducks, thirty-one first let's go.
